Darkness and Starlight 13 - A Mother's Day
Saving up for a trip to the islands was no small feat. Lavalava Island was cheap, but it was also substantially closer to the mainland than Yoshi's Island was, far far away to the southwest towards Dinosaur Land. It would take some time before Koopin...
Mushrooms, Turtles and Pipes, Oh My! 11 - Yoshis Aplenty
Despite the multitude of technicolour dinosaurs that existed in the village, it was quite a small place to navigate around. The local general store was the most prominent building, marked by a fire flower as its sign like all item shops across the...
Darkness and Starlight 22 - Heart of Anger
On the third month since James had begun his trips to Rogueport, the raptor wandered back home in a thick overcoat in the late evening, right around when the sky had turned dark. Opening the door with his spare key, he sighed and flumped his back...
Darkness and Starlight 5 - The First Degree
"AQUA!" The damp castle hall ran clear with James' proclamation, his hands tingling before a mighty spout of water that weaved and undulated like a snake. Kammy watched from the side, intrigued to see where James was going with this. The moisture of...
Mushrooms, Turtles and Pipes, Oh My! 15 - Another Mansion
Stepping into the grand entrance hall of the dark "abandoned" mansion, James began to scan the area cautiously. It was quite an impressive place, a curtained staircase to his left and a worn but pricey-looking sofa to his right. The sofa had its own...
Darkness and Starlight 9 - Round 1
Koopin had rarely ever gone into the Club 64 itself, having always preferred his more local club the 1.2.8 which was much closer to home. But he could appreciate its calmer air and quieter ambience. The occasional beat of a double bass filtered...
Darkness and Starlight 23 - A History of Violence
The moment James reached towards the doorknob, a part of him began immediately regretting it. His claws clasped firmly upon the handle, as Koopin's own hand covered his. They both turned the lock, as a voice came from inside. "Ahhh come in." James...
Mushrooms, Turtles and Pipes, Oh My! 17 - An Odd Professor
A small shack laid upon the very edge of the forest, lit up only by a weak orange light from within. While not entirely behind the mansion, it did lie near the edge of a cliffway, the tall frozen mountains of the Shiver Region far away in the distance....
Darkness and Starlight 7 - Open For Business
The Dry Dry Desert had a slight breeze running through it today, creating the slightest of dust storms and the barest of Tweesters, strange living whirlwinds glaring with glee from afar. For the most part however, the various creatures of the desert...
Darkness and Starlight 17 - Dreams of the Deep One
What felt like only minutes of darkness to him soon passed, as he heard the world soon come back to him. The sounds of a soft tidal sea came from nearby, along with the cries of goonies from above. His eyes blinked open, murmuring automatically: ...
Mushrooms, Turtles and Pipes, Oh My! 20 - The Grand Reveal
Seeing the now-soured face of their former archaeological ally had made both James and Koopin's eyes turn wide with disbelief. Koopin tried to speak out first, his mind begging for answers. "K-Koopmar! Why are you doing this?! What's going on!?" "I...
Mushrooms, Turtles and Pipes, Oh My! 13 - The Weston Kingdom
The interior of the pyramid welcomed them with some relief from the blazing heat outside, but the cold had hit them so smoothly that they could not help but shiver. Stone yellow halls glistening with the firelight of strangely-lit torches, cobbled...
