Title is a work in progress.
Ladies and gentlemen, I would love to thank all of you for joining me in this exquisite tour. My name is Oliver Rose and I am this Arena's director. Everyday, thousands of citizens from all corners of the Federation come to see captured anthros fight to the death. While those who couldn't attend the matches in person, could still watch at home in high definition!
All of you holds a very important job here, from security detail, all the way down to the custodians. We're all here to ensure the safety of our guests and well being of my Arena. Now you all may be wondering why exactly are we making these anthros kill each other for our amusement. To answer that question, I'll tell you a very interesting story.
200 years ago, when humanity was at the beginning stages of interstellar conquest, a lone expedition cruiser came across a planet roughly the same size of Homeworld, housing the same ecosystem and atmosphere. It was even more astonishing how it supported life. The captain and her crew celebrated at the fact that they made an unprecedented discovery that would go down in history. Even more amazing was when they picked up signs of intelligent beings as well. Multiple civilizations flourished in this world including an unexpected group of homo sapiens that closely resembled us.
They called themselves the Yhsyu, a race of humans that lived on a set of islands far off from the mainland. They were identical to us in every way with the exception of their slim frame and long ears. Nevertheless, they were our cousins from another planet!
Not everything was all it seemed sadly when the ship observed the species more closely. The captain at the time could only describe it as cruel to the highest degree. The villages occupied by the Yhsyu were controlled by various races from across this world, using them as.... Play things! Our out-of-world cousins were constantly forced to perform humiliating acts for their amusement before being killed off.
The majority of the ship's crew decided that it was best to hide this information, keeping it to themselves until they figure out what to do next. However, one brave soul refused to stay quiet as he believed that the Yhsyu deserve justice for everything they been through. Risking court marshal and quite possibly the death penalty for leaking confidential data, this man secretly transmitted all of the information gathered to homeworld.
When news broke out about another this strange world harboring intelligent life, all of humanity rejoice until they learned of what was really happening with the government desperately trying to cease the flow of images, audio and video recordings being sent from the ship. The billions of faces once filled with joy and wonder were now replaced with shock and anger. Riots quickly broke out as the old government tried to justify their reasons for hiding the such atrocities; believing that it wasn't our right to intervene in other people affairs.
This revelation spark a huge uproar that spanned across the globe. Every man, woman and child, cried out in one voice: War! The old government quickly crumbled under the people's might and in that same night, a new world order was enacted!
Over the course of two years, humanity immediately begun the construction and weaponization of warships, from small cruisers to dreadnoughts, all for the sake of a one sided invasion that would alter the course of history.
Hundreds of ships with millions of troops ready for battle, converged on the unsuspecting planet.
The inhabitants were pathetically out matched by our superior technology, combating our forces with nothing but swords and arrows. It took less than a day to destroy countless kingdoms and empires, leaving little room for mercy. Now the screen behind me shows a photograph most of you may have recognized in the history books back in school. It shows a officer offering his hand out to a young Yhsyu woman with her child wrapped around her arm, the poor kid was balling his eyes out at the time.
Yes you in back ma'am. You had a question?
“what happened to the inhabitants after we took control?”
That's a good question. As the years flew by with our fleet helping the (insert human name here) slowly build up their numbers, many wondered that same question at the time. Some thought that it was best to just killed them all and be done with it. However, one man known as the believed that the inhabitants would serve a far greater purpose and it all started in a single prison camp located on the planet. Simply known as the warden, this man wanted to bring back an ancient bloodsport that the romans used in a daily basis. Strong warriors from all walks of life fight to the death to achieve glory and fortune.
As for the inhabitants however, the warden gave his prisoners a choice; fight or die. Thus sparked the beginning of the Arena, an eye for a eye some would say. Now fast forward 200 years with the human race expanding its influence across the galaxy, colonizing multiple planets in the process. Our long eared cousins, the yhsyu were left alone with their homeworld so they could develop properly and peacefully.
If you weren't already aware, the Federation has built multiple Arenas scattered across the system with their own directors calling the shots like me. Again, I must thank all of you for joining my family as we are regarded as having the most well rounded benefits program compared to the other guys. By default, all of my employees will have access to a insurance program that covers the basics from medical to dental. Of course you can always switch to the advanced program that will cost you slightly more. You will also have 3 months of paid time off with 300 hours of sick leave folks! Any questions?
“Umm Mr. Rose, I was meaning to ask, what's the difference between your arena and the others?”
Well each director has complete control over what transpires within his or her Arena, that means how it is built, how they choose to pay their employees and where it takes place. Personally, I know two that are close associates of mine. One of which calls herself Venus, the goddess of love and fertility. What makes this woman unique is how she rewards her employees by offering them a constant supply of mindless slaves that bend to her will. A life full of sex and lust but won't help pay the bills if i may add. Despite that, we both constantly trade fighters in a monthly basis and sometimes have friendly wagers over each other’s best warriors.
The other one is Grimm and he's quite the controversial fellow within the Federation as he only takes the most dangerous of prisoners. I remember a time when visiting his Arena to search for suitable contestants when the intercom screamed that there was a break out. If weren't for the USS Ace of Hearts dropping by for resupply then I would have been torn asunder by a very large and very angry wolf. Anyway, the point is that you have many options when it comes to picking a place of work and i'm happy that you picked me. Any more questions?
“What is the reward for prisoners who are in a win streak?”
If it comes to that then they will become the Arena's champion and have access to many perks until they are killed. The main perk is the ability to reproduce with any of the other prisoners they desire, whether it's voluntary or…..by force. I will make sure that their next of kin will grow to fighting age and carry on their parent’s legacy!
Why are you making that face? You thought I would set them free or something? Hehehe, don't make me gag. People from all over wants to see a bloodbath and I'm here to give them a front row seat. If you don't like it then I'll be more than happy to accept your two week notice right here, right now but if not, do your fucking job and get paid. There's nothing more to discuss. A few more questions.
“What happened to the Yhsyu? I mean, we did put a lot of effort to make sure that they didn't die off from what i heard. ”
After the first Arena was built and humanity was settled in, humanity let the Yhsyu's population increased with the help of a few willing colonist. The planet that once housed the inhabitants now only contains our cousins and rightfully so. Eventually, some of them joined the Federation and because infused into our society while the rest stayed behind in their world, away from the rest of the galaxy like before. Ok, I have time for one more question. Any takers?
“Yeah, I have one! What's plan if we have a break out of our own?”
That's what security is for; to make sure such a thing doesn't happen in the first place. We will going through monthly false alarms and drills so everyone knows what to do if a break out actually does take place here. Please console your data pads if you want to know more.
Ok that's about it for now, I want all of you to get yourselves acquainted while here and explore. A fresh shipment of sabertooths will arrive three weeks from now so please prepare ahead of time. If you have suggestions, complaints or concerns then you'll find me in my quarters up in the observation deck. You're all dismissed.
This is my Theater of Heros. The stage will be set and the curtains be drawn. Let us now entertain our guests!
