A Teaching of Gods, Part One
A little bit of desert I guess, just some lore based tidbits and some more insight into my world as a whole. <3

A Teaching of Gods
Part one: Aldinama
My study was dim in the early night, my student late, the young boy had no interest in politics, he struggled to stay focused in any of my lectures. It was important however, thought my patience wore thin, even now as the dark haired boy ushered his way into my study I found myself on the verge of forfeiting his teachings.
“Your late again Fyr, what is your grand excuse this time hm"? I asked, expecting some grandly practiced story. Yet the boy simply pulled from under his arm some dusty old book, it had no mark of any library, its bindings were frail, page's yellow. I rose a brow however, the sigil stamped upon its green leather cover was that of the Tree.
“...Hmmm…" I mused, leaning back against the tall of my chair, one hand coming to stroke my beard. The boy held the book somewhat timidly, I was a man of accord, record and transcribe, the gods however interested me little, but perhaps.
“Tell me Fyr, what do you know of the Gods?" I asked him, his amber eyes lighting up a bit as he shrugged and looked off to one side.
“Nothing Sir, the book...I can't read it, its in some other tongue…" he replied, sounding both intrigued yet defeated.
“Hand it here boy" I said, leaning forward over my desk, reaching an arm out for the book, its weight was deceptive, there was metal hidden somewhere within but even I could tell it was special.
“It's written in Ramserian, the tongue of the Advent gods, do you know which wrote this…"? I asked, raising a brow as I opened it and began to scan over the words.
“No...but I thought maybe you could… read it to me"? He asked, I didn't show any surprise, thought this did present an opportunity.
“I can, and shall, IF, you pay more attention to your study, deal"? I offered, carefully thumbing through the pages, though secretly smirking behind them, I knew he'd say yes.
“Of course"! He exclaimed with eager excitement, pulling up a chair and seating himself, staring up at me with renewed interest.
“Ahem, mmph, this tome bears the mark of the Advent Goddess, Aldinama, the mother of Dragons and of the forests. She in appearance was that of an enormous serpent, and twas said that the ancient forests of Falon grew upon her back. She mothered the Naga, Urthski as they would be known in Ramserian. She like the other Gods, chose but one land after the Awakening, one land upon which to cast her image of life. She alone with her coils bore deep into the towering plateau that was Mayoran, carving deep valleys in the rock. Her jaws bit and tore at the towering peaks that remained till the mountains Sol and Kosmn came to be. And her sharp tail bore waterways and rivers through the land, bringing with them green of grass and jungle." I began, flipping through just a few pages, scanning over the words I knew best.
I could see Fyr was invested, his amber eyes sparkling with keen attentiveness, if only he could show such enthusiasm during my lectures.
“Aldinama used her breath to cast the fog and mist from the air and within it she sowed the seeds of the ancient Lyrm Jungle that covers the north and center of Mayorans main valley. And once the trees began to bloom and flourish so came many a critter from her agape jaws, snakes, lizards, skinks all the beasts of scale great and small, save the Dragons. It was one of these simple snakes that became the Naga, Urthski, she found it one day, injured by a falling branch. She nursed it back to health, and gifted it sculpt and refinement and thus the Naga were born of her image." I continued.
The Advent gods were something my Mother had taught to me, all those years ago in that little cabin we had in Mirodels Highlands.
“Many suns and moons past and Aldinama taught the Naga her beliefs, he history and why the Gods had come to Sobek. In this time of teaching one of her Urthski fell for her, a Naga by the name of Lassiris, granted the Goddess a child, the first of the Gods to be born upon Sobeks soil, the Goddess Sheoagath. The mother of the Ezala Khal, thought her father was mortal, and so passed of age as she grew. She took to alchemy and became the first of its profession, seeking to create an elixir that would make one immortal. It is said that to this day Sheoagath still searches for it. As for Aldinama, she did sire another child with the God Targon." I continued, the pages becoming more stained by mould and age, the writing becoming harder to ready.
Whomever had cared for this tome had done so quite poorly, though perhaps my student had nicked it from some grave in the catacombs.
“Kadar!" he said eagerly, his eyes still alight with interest, I rose a brow, noding to his response however.
“Yes Kadar, first of the Dragons, the Shadow of the world, Kelminmni in the Tongue of the Gods, a Wyvern so giant his wings could throw whole countries into night. The only God to be slain at the hands of a mortal, the archer Kemsi in the White army of the King of Volthume during the First war. Though Kadar did sire children of his own whereas Sheoagath still has yet to. Kardar had a son and daughter, Skyler the first Dragon of the Plains, and Valkyr, the first Dragon of the Seas. both Gods themselves, born of Incest regrettably, Kardar sired them with his Mother before she drew her final breath during the war. With Aldinamas passing however the first of the schools of the divine were born, the teaching of Life, bearing Aldinamas sigil, the Tree, in honor of her gifts. To this day the School of Life, along with Skyler, Valkyr and Sheoagath still live." I said, finishing the brief summary of the books contents, the last pages to rotted to read, and the ones beyond having perished to mould long ago.
“wow... “ Fyr uttered as I closed the book and set it aside, looking at it for a moment before opening a much larger, more meticulously maintained book.
“Indeed, now...To your lessons, I shall procure more information on the Gods later" I said, adjusting my glasses as the boy slumped with a sigh, but at least this time he kept his word, and did better to focus.
