episode 4- new transfers

Jake just came from his room and found a basket of laundry outside the door in the end of the hall. He sighed. “ I am not your maid Silvia. Do your own laundry. I showed you how.” Jake heard scraping on rock before he picked up the basket and took it to the laundry area in the basement. He picked up each piece and threw them in the washer before starting it and kicking the basket to in front of the dryer. He sighed before hearing some knocking on the door to the shop. He went back upstairs and found Silvia at the just closed door with a scroll in her hand. She opened it and read it to herself before sighing. “ I got to go back to my home for some time.”

Jake sighed. “ Anything wrong?” Silvia shook her head. “ No, just some rites and trial ceremonies I must govern over. The council decided that they wanted to find me a husband. I got to deal with this.” Jake became disappointed. “ Oh, I keep forgetting that they are pressuring you to bare another generation.” Silvia sighed. “ I know. I fear that one of them will get it in their head to fall to the councils influences. Worse I fear the council will try to oust me and my brother after they are born. I know they do not like my position of no further conflict but I know the tribe lost a lot over recent years. We need to look to build not expand.” Silvia went to her wrist and transformed to her battle armor. She hesitates a moment before reaching into a pouch and brought out a deck of cards. Jake took the cards without looking at them. “ You will know who they are for when you see him.” Silvia immediately left for the union portal gate station and Jake put the new deck. He then got a call on his communicator.

Leon rubbed the scar on his chest threw his shirt as it was sore when he came to the school Hammer was attending. He however paused seeing it. “ The building looks old. Low and small openings on the ground floor and higher openings that are narrow on those above. Good placements for stationary defenses. Thick walls. A good place for an academy.” Hammer sighed. “ The place was built over a hundred years ago on the offset of our last world war. The fear of it happening again was very fresh when this place was built.” Leon curls his whisker before noticing and stopping. “ Makes sense. For not being in the city in years you are very knowledgeable.”

Hammer sighs. “ I know the history of the place because I had a feeling you would ask about it. However most of the buildings around here are new due to the reconstruction. Do not ask me where the closest coffee shop is.” Leon grabs his whisker again. “ A what?” Hammer sighed again. “ It is a place to get affordable drinks. A common gathering place for most preadults such as myself.” Leon grunted. “ A watering hole. Yes I know of such concepts. Most battle hardened warriors go to pubs. I am curious of where the local ones are in the area. I do not want to be stuck at your side all the time.”

Hammer raised his shoulders. “ I can not help you there. As I understand it while I am doing my education you are suppose to be in a separate area with other partners. You will find out what exactly when we get there.” Hammer shifted the bag on his shoulder and started moving forward and Hammer got out a note in his pocket. He handed it to one of the ones in uniform and he looked at it before looking at Leon. “ Leon of the beastman tribe. You are to be restricted to the rear grounds with the other partner visitors. Near midday is a small break for food and recreation time. You may meet again there. Note there is to be no unauthorized KSBS activity inside the building. If it is on turn it off now.” Hammer gets his KSBS pad out and turned it off. Leon looks down to Hammer again. “ I will see you then.”

Leon looked back to the one in the uniform. “ Point me which direction to go and I can figure out the rest.” Leon followed the direction pointed to and Hammer extended his hand for the note back. “ Your first class is on 3-a13 in the east wing. You get there by.” He then looks away from Hammer and looks behind him to a dragon leading to a landing and he transformed in a cloud that formed around him. He appeared again in a wheelchair with both of his legs missing and only a bit of his tail behind him. Jake was running up the street and stopped at the dragon in the wheelchair. Trying to catch his breath.

“ Geese.” Jake took a few deep breaths. “ Do not run off like that. I am responsible for you and if something happens to you your sister will skin me alive.” The dragon looked back at Jake both sorry and humored. “ Come on. I will race you.” The dragon starts racing down the path before Jake could grab a hold of something to stop him and Hammer moved in front of him almost making them collide if the dragon did not stop. Hammer could hardly believe he was seeing who he was. “ Excuse me, your in the way.” Hammer stopped his gawking and lowered his shoulders disappointed. “ Come on, have you forgot me already?”

