Devil_raider looks at the message in disbelief. He was surprised he saw it before an admin deleted it at midnight. In fact it was four am where he was but he sleeps during the day. He just got the new virtual reality consciousness game where a persons mind is transported into the game. Actions happen at the speed of thought. No more point and clicking. No more lag. Sure there was a freeware version of the game but those with the money can get one of the beds. Or even rent use of one in any arcade that has them. They have built in safety measures to prevent overuse. Six hours only a day. The only exception is if you have one of the medical class of the bed and then you can have access to the game 24/7. Devil_raider decided to get some sleep and logged off.

Devil took a deep breath of virtual air. A side effect shock to the effects of melding mind and machine. He then looks at his hands. Covered in Leather Gloves. He walks out of the spawn area and enters the starting town of Solomon. Wondering why he did not appear in the City of Glory. Then he remembered he did not reset his home town before logging off last night. “ No matter.” he announced unintentionally and walked up to the warp portal NPC. “ Welcome wayward traveler. Where might you be traveling to. Please remember you can not travel to anyplace where you have not registered in.”
Devil looked at the text bubble floating. Only three options were available. “ City of Glory.”
The bubble of the NPC changed. “ Warning! There is a current guild war in the city between Dragon Wing and Phoenix Talon. The area outside of the town is declared a PvP zone. Do you wish to continue?”
The answer was obvious and Devil walked threw the portal. This would hurt his farming of crystal for a quest but it was not too bad. It would allow him to gain some prestige. Despite the guilds being new they were already clashing heads. In fact the whole game had been around for less than a week sense it's launch. He transferred his computer account to the bed simulator upon instillation of the bed in his house. Still PvP normally means over level jerks who love racking up player kills. And prestige is a collected experience even if it is not shown in your stats. Devil wonders over to the auction shop NPC. “ Welcome to the Trident Auction House. Are you buying or selling?”
“ Browsing.”
“ Okay, what are you looking for equipment, accessories, RCC, consumables, buffs, enhancements, craftables or misc.”
Devil does an inventory check as ten walk by or threw him. It gave him an uneasy feeling when people did that. Especially other bed users. “ Consumables.”
A window appeared. It had potions at all types and costs. At his level lesser potions should be enough and he bought about a hundred for three thousand gold. Next he went to weapons. Again of all varieties and costs. The rare, unique and specials cost a fortune so he bought an uncommon sword to replace his store bought one. Another seven hundred gold. Upgrading his equipment cost another two thousand and a key to the loot box he got from the unique mob was a hundred and fifty RCC. The key was level thirty but the box was level one. It still accepted the key and he got a unique pendent.

As well as a ViP bonus of 25 RCC and one thousand gold. Devil was ecstatic. He had never heard of such an item. No unique item on in the auction house came close to it. Even the level forty items that may have one current level boost. This had near a dozen. He hopped over to the forums and reported the item a bug and put it in his storage pouch, thinking it best not to use it until he heard from an admin about it, before finally leaving City of Glory. What he walked into was a war zone. From the instructions he knew of the tyrants the guilds control but he never suspected that they were actual NPC mobs. On top of the large fighting red dragon and phoenix was the leaders of each guild. Issuing orders to the mobs of players and NPC hires. Devil was barely out of the city border when a high level magic blast sent his health to zero. Escape from the city was impossible while the two guilds warred. Instead of trying to leave the same way again he warped back to Town of Solomon and began the long trek to the Mines of Crystal.
The journey was not hard but long. Along the way he fought several hundred rat mobs, slime monsters, preying birds and about forty other types of mobs. Leveled once and used about three dozen various potions. When he got to the mines he saw the Exadmini again. It was sitting on a rock looking at a pair of butterflies fly around in the same pattern. Devil noticed that it seemed happy. He stood there watching it a bit until a party of three came by. One of them pointed at the Exadmini and the three started to fight it. Immediately one of them cast wall around and the next cast null spell field. Now the Exadmini could not run or warp away. The third person used his crossbow to hit Exadmini for 2.
Exadmini looked worried a bit and charged the closest one to it. Missing wildly as she was prepared. Devil saw immediately their tactics. Dishonest but effective against the small close range fighter. Devil could only watch also as the spells were around him as well. After about five minutes of bait and switch tactics Exadmini curled into a ball. Windows of sobs started. The others just laughed thinking the mob was cool in it's realism. Devil could not take it anymore. “ Hey leave it alone.”
Devil got a message from the crossbow user. “ Find your own Exadmini. This one is ours.”
Devil drew his Sawblade Longsword. “ I said leave him alone.”
Devil lunged for the archer but the level thirty five druid protected his buddy. This player had a bed like him as he had a voice. “ Listen kid. It is admirable but it is a mob. It will respawn and you can make friends with that one.”
The druid pushed Devil back with his shove skill and Devil responded with his lunge skill. Which the passive skill dodge activated and Devil landed on his face. Right beside of Exadmini. That is when he saw something. Tears! The mob was crying. As if in actual pain. Devil stroked it's back. “ I'm here to help.”
The others had stopped their attack and laughed. “ I'm recording this kid. This is funny.”
Devil got back up to his feet and felt a bolt hit his shoulder. His life points dropped to less than ten. “ Give up now before we send you back to a respawn.”
David used some potions and the arrow vanished but it will take some time to get their full effect. “ Why don't you leave Exadmini alone?”
The druid slouched his shoulders. “ Fine, lets kill them both then. We will not get much prestige from killing someone so under our level but we will get some.”
Exadmini raised to it's feet. A message bubble appeared. “ Equip present.”
Devil remembered the pendent. He quickly equips it and a gold glow covers him. Exadmini seemed changed as well.
