Elton's Finest is finally back in business after the long break at the end of the year, the company deciding to make the days between Christmas and New's Year to be a long holiday for its employees after the very hectic year due to the massive collaboration project between the corporation and government. Charles, the manager of Division 3 of the Development Team was having a cheerful mood back from his holiday trip until...

"Hey look, it's the wolf manager in sheep's clothing!" Andy shouted the moment Charles stepped into his office. Some of the other coworkers chuckled at Andy's joke, but they snapped immediately the moment they heard the vile tone from the manager.

"Very funny, Andy, get into my office at the end of the day. We need to... TALK. The rest of you, get the fuck back to work, or I will make sure that your first day back here for this year will be packed with paperwork," Charles warned.

Well, that sure caused an awkward silence. Everyone immediately faced their computers with their heads lowered, with Andy trembling. Charles growled, this is way too early for one of Andy's pranks. There goes his plans to be less grumpy this year, but of course the idiot had to ruin that as soon as possible. He had tolerated his new antics for three months, but enough is enough.

......................

Charles shook his head as he entered his office. What the fuck happened to his best friend? The two entered the company around the same time, with Andy being the only one who kept hanging around him during the breaks. Charles already got used to being alone due to his mannerisms, but he just have a bad luck of having such a kind face that contradicts massively with how brash and straight to the point he is on the others. The moment he opened his mouth, the impact was so much stronger, causing people to shy away from him soon enough. Andy, though? He just won't quit pestering him.

The guy would sit next to him during breaks and asking him to hang out for the weekend. Charles begrudgingly admitted that it's quite nice to have someone at work that knows how to get to his soft interior, similar to his university friends and the animals he befriended at the local shelter close to his house. Hell, at times, he wondered whether he is starting to have feelings on Andy... Nah, can't be. "Might just be confusing myself, I still can't believe we became best friends too," Charles smiled wanely.

However, it became a nightmare once he got the promotion. Andy still kept doing his own thing as before, but he started this weird habit of making jabs at him once he got assigned to his new office. Sure, Charles has less time now to spend with Andy due to the added responsibilities, but he's confident that he did not do anything different to him.

Well, other than the fact that Andy is now his subordinate instead of just another coworker. Charles did mention more than once that Andy had the potential to get that promotion by directing more of this energy on their interactions towards his tasks instead. The manager furrowed his brow, deep in thought. "Does he have an issue about me getting promoted instead of him? That doesn't make sense, though, Andy is a happy-go-lucky guy but... I guess we're not that close after all," he mumbled.

He knew about the other rumors going around the workplace too. Something about him giving a biased treatment on Andy, but it's just... complicated? Sure, the higher-ups have the power to dismiss an employee, but Andy is actually doing a perfect job on his tasks so far, even more than before. Besides, it felt too early for Charles to dismiss the guy over something that could be sorted out with a heart-to-heart moment. Charles huffed at this idea, "Fucking shit. I hate doing this kind of stuff, I'm horrible at it... but..."

It's not like Andy's "wolf in sheep's clothing" statement was insulting either. It was... too accurate, Charles chuckled, but... "How did he even find out? I know I didn't... Was he stalking me at one point or something?" He had to make sure, that's why he forced Andy to meet in his office using his authorities. He sported a feral grin, "Well, let's see how much I can make him squirm, he's not the only one that can be a pain here..."

....................................

The poor guy is fidgeting as he stepped into the wolf's "den." Charles chuckled, "Well, well, looks like the sheep decided to confront the wolf manager, I see? Sit your ass down!"

Andy was contemplating on his life choices, he didn't even realize his body had moved and sat down on one of the chairs in front of the manager's desk. "Wh-what's up, Charles?"

"That's funny," Charles guffawed, "Well, Andy, since you got all the time to do these... interesting activities to your manager..." He dropped a bunch of paperworks in front of Andy's face, smirking. "You can't complain about doing these, right?"

Andy grew pale over this, "B-but that's not fair, Char- Manager. I...!"

Charles slammed his desk, causing Andy to flinch. "No, you don't get to say what's fair here after your stupid pranks. I expected you to be more professional at work, and... I thought we were friends, but I guessed wrong."

Andy lowered his head, "Sorry... I just... Charles, I..."

Charles cut him off, "I don't want to hear it for now. I want these done tomorrow, and I still got some extra papers I need you to grab as well at my place. I want you to be ready to leave once I finish locking up the office. You understand?"

Andy nodded, and he scrambled back to his desk. Charles tried his best to hide his laughter over the frantic sounds, "Payback sure is nice..."

..........................

