The Return of Miss BrownFeather

By Lonelyrider

Angelic tanker James LightningSword is astonished by the unexpected arrival of a cherished & troubled old flame, & the sweet-natured brute is too delighted at her appearance to wonder her reasons for returning to his life.

Burly angelic gladiator James LightningSword was sitting on a bench in the peaceful cemetery, a warm breeze rustled his thick short black hair and he felt his groomed short beard, adjusting his dark wings behind him. He crossed one leg over the other, his cozy brown tights soft against his skin and sword clanking at his side like the shield on his back. James hadn't been expecting anyone else at his sweetheart's favorite place, which he had recently taken to visiting himself, was normally secluded and solitary. He looked up and covered his brows at the light as a rider descended on a dark brown pegasus mare, her own angel wings dark brown and her halo a pretty glowing navy blue. James nearly feel over and gasped in shock as she neared, hand flying to his heart, which hammered a bit. The girl gave a cute little smirk as she neared seeing the brute's reaction, his beefy hand on his hairy muscled chest and weapons clanking a bit with his nervous movement.

"Well, well. Hello." The female lesser angel said in a young but sultry voice. She was 25, slightly tall at 5' 8" and had fair skin and long dark brown hair that matched her wings in a banged hairstyle. She wore a pretty corset over her olive colored peasent dress and gothic jewelry.

"Clove...is that really you, sweetheart?" James asked breathlessly, standing up. Clove BrownFeather was James' ex girlfriend from 3 years ago; he'd abruptly left his twin flame and current lover, Lonely, and Clove and him found another during that time. James had loved the troubled young lady very much, in the end she'd fallen in with a bad crowd and left him with only a brief letter telling him goodbye and that she cared. James hadn't seen her since and had eagerly gone back to the woman he'd never stopped loving; Lonely, but as the two were polyamorous, each had the option to love others, and James had never stopped having feelings for Clove nor had any kind of resolution to her abrupt departure.

"Hello, Jamesy." Clove said with a wave, James held out his beefy arms and wings.

"Oh honey, may I hug you? It's great to see you, what a surprise!"

Clove didn't answer, just chuckled and pulled him into a hug, arms and wings around each other, James gently gave her forehead a respectful tiny peck, sniffling and trying not to cry.

"Easy now, you big softie. I was passing through, and I heard a rumour you'd been hanging out here lately. The graveyard? What gives?" Clove asked with a laugh. James chuckled, blushing a little feeling happy; this was the Clove he'd remembered, fun with a great sense of humor.

"Ahh, oh yes. My girlfriend loves it here, so I decided to check it out myself. You know, I do see the appeal, Clove. It's so peaceful and full of animals and plants, it's a great place to think." James told her warmly, his hands on her outer arms gently, again being respectful of her space.

"If you say so, James. I think it's sorta weird. I didn't think you'd stay single long. So, who is she?" Clove teased in a nosy manner, tickling under his beard, James blushed and beamed, enjoying the attention from her.

"I..I...oh, excuse me, honey. It's Lonely! See, here she is, that's my beauty." James showed Clove Lonely's smiling portrait in his magic handmirror, Clove made a little noise in her throat and touched her lip in a pouting gesture, which he found endearing.

"So you went back to your ex? I see. Well, whatever makes you happy, I suppose. Anyway, I am enjoying catching up with you, but I won't stay long, you know how I am." Clove said, going over and mounting her flying mare, James knelt down and politely gave her a boost up and she thanked him, buckling herself into her ornate leather saddle and harness, her mare tossed her mane and James patted her and she nickered.

"That's right, I forgot how great you are with horses." She remarked.

"Are you in town? Oh...forgive me, Clove. It isn't my business." James blurted quickly with another blush. Clove smirked again, pleased by his outburst, shifting her wings as her mare pranced eagerly below her and James patted her and fed her a sugar cube.

"I'm staying with a wealthy friend, in the warlock district."

James gasped, astonished.

"I...oh my, my father bought me a manor in that neighborhood." James blurted again.

"Moving up in the world, I heard as much. That isn't shocking to me, Mr LightningSword. You might just see me again." Clove whispered, leaning down over him, her hair falling about his face, neck and chest, soft and smelling like flowers. She gave his cheek a gentle kiss and turned on her mare, swiftly taking to the sky with a fierce neigh and flying away as James watched, his chest heaving with overwhelm. Finally, seeing her fade into the pink & grey sky, he called to her and waved as his own horse curiously nudged him.

"Goodbye for now, Clove! Take care dear!" He shouted, and James excitedly mouthed to his horse. "Clove's back, boy! I can't wait to tell everyone, especially Lonely. Oh I've missed her so. I never got to say goodbye." He sighed, looking at the sky; clove and her mount had faded from view. James fed his own mount a big sugarcube and mounted up, trotting home excitedly to share the good news of his lost flame's mysterious return.