The dragon was about to shake his head not sure of the one in front of him when Jake grabbed his wheelchair. “ Thanks Hammer for stopping him.” Hammer raised his hand as he turned. “ Anytime Jake. We got to hurry or we will be late. Meet up at lunch?” Jake hesitated so the dragon answered for them. “ Sure Hammer my friend.” Hammer was already up the ramp and threw the doors by the time they were done with the guard. “ I have not heard Hammer was back. When did he get here?” Jake sighed. “ Last Friday. Right before your sister got that notice. Now Lord remember you are not allowed to mention many things. Do you remember what they are?” The dragon nods happy. “ Of course. I have been trained to remember such things and practice them. I am so happy you agreed to make this easier.”

Jake sighed again as he pushed the wheelchair into an elevator. “ I am happy to see you again and spend some time with you. Your sister can be a little, self absorbed about daily tediousness. I know her work takes a tole but still.” The elevator stops and the doors open. “ I am not her maid.” Jake pushes the wheelchair out of the elevator and they come to a door with the number 3-c09 on it. In the room behind it was full of both creatures and children Jake's age or size and an adult. They both notice a part of the teacher instantly and Jake's face went red. “ Hello, you must be the new transfer.” The dragon raised the note. She took it and read it. “ Oh, your name is Lord Osbring. And this is your partner?”

Jake shook his head. “ No, my partner is another but I am his guardian. They are back in their home world with a family issue. Sense I was free I was asked by the Union to host this temporary transfer.” She looked at the two and raised her shoulders. “ I see. I am always happy to see these cute dragons. There are two seats in the back by the windows free. You may move them together and help each other sense we deal with both Terran and universal teachings you may aid one another and explain things to the other.” She gave back the note and Jake pushed Lord back to the seats. After Jake got seated Lord grabbed his arm and pulled him close. “ Is it me or should the teacher be preparing to nest?”

Jake look back at her getting ready for the day and shook his head. “ You got to remember Lord we are not drake blood. Our parental feeding is similar to the bulvines of your world. Or cattle we call them.” Lord thought about it and opened his mouth to the realization. “ So her chest appendages are not a sign she is ready to be.”

Jake raised his finger. “ I would not say that. That is just the way some mature. They are a way for males to gain attention to them if she is seeking to. Truthfully you should not need to know these things but sense you asked this to me you should know it is an embarrassment for a woman to be asked if she is.” Jake paused to think on his wording. “ Seeking such a thing and may take offense if she thinks you are offering to do such.” Jake paused again. “ Then again women can be complicated. She may actually be desiring such. I find it better to let them take the lead and hinting to them to do such.” Jake leaned back in his seat finding a few listening in to their conversation. That and the teacher getting ready to start the lesson as a machine visitor modeled after a Terran entered.

“ And to calculate an accelerated quantum degrade issue of a zeal crystal you must first.” Suddenly the bell rang. “ Sorry class that is all for now. It is time for lunch.” Lord leaned over to Jake. “ Be sure you did not put it into the device up side down.” Jake laughed to himself remembering that something he did once. “ Enough goofing off. We got to eat.” They both went down to the area behind the academy building where there was a dozen guards watching over several dozen creatures from all four of the greater worlds. One that recognized Jake moved forward. “ Jake, I see it is time for R and R from your learning. Where is my partner if you know?”

Jake looked behind him toward the exit. “ He is on the other side of the building I suspect.” Leon raised his shoulders. “ It is no matter I suppose. I will be in the same place. So who is this one?” Before Jake could stop him Lord stuck out his hand. “ Names Lord Osbring beast tribe member.” Leon grabbed it gently sense his hand was much larger. He was surprised the young dragons grip was much stronger than he thought. “ Lord is it? I am Leon.”

After a short while they found themselves beside a fighter arena where two partner creatures were settling a matter that was ignited threw the day. Hammer had joined them and they were eating their lunch as another dragon that was red moved to them. “ Okay weakling give me your lunch.” The group ignored him and he grabbed Lord's shoulder and spun him around. The lunch on his lap fell to the ground. The roll in Lord's hand was snatched away as he looked shocked. Leon was about to raise but Hammer put a hand on his. He looked back to Hammer shaking his head. Leon looked back to Lord touching the pad on his wheelchair and a KSBS challenge field was engaged.