The trip back to Charles' apartment was awkward. He made sure that the radio is not turned on, even though he knew that Andy shared his sense of music. Charles remembered those times in the past where would sing along to whatever music was on during the last few trips, but he shook his thoughts right away.

"Why the sudden wolf in sheep's clothing talk?" Charles questioned.

Andy stuttered, "Y-you know why, right?" He pointed at Charles' face.

Charles challenged this, he must know more. "No, what don't I know?"

Andy sighed, "Stop playing dumb. You have such a kind face, but you are very grumpy and rude to others. Well, I know you are a nice person underneath all that, but..."

Charles' nose perked at that, did he smell... embarrassment? He swore he saw a blush there, but that's not going to deter him. He gripped the steering wheel harder, "Oh, so you decided to just say it out loud to mock me in front of the others about it?"

Fidgeting his thumbs, Andy apologized, "Sorry, that was very... mean of me, but I... I just..."

"We're here," Charles parked his car. Seems like it's time for phase B, he's going to make sure Andy spill out everything he knows about him.

.....................

"Those papers are in one of the cabinets. Hurry up and collect them for me," Charles ordered as they entered Charles' living room, using the extra space as storage.

Andy groaned, "All right, all right." He got his back facing Charles.

Charles grinned at his scheme. There's no paperwork there, just some random stuff he still keeps over his university years. Thinking that Andy is very distracted at the moment, he went straight to the point. "How do you know about the wolf, Andy?"

Andy sighed, still busy searching the cabinet, looking through notes Charles took in his classes. "This again? I told you, your behavior..."

"I'm giving you one more chance to spit it out, Andy. Do NOT tempt me," Charles warned, as he changed out of his business outfit.

Andy felt goosebumps, "I told you, it's all because of your behavior. I don't know what you want me to say here, Charles!"

"So be it," Charles growled.

........................................

"What the hell are you even..." Andy turned back, and he froze over what he saw. Bright yellow eyes staring at him, with a very feral expression on Charles. "C-Charles?" He stepped back, and gasped as he's trapped with nowhere to go.

"AnDYYYYYY..." Charles grinned as the felt the changes starting. The man made sure to keep staring at the poor Andy as he crawled on all fours, feeling his muscles bulging and his bones cracking and reforming. The excitement over terrorizing his former best friend made him drool from the snout forming on his face, knowing that Andy is petrified over his nails becoming claws, fur covering his growing body, and a tail jutting out. Celebrating the end of his transformation, the towering werewolf howled at the moon.

Andy fell down as he saw... whatever this is. "C-Charles...?" He stuttered.

The werewolf snarled, and showed his sharp fangs at him in response. "Told youuuu to fess up, didn't youuuuu? Now, tell ME, how did you know that I'm a werewolf?"

Andy frantically replied, "I told you, I have no clue about this, I swear! I literally came up with that out of your grumpy attitude!"

Charles cocked his head, "What?" He sniffed the air. Fuck, turns out he's telling the truth after all. He didn't want to use this method on anybody if possible, but...

"Fuck you, Andy! You made me reveal myself, you idiot!" He exclaimed.

Andy countered, "W-well, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to... I promise I won't tell, I swear!" He started sobbing.

"That doesn't fix what you did these past three months! Explain, NOW, before I rip you to shreds," Charles warned. It's a lie, of course, he's not into that. Charles thought that it's best to get the truth at all costs, he knew he's just that close to it.

"I-I don't get what you mean... Really, I don't..." Andy shook his head, staring anywhere other than the werewolf in front of him.

Charles made sure to face his snout really close to Andy's face, pointing one of his claw at Andy's chest. "I can easily smell your emotions, brat. You're hiding something. Right now, I smell fear, guilt, sadness from you, but... embarassment or even excitement? That doesn't make sense, Andy. FESS. UP."

....................

Andy remained quiet for a while. The only sounds that can be heard in the room are the growls and snarls coming from the impatient werewolf.

Andy suddenly pushed Charles away, causing him to yelp at the action. He shouted, "Yes, I'm being an idiot here, all right!? I missed you, damn it! Yes, I am never professional, that's me. I am really happy you got the promotion, but it felt like... there's this wall between us now!"

Andy started crying as he continued, "Yes, I know, it's my own fault for not getting promoted because I am a lazy ass! But I'm fine, I don't care about that at first since we are still in the same team. However, it's getting more and more difficult to hang out with you after that! I was hoping you would ask me to join your holiday trip, but I know that won't happen because of how much of a dick I was and I... I..."

