Broken Pieces

Chapter Twelve

By Roofles

Logan and Domino dropped Clem off at work.

As by the Alpha’s command, everyone was forced to be paired up with someone else. Leaving Logan stuck with Domino and Clem. The boxer would be safe at work while the other two began searching for the missing wolf. Wisely, Logan decided it was best not to show up at a police station with a wolf in the passenger seat. Instead, he dropped the boxer off a block away and took the long way around after making sure Clem got inside safely.

As a dog, neither of the three worried about Clem’s safety. It was kind of the same with Logan. As a human, even associating with canines and wolves, he would mostly go unmolested, unnoticed, and untouched. A background fixture in the city. It went unsaid that the two were there for Domino’s sake, not their own.

They still wanted to make sure their friend was okay before leaving him for the day. One less thing to worry about.

It was a funny exchange, Logan had to admit. Smiling as he watched Clem say goodbye to Domino from the corner of his eye. The two had been crudely forced together by Logan a year ago. The human knew what the two were into and knew they’d be a good match for one another if they could get over being a dog and a wolf.

Something that was still frowned on by society.

They were trying to make it work, just like the rest of them. One day at a time. They had their ups and downs, and Logan was slowly being drawn into it all. Even now, he was sitting there as the third wheel as the two said their awkward goodbyes.

Domino had growled as the boxer stood there, not saying anything at first. It always started like this. The wolf wanting to say something to the boxer but feeling uncomfortable about it. Domino wasn’t much for words and hoped his actions spoke louder. The issue was, he was nervous about showing any kind of affection to… anyone.

Logan would know, having somewhat dated the guy for over a year.

“I’ll look away,” Logan chuckled at the display. With a roll of his eyes, he glanced out the side window, watching the two from the side view mirror as the odd exchange took place.

“You’ll be back tonight…?” Clem asked in a soft voice, trying to ignore Logan listening in.

“Tonight. Yes. Logan and I will go around town for the day and swing back when you are off the clock.” Domino nodded at the dog whose stubby tail wagged at that. Clem tried not to let it show. Tried not to let it show he was excited by the news.

“Whatever. It’s not like I’ll be waiting or anything.” Clem grumbled, folding his muscular arms over his broad chest, turning away from the wolf. It was clear and painfully obvious that Clem was struggling not to smile the entire time, forcing his body not to react to the thought of being picked up by them after work.

Clem had fallen into a peculiar place within the pack. He was a dog, something most the other wolves couldn’t overlooked. However, they also knew he was a close friend and ally to Reese, their Alpha. Once they discovered that Clem and Logan both worked for the police station in order to keep them all safe, things changed. They began treating Clem with warm smiles, pats on the back and even offered a space for him at the table.

Brown nosing the guy in hopes that when they did anything illegal or questionable, he’d overlook their crimes and let them go. It was nice to have an inside man, someone who seemed to be on their side for a change. The police force weren’t known for treating wolves or any predators favorably.

Clem was still a dog though and it was hard to overlooked centuries of animosity between the two species. The fact Clem and Domino were a thing only complicated matters further. Domino putting anyone who questioned their relationship or got on Clem in their place.

Just as Reese had to do with anyone who questioned his and Alan’s relationship. Wolves could be so dramatic that Logan was already feeling exhausted getting pulled into their mess.

“We’ll order pizza tonight.” Domino went on and the dog’s ears perked up.

“At our new place…?” Clem asked, glancing over and Domino smirked at that.

It was a silly thing. How simple this was. The two of them talking like this out in the open. It shouldn’t mean as much as it did. It meant so much more than Logan, a human, could ever understand. A dog and a wolf talking, communicating with one another without either party trying to rip the other’s throats out.

In a way, it was a sign of the changing times Logan had to admit. Admit that Reese was doing a pretty damn good job being Alpha. If a dog like Clem and a wolf like Domino could date, then maybe there was a chance for the rest of them to have somewhat normal lives. It was wishful thinking, but the idea wasn’t bad, no. It was kind of nice.

It made it worth getting up in the morning for. Wishful dreams of a better tomorrow.

Logan rested back, closing his eyes as the two nuzzled quickly before pulling apart.

“What about him?” Clem asked and Logan cracked an eye open to look over at the two facing towards him now.

“I’m stuck with him.” Domino snorted and Logan rolled his eyes.

“Hey, I didn’t ask your Alpha daddy to assign you to me.” Logan let out a single harsh laugh at the idea. “I prefer going solo.”

“We both know you don’t end up solo, though.” Clem had to say, getting on Logan for his bedroom habits as he rested in Dominos window, looking at the human. The action, though small, made the wolf perk up.

“What can I say? I got a purty face.” Logan flashed Clem an award-winning smile. If Logan didn’t have such heavy bags under his eyes, if he were clean shaven or had even taken a shower that morning he would’ve been a handsome bastard.

Now, Clem’s ears just folded back looking at his friend. Logan had been pushing himself this past year and it was beginning to catch up to him. Running on caffeine wasn’t good for ones looks. He was thinner than he had been. His hair didn’t have that lush sheen to it. It always looked like Logan wasn’t fully there, his thoughts elsewhere and…

“Hey, Logan…?” Clem asked, shuffling his feet now.

“What’s up, doggo?” Logan covered a yawn. “I need my coffee, make it quick.”

“Are you…” Clem struggled to ask the simple question. It had only been in the past couple years that the two had even begun to talk to one another. They both worked for the police force and yet Clem, other than in passing, had never had a full conversation with the human.

