Darios still had his hand on Varshgar's shoulder because he could still feel it. He was thinking of how Varshgar had helped him deal with his anger earlier. Now he wanted nothing more than to return the favor. He tried hard to keep Varshgar's feelings and emotions on the right track. But he soon realized that it was not that easy. Even if he was sure that Varshgar felt the presence of Darios, it was clear that he would hardly have any influence on him.

However, he did not want to give up and kept trying.

Adriana, who had seen the spectacle from the window, realized immediately what was coming.

"It's like when he was to be executed. I can feel his fear." she thought to herself.

The feeling she had already perceived then seemed to be even stronger now. For Adriana, it was as if she had to relive that one moment in the forest. The images kept returning in front of her mind. She broke through this blockade when she realized that it was not the same. Determined, Adriana stepped through the door into the hut and walked toward the two.

Varshgar was still sitting on the chair and Adriana put her hand on Darios.

Now she saw what she had already perceived in the torture chamber.

She could perceive some fragments of what seemed to be happening in Varshgar's mind.

The other thought that came to her mind was that maybe this presence wanted her to see what was going on inside him. But the reason remained hidden from her. Finally, it was Varshgar who turned to her and looked into her eyes.

Now a smile spread on his muzzle.

At that moment the presence gave way to his true self and disappeared again.

Adriana returned his smile and slowly pressed herself against him. Darios had only noticed that Adriana had somehow gotten through to him, but he couldn't explain how.

He took his hand from Varshgar's shoulder and walked over to his desk.

>>Thank you.>> Varshgar whispered in the ear of Adriana who was still pressed against him.

After a moment, she quietly replied:

>>All is well.<< and a smile played around her lips while she felt the comforting warmth of his fur.

His gaze became more serene and the tension now disappeared from him completely. Adriana knew that something much more extensive was going on in Varshgar because she had experienced it before. In the end, Adriana was glad that she seemed to reach him at this deep level of his soul.

Varshgar and Adriana remained for a while until he finally stood up.

On the one hand, he now felt the urge to explain what he had seen. On the other hand, he was not sure if an explanation was needed.

His gaze wandered back and forth between Adriana and Darios.

Finally, Adriana shook her head and said to him:

>>You don't need to explain anything, Varshgar.<<

Darios looked up and nodded.

>>I agree with Adriana. Even if I must admit that I am interested in this event, Varshgar.<<

He bowed his head slightly and finally nodded.

>>I can imagine that. But unfortunately I have no explanation for it. I can only tell you that it has happened before. Out in the forest.<<

Darios nodded again and looked down at his books.

In a silent moment, he finally interjected:

>>I've never experienced this phenomenon before. But I think this might be the key to something. Maybe also to your past. If we are lucky - you first and foremost - this will reveal itself in due time.<<

Varshgar brightened and looked up. The smile in Darios' eyes spoke volumes for him. Even if he seemed to have problems they would not abandon him. Besides Darios and Adriana, he didn't have much left, and they accepted him as he was.

>>Thank you. To both of you.<< Varshgar said, but Darios waved him off.

>>Not for that. You would help us too if the chance presented itself. And I think we need each other.<<

Varshgar was now more determined than ever to put an end to the war. And now it was time to develop a plan how to solve this problem. But Varshgar also knew that this would not happen without fighting.

What he could do now was to prepare himself as best he could. Varshgar nodded to the two and turned to the door.

>>It's time I sharpen my claws.<< he said to the two and walked out of the hut.

Adriana glanced briefly at Darios, and he gestured for her to follow him. Once outside, she saw Varshgar hanging from a branch and doing pull-ups.

She watched him and was impressed how much strength he had. Seemingly effortlessly he pulled himself up again and again. It was so fast that she could hardly keep track of how many he had already done. Varshgar had long taken notice of her and began to smile.

>>Do you want too?<< he asked with a grin.

Adriana shook her head violently and said to him:

>>I can't. I don't have the strength for that.<<

Varshgar continued to smile and nodded. Then he lowered himself one last time and landed back on the ground. He looked into Adriana's eyes, and she returned his gaze.

>>I have to be ready. Too many days have passed without training. Now it's time to start if I want to be ready. But I will need weapons. Unfortunately, mine have been taken from me.<< he said to her and turned around briefly.

Adriana reached out her hand and placed it on his back. He felt the touch of her against his back and he had to smile again.

Slowly she approached Varshgar and said softly from behind:

>>You still have it.<<

Varshgar's eyes opened frantically and just as quickly he turned to face her.

She smiled and reached out for his right paw.

>>Come along.<< She said to him and walked back into the hut with him by the hand. Once there, she walked over to Darios and he was already waiting for them. In front of him on the desk now lay a cloth in which something was wrapped.

>>Open it!<< said Adriana excitedly.

Varshgar didn't know what to do and after a moment of hesitation, he opened the cloth and knocked it aside.

Hidden within it were his long sword and dagger. Likewise, they had recovered the three pieces of his harness that had been made for his blades.

Varshgar looked up and grinned from ear to ear.

He was overwhelmed that they had taken the trouble to recover everything that was his property.

>>You know... I have forgotten much of my past, but... I know one thing for sure. These three pieces are my father's heirlooms.<<

Varshgar was so overwhelmed by the fact that he had received these, to him so important, utensils again that some tears rolled over his cheeks. He was happy and hugged them both.
