Bathroom Traumas of a NightWing Mind Reader
Being a Mind Reader isn't always fun, especially when you have to use the Public Restroom with a bunch of other dragons.
Whenever Moonwatcher needed to go, she dreaded it every time when she went into the bathroom cave. As a mind reader, let's just say using the public bathroom was not a pleasant experience.
Whenever she needed to go, it was not just her own business she had to worry about, but the thoughts of a bunch of other girls who had business' of their own to attend to, and let's just say, the images she had seen in their minds as a result, their might as well have not been any walls between the stalls in the first place.
But when Moon made it to the bathroom cave on this particular day, relief flooded through her, it was empty. If she hurried, she may be able to get in and out before anyone else arrived.
So, making it for the nearest stall, she quickly did what she came in here to do, was almost done wiping, when...
She heard talonsteps.
Moons, she'd have to wait to leave her stall until the other dragon had gone into theirs, she knew how other dragons thought, if this dragon saw her leaving, there was a chance they might have a quick thought of what she had done in there, and that never stopped being a humiliating thing to witness.
But as the other dragon got closer, her heart stopped.
It wasn't a girl.
It was Turtle.
Moon looked up at the inverted walls, the way they were lined up. She didn't always use the restrooms down this hallway, but at that moment it occurred to her...
She was in the boy's room!
Turtle stepped into a toilet a few stalls down from Moon's taking the big one. Not even knowing she was in there, he seemed almost self-conscious to go.
Why are us guys so weird down there? Turtle thought, taking a glance that made Moon regret some things. Do you think Kinkajou would like you like that? Oh what if Kinkajou doesn't like you like that? What if us guys are too weird that way and a real girl doesn't really like you for that, and all of this is just... Then his thoughts stalled. But what if she does like you like that, oh Moons, what if she actually does...
Why did they always forget to grab their Skyfire each and every day it seemed? Moon could almost feel his blush radiating from halfway across the room. If only he knew Kinkajou wasn't the girl he should be worried about right now.
Don't worry, you're fine, Moon thought, Kinkajou likes you very much... you know.
Okay, now that he was busy, now was a good time to leave.
But just as she reached for the stall door, and just as Turtle began to lift his leg to do his business (ugh, the leg-lift, not the squat, how awkward!), the sound of talonsteps, and a third dragon entered the bathroom.
Oh no, not Clay! She loved the kindhearted MudWing, but this was too much!
Moon tried to cover her eyes, but unfortunately, the eyes of her bathroom companions weren't as closed as hers, and everything they saw was a lot of what they were thinking.
(Though Moon couldn't deny the vast majority of Clay's bathroom thoughts were pretty sweet, helping a new student around the school, hoping he had been "Big Brotherly" enough...)
Turtle finished up and flushed, feeling awkward all over about himself, but just as he was leaving, another dragon came in. Then another.
And so began rush hour.
Moon had never had a more miserable bathroom break in her life. Sure, she was straight - she had no doubts she was straight - but she wasn't _ this _ straight. Boy after boy came through, and she couldn't leave because who knew what thoughts they might think about her as a girl in the bathroom.
So she just stayed there, in her trauma, waiting it out, waiting for the bathroom to finally clear out.
At least some of the boys weren't too bad...
And then right as the last dragon was clearing out, there came the sound of another set of talonsteps. But rather than more trauma, a comforting sense of familiarity suddenly washed over her.
The stall next to her closed and locked.
"Qibli?" Moon whispered through the stalls.
Qibli jumped, an image popping into his head of Moon barging in and catching him in the act of going... Qibli felt his face going red. Sadly, that wasn't to be far from the truth. Was he in the girls' room, were all the girls around him going? He tried to bury the thoughts of every girl he knew going.
"Moon?!" Qibli rasped as quietly as he could, "What are you doing in here?"
Moon realized Qibli was trying hard not to do a potty dance, he kind of really needed to go.
"I needed to go earlier, and I didn't realize it at the time, but I came into the wrong room. I didn't want to leave, because... you know."
Qibli probably couldn't have helped it if he tried, but at that instant, a highly embellished image of Moon going to the bathroom popped into his head.
"QIBLI!" Moon shrieked.
"Sorry," Qibli said, blushing.
Moon was silent for a moment, "Is that really how you see me," she asked finally, slightly flattered.
Qibli just blushed deeper.
"Listen, I really got to go," Qibli said, "Can you..."
Moon nodded. Qibli couldn't detect her nod like she could his, but he seemed to pick it up on the implications of her silence anyway.
Qibli glanced around, but he really needed to go!
"Do you mind?" he asked awkwardly.
Moon couldn't hold back the amused grin popping up on her face. This time, she did not.
"Go and do your thing," she said, "And I apologize for any thoughts I may see of you doing it."
When Qibli was done, his face was as thoroughly flushed as the toilet.
"You saw all of that, didn't you?"
"Yep." Moon answered.
"Okay," Qibli breathed out heavily, halfway to himself. "So I'm supposing you want to get out of here?"
"Yes," Moon said, the weariness of her experience hitting her hard.
"Hold here," Qibli said.
Qibli opened his door cautiosly, slipped from the stall, and made his way to the bathroom entrance, peaking outside.
"Is the coast clear?" Asked Moon.
But before Qibli could answer, Winter stepped in.
"No wait, you can't come in," Qibli cried, throwing himself in Winter's way.
Winter looked at him and narrowed his eyes. "Why not?"
Qibli hesitated, "Well, um..."
But at this point, Moon was done, at least better Winter than someone else.
"Don't worry about it Qibli, I'm coming out." She said with a sigh as she stepped out of her stall.
"Moon?" Winter asked surprised, another embellished image coming to_ his _head. Moon felt herself going even redder, is that how girls "going" really looked to these guys?
"Wait Moon, no!" Qibli cried.
But Moon was so distracted by Winter's image, she missed Qibli's warning thoughts entirely.
As Moon stepped out of the bathroom, she saw standing before her the stunned faces of half a dozen heavy jock dragons, full of water, beyond ready to go.
And the embellishment in their minds alone, Moon was sure she would never be able to live it down.
Moon could only stand there parallelized, clinching herself together to try to cover herself up from the images as best she could, never wanting to open up again.
But that did not help.
"Qibli!" Moon wailed aloud.
But Qibli could only think of one thing.
He shot her the most kawaii image of a Moonwatcher peeing that he could muster. Realizing that probably could never have helped, he added a picture of himself also going, the two kawaiis glancing at eachother in shock to notice the other one was there going beside them.
And that was what completely broke Moon. In an instant, Moon dropped to the floor in a fit of hysterical laughter.
The jocks looked at her, then at eachother, "Come on, let's go pee," they said, going around her and into the bathroom.
When they had disappeared inside, Qibli went up to Moon and helped her back to her talons. Winter looked at him quizzically, but Qibli just ignored him.
When Moon finally got her breath inside her, she turned to Qibli and looked at him gratefully.
"Thank you Qibli, thank you."
Three Moons did Winter know he missed something important.
"I guess there's one thing to take from this," Qibli said knowledgeably, "Boys, girls, we all pee weird."
And Moon lost it again.