Not until after what had happened underground. Not before that had happened…

Clem still had night terrors about it. Being locked away down there with a knife brushing the side of his face, a tiger toying with his life. Logan jumping in to save him. Risking his life to do so. Nearly dying in the process. The smell. The blood. The heat in the air as it all begun to burn…

The boxer shuddered and not from the cold.

Clem, despite how thickly muscled he was, wasn’t a fighter like the others. He did his job, he made sure Reese, and his friends were safe, but he was a street cop. Logan teased him constantly about it. That he was just a glorified meter maid. And the thing was? Clem liked that. He liked being safely pushed to the side, out of the way and forgotten.

After all, if he was just a nobody meter maid. It meant that he wasn’t the one responsible for going after his friends.

All he cared about was his newfound family. His friends and those who meant everything to him. Clem didn’t want to change the world, just protect those he cared within it.

He just wished he could do more, seeing Logan. This human. And how he had changed after that place, The Market, and what it had done to him. To both of them. And what the absence of such a place meant for the city.

Crime rates from predators had increased nearly tenfold. Where things had begun to become stable, they were in a downward spiral towards anarchy on the streets. There were more homeless. More thefts and robberies. More random attacks on the street.

People needing to scratch that itch…

Some scars were visible, like the ones on Logan’s back that he needed to keep cover. Those were the ones you knew about, the “Easy” ones to deal with. Something tangible that you could run your finger over and touch. To feel. To know the pain that they caused without words. Something everyone could understand without words.

Some scars weren’t so obvious. Hidden away by forced smiles and fake laughs. “I’m fine.” They’d say. “It’s nothing.” They’d lie. “It’s all good now.” Whatever it took to stop others from bombarding them with questions, answering however they wanted the other person to hear so they’d stop trying to touch those unseen scars.

For those scars, when touched, burned worse than any hot iron, they stung worse than any bee and they were wounds that never fully healed. Only crusted over, waiting to be reopen again. And again. And again…

Like a bad itch.

Like an untreated addiction.

A hunger, festering and gnawing at your stomach wanting to be filled…

“What?” Logan asked and the smile didn’t reach his eyes. He looked so tired. The two knowing, now, what was under the mask he always wore. The happy-go-lucky human that tried to hide his scars.

“Are you doing okay…?” Clem’s voice whined at the end. He was thankful when Domino butted in.

“I’ll keep an eye on him. Let you know if anything comes up. Alpha’s orders.” Domino told Clem and the boxer finally nodded at that, backing away and waving them off.

“More like I’ll keep an eye on you,” Logan tried to say, to get on Domino about, but another yawn took him, and he cursed. “Fuck, I need coffee. See you tonight, sugar.” Logan winked at Clem who just rolled his eyes and flipped him off as Logan pulled out onto the street quickly and sped off.

After getting some crude breakfast at a fast-food place, Domino gawking at the price of the food, the two got some bean juice to fuel their day. Parked in an empty lot, Logan was on the phone after finishing his second cup of coffee as Domino poked at the strangely colored meet with a claw, trying to figure out what the hell it was even made from.

“Just checking in.” Logan said over the phone as he rested back in the car. It was an ugly impala that he’d gotten off the lot. He didn’t need to travel far, he just needed something to travel in. “I’ll be going radio silent for a while. Got a big case that landed on my lap…”

The other line was silent as Domino, sitting in the passenger seat, glanced over at him. The wolf was stuffing a fake meat patty into his face, his cheeks full as ketchup dripped from the tip of nose. Swallowing loudly, Domino dabbed a napkin over his face looking away now. His ears were perked, and they turned listening in on the phone call.

Logan rolled his eyes and pushed the wolf’s face away just thankful Domino didn’t say anything about the phone call.

“Is it dangerous…?” A heavy voice asked from the other line and Logan smiled hearing it.

“I’ll be okay. I got back up, this time.” Logan chuckled. “They’re forcing me to sleep, eat three square meals a day, you name it. I’m fine.” Logan said and yet still had to cover another yawn that threatened to escape him.

Hoping the person on the other line hadn’t heard it.

“When will I hear back from you…?” There was a low, deep growl from the phone. That of a large, annoyed predator. “You’ve been out a lot lately. It’s like you don’t even live here anymore…”

“Later, Sloan. You’ll hear from me later. I got a lot on my plate. Just like you do.” The human said giving a wink to Domino to ease the wolf’s tension. He could practically feel it building up in the car. “Work is work as they say. Not a cake walk. Or cup of tea? Or whatever they fuck they say, sorry,” he yawned. “Tired.”

The other line went quiet before Sloan asked, speaking his worried thoughts aloud.

“Is this another one of your… contacts?” The lion on the other line asked and Logan felt his breath catch in his throat.

“N-no. Not like that. I don’t do that anymore. I promised you.” Logan sighed, shaking his head. “Remember our agreement? I won’t go around sleeping with nobodies, anymore. Too dangerous. Fuck, I can’t exactly do that anyways. Everyone in the underground knows I’m a cop now after what happened back then. My cover was blown, so now I can’t blow.” Logan chuckled at the crude humor. “It sucks. And not in the good way.”

Logan could practically hear Sloan rolling his eyes.

“Right. Right…” Sloan muttered on the other end. “Just stay safe and contact me the second you can.”

“Of course. I promise…” Logan said as his eyes fell. He held the phone, staring down at the steering wheel wondering how he got here.

His ex-lover was in the passenger seat while he talked with his current, somewhat, lover over the phone. The two had agreed to keep their relationship open. It was supposed to make things less complicated and yet, somehow, made it feel like Logan was walking on broken glass. Afraid to get cut by stepping wrong around the lion.

