“That's….just awful."
It's unfortunate but that's how it happend. We killed her family and ruined the young girl's body. Our hearts and minds were destroyed long ago and what was left was anger. I know for a fact that she'll remember my face, it will be rooted deeply into her memories well within her adult years. All I have say is that she was at the wrong place and at the wrong time.
“That doesn't give you the right to do that to someone who had nothing to do with you!"
You can say all you want After im finished telling everything so please let me continue. Anyway, when i agreed to stay with him, Vincent decided to tell me something that he thought i was trustworthy enough to know. I was understandably skeptical at first but he was serious from the very start.
“If by any chance that the human race ever faced annihilation through the course history, then a machine far more ancient then even alpha itself will be activate." Vincent starred up towards the stars, feeling the cool night Breeze hit against his pale skin. “My dad once was apart of a secret organization with the sole purpose of ensuring the activation of such of a thing. He was barely home most of the time and when he was home, he usually goes straight to bed and sleep." I was confused, what he was saying didn't make sense to me but I stayed silent and listened on.
“Dex, this machine known simply as the Nursery. Meant to recreate living organisms from scratch, using tremendous amounts of energy to perform such a task. Six times it has been used over the course of our existence. This will be the seventh time if it hasn't been discovered by the beast already." From what i learned in my History classes, queen helios was the first to bring humanity out from the darkness. Merging all of the kingdoms to create a single, unified race that lasted for a millennium but they never said anything about her creating a machine just in case we all perished. The fact that he said it was used six times brought up even more questions for me.
“She chose me to be her better, to bring about a new golden era for all of humanity and I want you to be apart of it Dex!" His words felt powerful, I was taken aback from the sudden change of atmosphere. “All we have to do is find the Nursery and reawaken it from its long slumber. Everyone who died could be reborn again with a twist of a key. All you need to do is surrender your life to me Dex and I shall make your dreams come true!" He stood from this position and walked out to the front lawn, slowly stretching both his arms out while never tearing his gaze from me. In that moment, I felt something that i thought would never come back: hope.
Even if it was all just speculation from my perspective, that it was all just a rant from delusional boy. I wanted it to be true either way. If what Vincent said was true and he is able to bring everything back to what they use to be then it was all the more reason to stay. He would have been a champion, a child who was able bring us back from the brink.
It was obvious from that point. “I give my heart and soul to you Vincent! Just…..bring everything back to normal." I wasn't sure why I broke down in front of him but the tears never stopped falling. He said what i wanted to hear and it made me cry like a baby. “I thought so but from this point on, you shall address me by my true name. A name that the world and beyond would grow to love and fear!"
“I am king Aelius ! The rightful heir of queen helios and her loyal subjects." that sent chills down my spine when he declared his name. Vincent wasn't playing around at all, I tell from those eyes of his. “KNEEL BEFORE YOUR KING DEX!"
The sun came creeping over the horizon right behind Vincent, slowly rising up above his head right on que. This was the path I choose, no where else to go. All I ever wanted was to live a normal life and he was certain that it will be possible to bring it all back. My body moved on its own without my asking, bringing me down to one knee with one arm placed around my lower back while the other was place on my heart. I closed my eyes, tears still streaming down my cheeks as I slightly hung my head.
I couldn't tell from my position but i somehow knew that he smiling. He convinced me that even in the face of uncertainty, Vincent gave me hope. Unfortunately, that hope was already dead and our fate was sealed from the start.
