“I believe that was where law enforcement officers found you correct?"

That's right. I couldn't exactly move with one functioning leg so I didn't have any other choice but to wait for my death. Surprisingly, they didn't gun me down. One of them, a white furred hare with the long floppy ears rushed down the hill to my side. She had on a uniform that closely resembled the police officers within our cididals. What really caught me off guard though was when she asked me if I was ok.

“Why did that surprised you?"

At the time, I didn't believe that it would be possible for your kind accomplish such a feat. My mind was a complete blank while the hare waited for a response. Eventually, she picked me up from the ground and hopping back up the hill, taking care not cause further pain. I saw more of the them waiting for us at the top, to the most common species, to those I thought were extinct by the hands of our ancestors. The lady carried my frail body to some sort of mini stretcher that was quickly assembled by her peers. She gently placed me down onto the thing and strapped me down.

Two large beastmen then lifted me up with little effort and proceeded to move out of forest. I was able catch a glimpse of hunter off where we left him. He had a wolf and a bull standing over with, taking pictures of his body. His eyes were completely glazed over with tears that once flowed down his cheeks, now dried up. His hands were tightly wrapped around a large hunting knife that was wedge deep inside his chest. The blood was much darker in color due to it being exposed to the outside air.

I called out his name but he did not respond, he didn't even move a muscle at the sound of my voice. All he did was just sat there, with that painful look in his face. Eventually, they took me out of the woods and towards the wrecked vehicle that we stole. I was taken to ambulance truck with two medical personnel waiting for any injured. Once I was dropped to their care, the two beastmen carrying me ran back to woods, probably to track Vincent. I'm guessing you couldn't pick up his trail.

“Well Dex…. That's the puzzling part. I read the reports over and over but it seemed like the only scent we able to track was yours alone."

Hmph, Vincent must have been long gone before you found me.

“Well, that's the thing, there was no other scent other than yours alone. Usually, when someone tries to conceal their presence, there would be least be some sort of clue that indicates such a action but we found none. Only one set of footprints, which were yours dex."

IMPOSSIBLE! Vincent was with me the entire time, don't give me that bullshit.

“Dex, are you aware of this phenomenon known as the queens madness? It's extremely rare within the human population that only seem to affect young children such as yourself. It's basically a stronger version of Dissociative Identity Disorder. I believe Vincent was just a byproduct of this disorder that you seem to have."

Shut up! Vincent was very much real to me, he was real to all of us and you dare say such things to me? I told you everything just i could have some sort of peace of mind and you decide tell me that I was a lying?

“After witnessing the destruction of your home, you couldn't accept the reality that humanity was defeated so your mind slowly constructed this 'ideal' champion that would save the human race from the brink as a coping mechanism. However, when you were attacked and nearly killed by Cooper, the champion that resided within your head took on a life of its own and took control at that very moment."

Dex, you wanted to see things back to normal and yet another part of you wanted to be the hero of the story. You wanted to be just like queen Helios herself. The woman that your worshipped as a god long ago. That's where Vincent came into the picture.

He….I….I d-don't understand. I'm not crazy or anything. Mira, hunter, everyone thought that he was real. They followed him to very end, are you telling me that they aren't real either?

“They followed YOU dex. Every last one of them looked up to you for leadership.Everything he did was you all along. Still, your memories must have been greatly affected by this second personality."

No…. I refuse to believe this. You are telling me nothing but lies.

“Believe what you want dex but this concludes our interview. Take in this information and reflect upon it. Thank you for your time, I'll see myself out."

Doc, I know you're the one that said all those things about me. You thought I was insane from the very beginning right? I'm just some psychopath to you huh? I couldn't forgive him for leaving me behind but the fact that someone I trusted would say such things behind my back.

“Dex please forgive me. I just wanted to hel-"

HELP ME? You animals stole everything that I ever loved. I thought you were different from the rest of them doc but it's all a fucking lie. I can hear them screaming at me, there dead eyes staring at me. I can feel them reaching out for me, the screaming is getting louder and louder. It I die, they'll grab hold of me and never let go.