Or the wolf, sitting next to him.

It was so much easier cutting these boys loose after using and abusing them as Logan had in the past. And here he was talking to one of his old contacts with the other one sitting right next to him. He was living such a strange life these days.

While hunting for his previous lover, a mass murderer that was known as The Butcher of Seattle.

Life could never be so easy.

“How are you… then? I mean,” Sloan was the one to laugh as he scratched over his mane with sharp nails. The large feline rested back in his cushioned leathered office chair. It was studded and the leather had been imported from overseas. It was sleek black, and Sloan loved resting in it as his assistant serviced him…

He missed it. Missed his assistant under his desk, between his paws, between his legs. Missed the feel of the human pressed against his body, lost in his warm embrace.

“I’m a detective now, Sloan. Not a street cop. Like, officially now, I am one. I’m using other channels to crack cases open and find the clues and evidence I need to have these scumbags put down. I don’t have to go sleeping with every contact to get that info. Anymore. And… And I got a partner, now.” Logan tried not to let the disdain in his voice show as he glanced over at the wolf.

Domino snorted in reply.

He hadn’t wanted to get Domino involved in any of this and here he was, stuck with the wolf. At least Clem was safe back at the police station going over old files and case reports trying to see if any of them mentioned a missing wolf in them. The boxer would be safe there. They’d pick him up that night just to make sure nothing happened to him.

Just to make sure no one else would go missing…

“Congratulations, again, on that.” Sloan said from the phone. “We really do need to celebrate one of these days. On your promotion and… and on your new position here. We have a lot to catch up on.” It was clear Sloan just wanted Logan around again.

Logan missed those days. Looking back on them, things had been so simple back then.

“If we can find the time.” Logan paused.

“Logan…” The lion let out his breath as he sat up in the chair. Logan could hear it squeak and protest from the massive lion’s weight shifting in it. “You don’t have to…”

“I do.” Logan cut him off. “I have to do this, Sloan. I have to know. I can’t… I can’t let him get away, again. Not again. After I find him, Sloan. I’ll… I’ll think about it. What you said. What you offered me, in earnest. I just. I can’t. Not until I find and put that fucking cat down…” Logan hadn’t realized how hard he’d been gripping the steering wheel until Domino’s hand touched the top of his.

The human glanced over at him, before letting out his breath and giving Domino a thankful nod. Sometimes things were easier when you had a partner, like this, watching your back. Something Logan was still trying to adjust to. He’d be a wreck without Domino and Clem watching his back.

He’d bitten his lip so hard it bled, and the taste of iron filled his mouth. It was better than the metallic taste, at least, from the previous night…

The taste of metal. Logan’s issued Glock 22, barrel up, pointing into his mouth as he closed his eyes late in the middle of the night. There were sirens passing by in the street. A harsh reminder where the city was going. His hands had been shaking, finger on the trigger as he…

It hadn’t been his best moment.

Logan wasn’t sure if he’d be here if it weren’t for the two of them. Sloan had called him in the middle of the night when Logan hadn’t shown back up at his place. As the current Mane of The Pride, Sloan didn’t have the luxury to go out as he’d liked anymore. He still made sure the door, and his bed, were open for Logan. Keeping that offer on the table.

Logan hadn’t returned but he was still there, thanks to that single phone call.

He’d spent all night searching. Every street, every back corner, every hole in the ground… Logan had hit up his old contacts, cashing in on the favors they owed him after helping them in the past. He couldn’t let Vinnie’s life, his old friend, be forgotten. Logan had to find him. One thing after another, using every resource available to him… and still coming up empty.

Mikail was MIA. There were no signs of the tiger in the city. Domino had tried to assure Logan that he had died back then, in the tunnels. Logan couldn’t believe that. He couldn’t just except that without evidence. He needed to see the body. To make sure there was no pulse. Put a bullet in his head, just to make sure that tiger couldn’t get back up…

He’d turned to other sources, and they had gladly welcomed him in if it meant his services could be used. Logan would use whoever he could in order to confirm Milo’s death.

It didn’t make it any easier. The late nights, the sleepless days… Not until Reese ordered him to come back for “A party.” Logan thought it was odd until the wolf had told him to search for a missing member of their pack. Gristle.

Gristle Elysium was Maulers, one of the previous Alphas, brothers. Logan couldn’t confirm if they were biologically related or not. Still, Gristle had been an important member of the pack and a key figure that had just disappeared one day.

According to Reese, Gristle had taken his nephew, PB, and holed up in some retirement community up north. It was supposed to end there. The old wolf needing to retire anyways. He hadn’t and now PB was staying with The Pack and Gristle was missing.

“More missing predators…” Logan just added Gristle to the ever-growing pile.

How sad was that, Logan thought. Not the fact that predators were going missing, there was a sick irony in that after what he’d seen at The Market. The most fucked up part was, Logan had been glad. Glad for a case to fall on his lap, to distract him from these thoughts.

These thoughts of orange with black stripes…

Domino had been all over Logan’s ass this past week. Making sure Logan was sleeping, that he wasn’t doing work in the middle of the night and threatening to handcuff him to the bed if he even thought about trying to leave. Domio had been serious. There was no lewd innuendo about it and Logan relented because of that. Domino would order food if need be to make sure they had something to eat and there was freshly brewed coffee each morning…

It was something Logan wasn’t used to having in his life.

Stability. A routine.