He sighed, "Sorry, Charles, I really am. I'll try making it up to you. I became that stupid teenager with a crush that decided to grab your attention by doing dumb shit like that! I... I...!" He blinked, analyzing what he just said. "A-anyway, happy now?" He tried pretending as if nothing crucial was said, trying to hide his blush.

The werewolf growled, "We were best friends, for fuck's sake. You can just text me, call me during the weekend. You don't have to resort to all this! Fuck, man, what the hell?"

....................................

Andy closed his eyes, ready for a beating. That never happened though, and he heard a deep rumbling voice instead. Charles smirked, he guffawed, "Finally, though, took you long enough. Not very fun when you are the one getting pranked like this, huh? I got a confession out of it, so we're good. NEVER act like this if possible, got that? Also, keep the blush, you look better with it."

Andy nodded, relieved at first. However, he blushed at the realization. "Fucking werewolf senses, of course you heard that. Fine, there you have it! Happy? Also, what in the world is that flapping sound I keep hear..."

Andy froze at the sight, and smirked at Charlie. Charlie's eyes bulged as he realized where the sounds are coming from. His tail wagging triumphantly against the apartment floor at a rapid pace.

...................

Seems like the table has turned. "Soooooo, mind telling me why you are happy about that, you big wolf?" Andy asked with the most annoying tone.

The werewolf harrumphed, crossing his arms on his chest. "No idea what you're talking about," Charles defended with his poker face, but his tail still rebels.

"Come oooonnn, be a good boiii. It's your turn to... fess up, or you won't be getting this," Andy approached the werewolf.

"There's nothing to fess up on my end, it's all you!" Charles growled. "Wh-what are you doing?"

Everything happened in a heartbeat. The last thing he felt was Andy giving him belly rubs, and then he fell on all fours on the apartment floor. As Charles regained his senses, he realized that he's panting, his tail is wagging frantically, and his tongue lolling out of his maw.

Andy chuckled at this, "Well, well, seems like the soft interior is much more adorable now, hmmm?"

Charles tried to snarl, but he whimpered involuntarily instead. "N-no! Y-you're just seeing things! I-it's part of the prank!" He made up an awful lie.

Andy chuckled, "Right you are, wolf, right you are. Now, fess up!" He decided to amp it up on the belly rubs, Andy knew there's something more to Charles' side as well.

The werewolf frantically moved, trying to get away. "H-hah... ALL RIGHT, ALL RIGHT... Fine!" Charles broke free, catching his breath. "I-I'm... in l-love with you too, Andy. I miss seeing the you before the promotion happened. You ended up creating a mess in my head, jackass! Happy?"

The two started to blush even more, redder than a tomato. The werewolf's tail continues to make some small noises over the tension.

Andy sighed, and grabbed Charlie's paws. "Look, bud, I'm sorry for acting like that. I promise I'll make it up to you. I'll... be my true self... the one that... er... c-claimed your heart, I swear."

Charles smiled, "I'm happy we get to sort things out, Andy. Don't be scared to call or text back, all right? I... uh... I'm sure you won't tell anybody about me, right?"

Andy laughed at that, "Of course not, silly! I'm not that much of an asshole!"

Charles chuckled, "Thanks, buddy. Oh, right... You're still doing those paperworks, all right?" He smirked.

Andy groaned, "Fine, fine, I guess that's what I deserved..."

The two cuddled at the sofa for the rest of the night, finally having a proper heart-to-heart moment. The two are free to talk about themselves without the office dynamic, and both Andy and Charlie got to know each other even better from this.

......................

The coworkers gawked on what they see the next day. Paperworks piling on Andy's desk with Charlie giving him a scolding, but the aura... seems different this time? Andy smiled even with the extra work, and they swore they saw their grumpy manager actually sporting a genuine smile for a very brief moment. Charlie immediately did his thing and told them all to "do your FUCKING work for one, staring at me won't finish your job!"

Andy and Charlie did their best on acting professional with each other at work. In fact, Andy seems to be even more productive as usual, causing doubts on the rumors surrounding him regarding his laziness. During breaks, the two would text each other on where to go during the weekend.

Even without these dates though, Andy arranged for a move to Charlie's apartment soon enough. Now, apartment 512 is now occupied by the new couple, with a peculiar sight within shared only between the two.

A towering werewolf sitting on the sofa, with his human boyfriend laying on his belly. The two would either watch some shows on the TV or playing video games together. Once in a while, Charlie would begrudgingly ask for some belly rubs, the werewolf had failed in resisting the temptation after a while. Andy chuckled every time he made the request, and he gladly complied.

Life has never been better for them.
