Ridixin (Part 3)
I bet you can't figure out who Terra is based off of. Also, notice that 2/3 of my stories are amnesiac stories. Good or bad?
Ow. The first thought that comes to me as I open my eyes, seeing that I’m in some sort of den with no exit, or entrance, for that matter, and that I’m laying on another something, this one soft. Where am I? How did I get here? ...Who am I? As I come to my senses, I realize there's something sticking into me, as well. I try to stand up, but that just hurts me more. Looking to the right, I see some sort of square, with sunlight shining through it. Then, to the left, a rectangle of light opens up. I'm in no position to run, and all I can do is back away and bark, angrily, at the figure looming over me.
It, the thing with two legs and strange fur, touches the container, so I take this chance to bite at it, and it jumps back with a sound of pain. Serves it right. Clutching its bleeding paw, it starts talking at me. I can’t understand the words, but the sound of them is calming, so I let my tail droop a little, still staying on guard. From a small alcove attached to its torso, it pulls out some meat and a bright object, containing water, which are placed in front of me through a few slats. Now I'm confused, and scared, so I whimper a little. A sharp pain courses through my right, back leg, causing me to yelp. The pain starts dissipating, and I see that the thing that was sticking into me is also gone, whatever that was. I growl as the bipedal creature walks away, slamming any chance of escape right in my face. I am hungry, though. Hungry and tired, confused and scared. Swaying on my paws, I question the intent of that creature as I struggle to stay conscious.
And now I'm conscious again, with less pain. I realize I can stand up with next to no pain, which is a substantial improvement. I'm caught off guard when I hear the gentle voice say, "Hey." Startledly turning around, I notice a she-wolf, with white fur and bright purple eyes. I look her up and down, and quickly notice that her front left leg is… off. “Nice to see another wolf. My name is Terra. What’s yours?” “I don’t actually know.” I reply. With a sad smile, she says, “Oh. Not the first time I've heard this. Well, this is the “recovery” room, where the humans see how fast you can run and help you to recover enough to get back into the wild.” I'm about to ask what humans are, but I decide I’ll ask later. “You say that like it’s a bad thing.” “It is if you’ve been “recovering” for three years.” Three years. I feel pity for Terra. To spend three years in this strange place. “Ouch."