Was this how life was supposed to be? Living with someone that… cared? Logan didn’t get it. He couldn’t comprehend and was waiting for the other shoe to drop. Waiting for Domino to ask something of him. To demand a favor or be compensated in some form or fashion.

The wolf never did.

It left Logan feeling… numb.

“Was this how it’s supposed to be…?” Logan didn’t know. He didn’t know what a normal life was. Not after that day when he lost his brother.

In a way, Logan felt envious of Alan who could somehow go back to normal after everything he’d been through. Living with his mate, helping out with his new family and The Pack… it was something Logan wasn’t sure if he’d ever be able to do.

After… after he found the answers he was looking for, what left was there left for Logan? More distractions? More pills? More drinks to wash them down with? Some life to look forward to…

“If things get rough, we can always go back to The Den. I’m sure Reese will understand you need a breather.” Domino had even offered him, willing to take the Alpha’s punishment if it meant Logan could get some rest.

The Den was the new stronghold within pack territory. It was a bar that the wolves had constructed and built themselves. It was located close to the Alpha’s house and was the main place to check in at. It served drinks and food and was a great place to swap war stories and relax after a long days work.

Or find someone to hook up with.

While thankful for the offer, Logan didn’t have it in him to rest. He knew if he stopped, he wouldn’t get back up again. Something about working kept his mind focus and his resolve firmly solidified. He was afraid if he dared to let his guard down, again, it would fade away and the next time that tiger came knocking, he wouldn’t be prepared.

Logan wasn’t willing to lose anyone else to Milo and, even if it tore him apart, he’d keep looking until he dragged that striped feline out of whatever hole he’d crawled into by the tail.

“I’ll be checking in later in the week.” Logan finally ended the call with. “You have a lot on your plate as well Mr. Kincaid,” Logan teased, feeling far more relaxed after checking in. Just hearing Sloan’s voice, like the other night, helped. It was a medicine Logan didn’t know he needed to take. “Don’t go getting distracted now on me. You got big plans for the future if I recall.”

“I’ll keep the bed warm.” Sloan said in reply and Logan smiled at that. Just knowing he had a place to return too was comforting.

Hanging up, Logan looked over at the wolf who was trying to appear as if he hadn’t heard the entire conversation.

“Well?” Logan prodded Domino’s side.

“Well, what?” Domino grumbled, still refusing to look at him.

“You aren’t going to say anything about it…?” Logan teased. A part of him felt bad doing so. Teasing his ex like this. Another part of him enjoyed it immensely. There was something so satisfying teasing a big predator like Domino and Sloan that just got Logan going.

“It’s not like we’re together, anymore… if we ever were.” Domino grumbled at the end, staring down at the empty packages of food. This conversation left a worst taste in his mouth than the food had.

“Dom.” Logan sighed, about to start in on that again.

“I’ll clean this up.” Domino gathered all the trash up and kicked the door open before hauling it all out. The wolf didn’t even care as several wrappers fell to the ground. Just needing some fresh air. Needing his space from the human to think.

While Logan had talked to Domino about it all, it was clear the wolf was still adjusting to how things were. They were friends now, nothing more. The two might be friends with benefits but little else after that. Something Domino still wanted even after hooking up with Clem, needing someone else there to fill the void Logan left behind.

“Sex is just sex.” Logan had tried to explain. “It’s a bodily reaction we all have. Hell, even an asexual dude can still get off if need be. It’s just biology. It feels good. Releases endorphins into your system and you get that high we all crave… that’s it, Dom.”

Domino hadn’t handled it well. The wolf had left his old pack, Vicky’s crew, to be with the human. A human who hadn’t even wanted him. It had all been a lie in the end. A part of Domino wished he’d stood his ground with his old pack, dying in that club instead of living with survivors guilt… The wolf was conflicted over it all. Logan had saved his life because of that lie. Logan had even brought him to a new, better pack and still…

Still…

“I care for you. I do.” Logan admitted the next time Domino had brought it up.

“I gave up everything for you.” Domino had pleaded, it hadn’t been a pretty sight. The wolf had drank too much that night and was a mess after. Tears soaked the fur on his cheeks and snot ran down from his nose. He was hiccupping and swaying, holding onto Logan just so he wouldn’t fall over as he begged the human to come back to him. “I can be better! I’ll make more money! I’ll give your space! I’ll do whatever you ask of me, just tell me. Tell me what I have to do!”

It had only gone downhill from there as the wolf howled, vocalizing his pain over it.

“I was willing to sacrifice everything as well, Dom. For you. I did it for you. I had to make sure you were okay.” Logan was thankful Clem had shown up shortly after that to help out with the drunken wolf. He wasn’t sure what to say.

What do you say to the man you slept with after the night came to an end and they were still there? Logan could lie. He was good at that. He could tell the wolf whatever Dom wanted to hear but Logan didn’t want to be that guy anymore. He wanted to be better.

And fuck, it was hard to be a truthful, honest person.

“Everything. I gave. Everything…” Domino had to be carried into a side room to sleep it off, the boxer helping Logan do so.

“I’ll stay with him.” Clem waved Logan off who needed a breather of his own.

It was so much simpler to never see someone again after you slept with them. No text. No calls. Just cut them off completely. Ghost them if you have too. This had been one of the few times Logan couldn’t. And it hurt. He hated this. This horrible feeling inside after it all. Seeing Dom like that, after the wolf told him he was fine…

Logan started drinking that night.

“We’ll swing by my place first,” Logan said as Domino got back in the car. He returned to work mode, needing to focus right now and not let this fester between the two any further than it already had. Logan needed to rely on Domino and, even knowing the wolf would, he needed Domino to trust him. To have his back when the time came.

