La Mer
A short narrative on nostalgia and sailing.
La Mer
I do recall those days of yore,
Of wanton youths spent 'side the shore,
On islands never touched by war,
Those years are gone;
I wish for more.
We braved the bays of Yonder Yorn,
While singing that we shan't be shorn,
With eyepatches now long since worn,
Those years are gone;
And now I mourn.
As seasoned salts on ships of yare,
Long tales and drinks and nights we'd share,
Our glory never seemed to wear,
Mais tu me manques :
Toi et la mer.
