Cookie's Bio

Bio for Tobi's best friend, Cookie.
Cookie was raised as an entertainment ape. At the age of 5, in the begnnig of the simian flu crisis began, he became infected and managed to escape. By a stroke of luck, he ran into Tobi and his owner, aroud the time Tobi was three. Tobi took to Cookie quickly even though Cookie was nervous around them. Cookie considered staying with this chimp and human to be preferable to going it alone and being re-captured by humans andforced to entertain again. Tobi's friendliness and view of Cookie as a person as opposed to entertainment positively predisposed him to Tobi.
Cookie recognised Tobi's owner knew much. He became interested in prodding at the small garden Tobi's owner kept. Tobi's owner recognised that humans only had so much time left and decided to procure books on plants, structure building, and various other things he felt would be necessary for the chimps to sustain themselves in the absence of society after the looming collapse of humanity. Cookie seemed more interested in the books on farming and architectural mathematics than Tobi.
Cookie picked up Spanish and English. He was was taught to do "funny" gestures during his time as an entertainment animal: Tobi not only found these amusing, but found their expressiveness very useful. Tobi began to pick up on Cookie's gestures. Along with common chimp gestures, the two collaborared and built the "funny" gestures into a personal form of sign language.