“The one with the cat?” Domino said far more viciously than he meant to. The wolf pulled back, ears folding back. “I meant… that’s not what I meant…”

“I have my own apartment, Dom.” Logan glanced over at him before pulling out of the empty lot and back onto the road. “I stay with The Pack every now and then. I crash at Sloan’s place when I’m over there. The police station has a few rooms in the back when needed... My car if nothing else.”

Domino gave a derisive snort. It was impossible to tell what he meant by it.

“What was that for?” Logan felt the anger beginning to bubble up. Domino could act so childish sometimes. The two had been fighting a lot lately and still, Domino stayed around. He stuck through it. Wanting to work something out.

And Logan… Logan didn’t know what to do.

“You have more places than just those…” Domino gritted his teeth, chewing on them as if there were a piece of cartilage between them from the fake meat they’d eaten. “You forgot one.”

Logan had to take a second on that, thinking it over. He had a few other places, sure, he could catch some shut eye at. Those places, though, Domino shouldn’t know about. The human was about to say something about it when Domino harshly continued.

“My place.” Domino just stated and Logan had to give him a second look at that. “Our place,” the wolf’s ears splayed out. “I meant… I meant our place. Clem and I… and those other dogs. Our place is always open for you. If you need. You don’t have to share my bed, just… don’t share with one of the others dogs, if I’m there. Okay?”

“Togo?” Logan offered and Domino gave a curt nod in reply. “You all got a place together…? Right. Right, I recall Alan mentioning that. You, Clem, Togo, and Charles all got a place together closer to the city and their work. Alan was supposed to move in with you guys, wasn’t he…?”

“Something like that.” Domino didn’t confirm or deny it. “We all knew it was stupid, but that human can get so pig headed sometimes,” the wolf snorted at the thought. “He should’ve gone into politics.”

“Yeah, I don’t think Alan would’ve gotten far.” Logan chuckled. Domino gave him a look. “He’s too soft. Trusting and, well, dumb.”

Domino snorted at that. “Yeah. Yeah he is…” The wolf’s ear flicked. Silence fell between them for a moment. “Did you know he petted me…?”

Logan had to take a second on that. “Alan petted you…?”

“Just. Just the other week… I was having some difficulties with…” Domino didn’t need to continue to know what it had been about, again. After he’d broken down at The Den and needed to be hauled out there. “I was worked up and getting angry and then he showed up. Just offering me a cool beverage, sitting down with me, and talking things over…”

The wolf glanced over at Logan and the human knew exactly the kind of things Alan was talking to Domino about. He never really thought Alan and Dom would get along but, then again, Alan was the Alpha-mate and had to deal with all the wolves in the pack at some point. Good or bad, it was part of his job now. He was the comfort the Alpha couldn’t be and the voice of reason to these wolves. These wolves trying to adjust to a society that scorned them from the moment they were born.

“He helped me with some things. We went over other… things. About… well you know what it was about. Got me to calm down and relax. And. And then…” Domino’s ears folded back and he refused to look at Logan.

“Just because someone else pets you doesn’t mean I’ll get jealous.” Logan snorted at the idea, laughing about it.

“Sometimes I wish you would!” Domino grumbled, and Logan smiled at that. The wolf had been far more open about his feelings, and he knew he had Alan to thank for that.

It wasn’t so much that Alan was trying to change the pack, it was just that this new element had been dropped into it. Where they had been told to hold in their emotions and more animalistic tendencies, the human let them be free. Who they were. Thanks to his position as Alpha-mate, Alan gave them permission to… feel, something. Instead of just being told how to feel or how to act. To pretend to be docile and tame instead of who they were. Wolves.

The simplest of things can have the biggest impact.

“You wish I would get jealous over someone else petting you?” Logan thought that over. “It’s not like we’re dating.”

“I know!” Domino gritted his teeth once more, hard enough to taste blood. “I know. I just. I know, okay? Doesn’t mean I don’t feel things still…” The wolf huffed, resting back in his seat, and looked out the window. “He said talking to you about this would help.”

“Does it…?” Logan asked.

“No…” Domino grunted as he stared out the window. Domino’s fur was lifted slightly, the tip of his fangs showing as he tapped a clawed finger on his muscular arm impatiently trying to sort out and deal with the chaotic turmoil of thoughts spinning around in his head.

If it had been anyone else, Logan might’ve felt fear just then. Worried that this agitated, angry predator sitting next to him would’ve done something they both would’ve regretted. When a man as large and threatening as Domino was on edge, everyone in the room, or cramped car, felt it.

It was why most didn’t hang around predators or even associate with them unless they had to.

It was a double-edged sword. Alan was helping them adjust and be… normal, in society. With their feelings and emotions. Yet, society wasn’t ready for that. Ready for predators to think and feel for themselves. To get annoyed or agitated or excited about something in public spaces.

Even cheering at a football game would get the attention of everyone around them. A loud feline booing when the other teams scored? Someone might call the cops of them. For just feeling upset that their team had lost… It was fucked up.

This society, this world, had only survived as long as it did by not addressing such things. To ignore the smallest population out there. Predators. To push them aside, box them in and forget they even existed.

Logan had to admit, it was going to be interesting to see where things would go from here as he pulled up at a scummy looking apartment complex at the edge of the city a half hour later.

The dilapidated multistoried building was made from weather worn brick and looked as if it were on its last leg, listing off to the side slightly. A strong breezed looked as if it could knock the entire thing over.

