Just a few more minutes and everything would be over.

Under the shade of a tree in the middle of a street with no name, a young man sat to hide away from the sun. It wasn't that it was a hot day or that the sun got in his eyes, like if any of those things had any effect on him anyway; it was just something he ended up doing by reflex as he thought about his current situation and how it came to be. It wasn't that he didn't love Adam, but this couldn't go on for much longer.

The lion's smile, his words, his personality, even the sex they had; it was all a result of the young man telling him to do it. Otherwise, Adam would've never done anything on his own, nothing would've happened between them, and they both might have been better off. Of course, the young man knew from the beginning that it was going to be like that. It was just a game, yet why did it hurt so much?

The man looked at his watch; it was about time. He stood up and faced in the direction of the café. He didn't want to leave. This place was nice and peaceful. He'd gladly spend more time in it; but if he did, he'd be there for the rest of his life. To stay or to leave, there was no turning back now and he had already made the decision.

-“I should get going."

His legs refused to move, and it took a lot of effort to force them. Step by Step, he slowly walked to the place where his lion awaited. He knew he should've stopped all of this when he started to get feelings for the lion. The moment he saw Adam as something more. When the lion became a person, and the most important one in the human's life.

The lion was meant to just be a quick fling, a way to get rid of stress, nothing more than a talking sex toy. Yet the more time he spent with Adam, the more his opinion changed about him. For the human, the lion was funnier, smarter, kinder, and more real than anyone he knew; so it didn't take long for him to see Adam as a man, a friend, and eventually a lover. These had been the best years of his life, and now he'd end them.

-“Over here!" A lion shouted from across the street.

The young man had second thoughts when he watched the lion waving at him. Would it be so bad to continue with this for one day more? Probably, he didn't know. There was something about Adam that always had that effect on him.

Was it the lion's personality? His looks? A little bit of all? It was a mystery, but that didn't matter anymore. It would all stop today, it had to. So, the young man crossed the street and sat next to the lion. An outdoor table, like always.

-“How's the greatest human in the world?"

-“You know I'm not—“

-“You're at least the greatest to me, Buddy."

Buddy. Real name Buster, the human chose that name when he first turned on the game and it was the one Adam used when talking to him. At times he wished that he had usen a different one, but he always liked when the lion called him like that. It reminded him of the closeness he wanted with him, and that he knew they could never have.

-“I hope you're not mad, but I already ordered. I bought you a Grande Milk Spiced Tea. I know it's your favorite." Of course he did.

Buster drank his tea as he listened to the lion talk about the latest Internet news of things that he liked. Videogames, movies, books, and many other things went out of Adam's lips only to fall in deaf ears since the human had other thoughts on his head.

Tall, strong, confident, a white smile, good looking. It wasn't that weird that the lion had all the things Buster found attractive since that was the kind of guy he was looking for since the beginning. Was he superficial for choosing Adam only for that? Of course, but he had never intended for their relationship to last in the first place.

-“Do you want to go somewhere else?" The lion said, noting the lack of interest in his companion.

Buster nodded. He didn't want to go to the movies, the park, or anywhere else they usually went to. There was only one place he wanted to be with the lion and it was home, so the couple started their way over there. They would normally hold hands in cases like this, but this time Buster limited himself to only walking next to his companion.

His name, the taste of the food at the café, the apartment they shared, their relationship. All lies, and the human was getting tired of them.
