Chapter 11: The day after

As Toby slowly woke up, he already knew why an anthropomorphic wolf was lying next to him on the couch. He realized quickly that he was in his dream world again and that James had been transformed now too, which would mean that it wouldn't take long for this change to also apply in the real world.

Bright orange sparks suddenly appeared out of nowhere, forming a big oval-shaped portal.

“Where are you going?" James asked appalled.

“You'll find out in just a minute," Toby answered smirking to James, while he slowly walked through the portal. He could faintly hear: “What do you mea-“ behind him, but it was quickly gone as the portal closed itself behind him. He was now standing in the same room he just was in, but James was sleeping on the right part of the couch again.

Toby slowly walked towards him, caressing his fur just like before. But now his senses were much more intense, and he was able to feel every strand of fur stroking his scales.

“Welcome back bud," he said proudly.

After carefully explaining everything that happened the last few days, James was slowly starting to understand how all this came to be. This sounded counterintuitive to James, but he remembered Toby explaining his ability to make changes to the public.

“Ok, what place do you suggest?" James asked in an interested tone.

Toby raised his paw, stroking his sharp chin; “How about the swimming pool. It's not too far from here and we may be able to even have some fun!"

“This actually doesn't sound too bad," Jake had to admit. “So, do you want to give us a ride?"

“Sure, why not. This way James can experience how it is to fly with a real-life dragon," Toby suggested smirking.

James was visibly getting red at the idea of riding Toby.

Toby was now positioning himself on all fours, just like he did at his first fly with Jake and gestured at James and Jake to get on.

“Thanks! We will!" Toby smiled back and signaled his friends to follow. They quickly walked into the locker room together.

James had to wipe off the smirk on his face as he realized they didn't have to change.

“Are we just gonna go naked out there?" he asked for reassurance.

“Of course! I told you nobody notices that about us!" Toby explained for what felt like the one hundredth time.

They then went on to the shower room and showered quickly until going into the swimming hall.

“So here we are..." Toby announced proudly.