“You stay… here.” Domino couldn’t be silent about this. He knew his place with the other dogs was a bit crowded and messy and noisy and cramped… but this? This was the alternative? He couldn’t be silent about that.

“Only sometimes.” Logan shrugged, not thinking about it too much. “It’s just a place to keep some stuff at. Pay in cash. No trace I even live here. Think of it like a storage shed I sometimes nap at. It’s off the grid, hard to find, no one would guess to look here.”

“No one like that tiger…” Domino still didn’t like it but was beginning to understand why Logan kept such a distance between himself and others. Why he slept in so many places, making it impossible to pin him down somewhere. The constant threat and fear that he was being stalked… it wore at ones sanity.

Fear could erode even the strongest of minds, like a small river that would eventually cut out a canyon.

“Look. Milo’s seen you and Clem. It means you are both potential targets for that bastard. I doubt he’ll go after me until he gets one or both of you…” Logan shook his head as he unlocked the gated side entrance and headed in. “That’s why I need to get him before he gets to anyone else. I can’t sleep knowing he might be doing what he did to Vinnie to someone else. Someone I… I cared for… again.”

“And you do this by keeping your distance from others?” Domino grunted as he stepped on something both wet and sticky and was glad he, like most wolves in The Pack, wore shoes when they went out on business.

Domino had a tight-fitting black suit on that was padded, adding extra bulk to his already large frame. He looked like a hitman or a bouncer at a club but didn’t mind. It kept everyone else at a distance, just as Logan was doing. The wolf was used to that. Unsure how the human managed though.

“As I said. I’m barely here.” Logan didn’t deny what Domino had said or suggested, instead focusing on something else.

The door took several attempts to get open, which Logan seemed to approve of instead of hate.

“Makes it hard to get in unnoticed.” Logan said as he locked the door behind them. Two bolt locks, a chain, and the doorknob before adding a metal latch to the other side. Several different styles of locks just to make sure he felt somewhat secure.

Domino watched as Logan did that. Every step. Double checking them. Making sure they were locked, secure, and only then did Logan appear to finally relax. The tension bled from his shoulders, and he slumped against the door, if only for a moment, before pushing himself back up and doing what they’d come here to do.

“Or hard to get out…” Domino frowned as he looked around the place.

The air smelled stale and there wasn’t any proper circulation in the room. Logan turned a fan on to help with that. There were old, used clothes on the ground, dirty dishes in the sink and the trash needed to be taken out. It was filled with takeout containers. It wasn’t anything Domino hadn’t seen back at the new doghouse he and Clem were staying at.

It was the bottle his boot kicked that made the wolf take notice.

Several empty bottles of hard alcohol, whiskey from the looks of them, were laid out next to the single mattress in the one room apartment. An ugly mattress that had been laid out directly onto the floor with a single pillow and sheet over it. There was a side door with an uncomfortably small bathroom in it and little else. Logan had a box TV set up in the corner, something Domino thought was long since discontinued.

Reaching down, Domino picked up one of the bottles to turn it over and look at. It was empty, not even a drop left in the bottom.

“I just need to grab a few things then we can get. I have a couple of places in mind I want to check out around the city. It’s still early and most aren’t open until night.” Logan called from the other side of the small room as Domino walked over to the wall next to the bed.

Hung up on the wall was a bulletin board that Logan had covered with a sheet. Pulling it down, Domino looked over it. A map of the city had been stapled to the front of it. Notes covered the thing with pictures pinned to it. Different colored strings connected the pictures together seemingly randomly in order to help with the ongoing investigation he was personally investigating.

Mikhail, The Butcher of Seattle, locations the top of the board read.

“Nice conspiracy board.” Domino said as Logan walked over, shoving things into a backpack he’d grabbed. Looking up, the human saw what Domino was referencing.

“It’s called a mind map, thank you very much.” The human just walked over. Snagging the discarded sheet from the floor, he covered the bulletin board from view the best he could. “It’s just all the stuff I gathered so far on Milo and his whereabouts. Where he was last seen, who he was in contact with, etcetera. Making sure he doesn’t have any other contacts or connections in the city and if he does? To track them down. It helps putting everything down from your mind onto a map. Thus, mind map.”

“People would call you crazy.” Domino snorted.

“Thanks for the vote of confidence…” Logan rolled his eyes.

“And these?” Domino kicked one of the bottles on the floor with his boot. The look on his face said all the words Domino hadn’t.

“I have trouble sleeping.” Logan admitted with a half shrug, looking away from the wolf.

“Logan…” Domino growled low. It was a dangerous sound that filled the apartment.

“You try having an ex that stalks you as some kind of sick game and tell me how you feel,” Logan laughed. It was just as forced as his smile was. Domino frown only deepened.

“You’ll stay with us tonight.” Domino shook his head.

“I can’t,” Logan started up with. Already having a hundred things to say about it. Domino didn’t let him as he pushed the human roughly against the wall, placing a hand on Logan’s chest to keep him there.

Domino made it look easy. Either he’d been working out or Logan was weaker than he used to be. Both thoughts were unsettling when you were locked in a room with a disgruntled wolf.

“I have been ordered to watch you, Logan. I have all the permission I need to keep you safe.” Domino warned as his corner pulled up in a crooked smile. “We might not be a thing, anymore. I might not mean anything to you.” The wolf’s lip twitched as he held back saying anything he’d regret.

“Domino.” Logan tried to say but the wolf just cut him off with a harsh growl, turning his muzzle to the side and flashing his fangs.

“Listen here and listen good. You’re my bitch now.” Domino snarled as he brushed his fangs against Logan’s cheek. To anyone else, it might look as if Domino was about to rip the human’s face off. But the two knew. Domino could smell Logan’s arousal from the action and the human felt the wolf press the bulge in his pants against him. “The Alpha has put me in charge of this mission. I’m top wolf here. You will answer to me.”

“Or what?” Logan got right up in Domino’s face. Their eyes met and Domino let out a low, lustful growl.

“Or I’ll put you in your place,” Domino slammed a hand against the wall, brushing his other hands finger along Logan’s jaw and lifting his chin up with the tip of his nail.

The two were breathing heavily and Logan could smell Domino’s breath. The wolf was panting over the side of his face, an action that was inherently intimate for canine’s. So close like this, they could feel and smell everything of the other and Domino nosed against his hair, taking a slow deep breath of the human.

Logan stunk. He hadn’t showered that morning and the smell of the musky, sweaty human was getting the wolf riled up even further. Logan didn’t smell like any other man and Domino wanted to change that. Pressing his body up against the human. If he wasn’t wearing a suit, he’d rub his furry body all over Logan and, even wearing the suit, Domino had to resist the urge to do so.

“Been a while since you’ve been like this.” Logan huffed as he felt the warm breath of Domino wash over his face. There was something so tantalizing about giving up ones power and control.

Something Logan needed in that moment. To let go and give it all up to someone he… he… trusted? Was that what this was? Logan didn’t know and that fear made Domino’s fur bristle, standing on end as he smelled it mixed in with the human’s growing arousal.

“It has been a while…” Domino lips brushed against Logan’s as he held the humans attention. Refusing to let go of his face as Domino’s fingers gripped it tighter, turning Logan to face towards him. He took a sharp inhale and Logan felt his breath leave him as the wolf’s lips pressed against his the next second.

Their lips met and Logan was forced further against the wall, pressed against it with a horny, worked up wolf against him.

Domino shared his breath with the human. Exhaling it into Logan’s mouth, forcing the human to breathe it in. Breathe him in. To share, exchange something like this as one hand found Logan’s and their fingers entwined before Domino slammed his hand back against the wall. It would’ve hurt if Domino hadn’t used his fingers to brace Logan’s hand.

Logan was so small compared to Domino and the two knew that more in moments like these than any other.

Their tongues met hesitantly, the two knowing what this moment meant. It wasn’t just a quick hook up; it wasn’t a plan to get close to Domino’s old crew. They hadn’t lost themselves in a drunken lust or gotten high together, again. This moment would change everything between them. They were toying a fine line they both were afraid to cross.

And what it would mean if they did.

Domino’s hand brushed up the front of Logan’s chest. Touching it. Feeling the human’s heartbeat. It was pounding against his fingertips. Logan was nervous. Just as nervous as he was. That was all the confirmation Domino needed to continue. He didn’t know if he could stop even if he wanted too anymore.

“Logan,” Domino’s voice was no more than a feral growl and the human couldn’t understand the words but understood the meaning.

He was scared.

Scared of what this would mean as Domino tilted his muzzle to the side and pressed it roughly, hungrily against the human he’d pinned against the wall. Tasting Logan on his lips. Hearing his gasps, feeling his body shudder as his clawed fingers slid underneath his shirt and the warm paw pads of his finger press against that soft, furless skin.

So fragile. Domino was always afraid of hurting Logan. In more ways than one.

Logan froze at the touch, at the feel of this other man against him. Pressing his body against him as a hand slipped under his shirt. It felt good. That touch. That wanting, needy touch. It made him feel wanted, to feel loved again. How long had it been since Logan felt like this. Weeks? Months? It didn’t matter as those teeth brushed along the side of his neck.

He forgot everything else in the world when Domino did this to him. Able to finally let go.

Domino was always such an intimate lover. He didn’t want to just dive into the nitty gritty business of things like other wolves did. He wanted to experience all of. Every facet of this dance. The feel, the touch, and the smell. Oh, the smell of him again. The smell of Logan in his arms.

The human had forgotten to shower that morning and Domino let out a hot breath in a laugh. Smelling him in the car all the way here. It had almost been too much for the wolf. His jaws opened, his tongue drooling out before he tasted him. That sweaty flesh. The side of Logan’s neck. Tasting him at the invitation of it.

He was drooling. Drooling all over the human’s neck and shoulder. Domino’s hunger mixing in with his lust as he tasted this human. How he wanted to sink his teeth into Logan and taste him.

“Domino,” Logan gasped as those teeth brushed his skin, the fangs poking against it. Just hard enough to leave indentations behind, not hard enough for him to bleed. Not yet.

“Smelling this strong,” Domino growled low and deep. It rumbled in his chest as the lustful sound slipped past his lips. “You know what it does to me, Logan…” The wolf nuzzled against his face, rubbing his cheek then the other cheek against it. Rubbing his scent on the human. Practically slapping Logan in the face with his muzzle as Domino got more and more worked up. “How it makes me feel.” The wolf’s grip tightened on the human. “How you make me feel…”

Logan couldn’t find his voice to object to this as Domino’s other hand slipped down to grope and feel him up roughly. Cupping and fondling the human’s bulge through his pants with a large hand. Making Logan squirm for him. Domino loved watching him squirm like this as he lifted Logan slightly off his feet, forcing the human to stand on his tip toes.

Even more helpless, helpless underneath Domino’s power and control.

“What about Clem?” Logan had to ask, had to know. He didn’t want to hurt his friend and Domino huffed against his face.

“What about that lion…?” Domino growled in reply. “Clem and I have an agreement.” Domino nosed Logan’s hair. “We have an agreement that there are certain… individuals, that we are allowed to be with. That we can have some fun, on the side, with… I chose you.”

Domino lied. Not about being open with Clem. Logan was aware how most canine’s treated relationships. You had someone you were mates with, that you returned home to and slept next to. Those you trusted most. And then there were those on the side you could have fun with. These were usually only ever other canines within the pack. It helped create and maintain that bond packs had with one another.

It wasn’t so odd to kiss your mate goodbye and then hang out with a bro. Smoke some weed, eat some edibles, or drink a little too much. Just to that perfect point that you could jerk your friend off without any attachment afterward.

It was what Logan had tried to explain to Domino what they were to each other.

But they weren’t.

Logan knew that even as the wolf began to undo his pants. He knew Domino was lying about this just being the side dish. They both knew that, for Domino, Clem was the side dish and Logan was the main course that the wolf wanted to devour. He always had been ever since he stumbled into that club and bumped into the wolf.

Ever since they met. Ever since Logan had touched Domino’s face. After the first time they kissed. The times Domino would hold him close and tell him all his dirty secrets. Laying it all out for Logan who would snuggle closer, their naked bodies pushed against one another as, in those rare fleeting moments, they became one.

“Dammit,” Logan cursed as he felt his shirt being lifted up roughly. The wolf had pushed his snout against Logan’s bare chest and the cold nose was wiping over it. Domino was sniffing him. He was sniffing every part of him. Over his chest, under his arms, down lower. Nosing at the hair on his belly, following that happy trail to a smell Domino, no matter how many years passed, would never forget.

Domino had already undone his pants, opening just the front of them to reach his prize.

Logan felt that padded wet bumpy nose push against his untrimmed curls down below. Logan had neglected a lot of his usual routine, and he looked like a mess. A slob. His hair was unwashed, he hadn’t trimmed or manscaped in ages… Sloan had let him get away with a lot. The lion trying to polite suggest he clean up.

Logan hadn’t. He’d been too busy, lost in his blind goose hunt for the tiger. The lion had eased off him knowing what he’d been going through but the two hadn’t done much since the start of the year. Sloan had standards and Logan, knowing this, had pushed the lion away by being such a mess.

Claiming it was for his protection, but knowing Logan was just trying to protect himself. Protect himself from losing it all in another predator. Push him away before they did something they couldn’t take back.

He had tried to do the same with Domino. Tried to be jaded with the wolf. To push him onto another and move on. Domino hadn’t. Even when Logan joked about forgetting to shower or bathe. Looking like a stereotypical obsessed detective. It had been working on everyone else, so then why…

Why couldn’t Domino just leave him be.

This wolf was drooling for it. For him.

Domino wouldn’t let him go no matter what Logan did.

Sniffing over his groin. Pushing his pants down further, his underwear down and nosing against his legs. That large snout moving and jostling Logan’s balls as the human stayed pinned against the wall, the wolf keeping one hand firmly planted on his chest as he forced Logan’s leg up.

That thick, tart drool dribbled from Domino’s hungry lips, and it splattered on Logan’s hardening cock. He shuddered at the feel of it. That thick feel of drool covering his length. The heat of it. It made him feel unclean, but not unwanted…

“You like that, don’t you?” Domino eased his hand off Logan’s chest, his eyes glancing up at the human. “You love playing with others… but you love this.” One of the wolf’s ears flicked as his tail lifted high as his breath grew heavier. “You love being a predator’s play thing.”

“Dom…” Logan felt his voice, his breath catch in his throat as the wolf used one dull clawed finger to tug on his foreskin. Playing with the human’s sensitive tip with a nail. “F-fuck, Dom.”

“To be helpless before a hungry predator,” Domino licked his lips and swallowed loudly as he rose up before Logan. He was so much larger, standing at his full height and looking down against the human. His chest bumped Logan’s face, pressing against it. “I know what you like. What you need. No one else could ever satisfy you like I can.”

Domino began to strip for him. Taking only a half step back before undoing the buttons on his suit, then the vest underneath and finally the undershirt. He stripped each layer off before the human. Exposing his thick chest. Domino was eye candy Logan could never look away from.

“Dom.” Logan wanted to say more but looking at him, seeing the wolf strip for him made him feel vulnerable. As if the human was the one standing there, naked, before him.

Domino always liked to wear clothes. Even when they were together in the bedroom. To see the wolf strip naked for him was far more intimately arousing than Logan wanted to admit. He was the one now wearing clothes as Domino kicked his pants off and stood there in nothing more than a pair of socks.

“The floors cold.” The wolf teased as Logan looked him over before stopping on his socks.

“Sorry, I didn’t know I was going to have a visitor tonight.” Logan said as the wolf stepped closer. His fur was softer than he expected it to be. Freshly washed and groomed. Domino had prettied himself up for this, for spending time with Logan.

Logan wasn’t sure why that bothered him so much. Maybe Logan felt bad for not doing the same for Domino even knowing they would be spending all day together. Trying to push him away as he had done Sloan, as he had done to everyone else.

“Why are you still here…?” Logan whispered the words and Domino’s ears perked up. The two looked into each other’s eyes and Domino could see Logan’s misting up. The wolf chose to ignore his words as he decided to take care of him. His every want and every need this day.

“Can I take it off for you…?” Domino’s voice was quiet as he asked the question. “I want to see all of you…” Domino reached out a hand, uncertain if it would be okay or not as he hooked a claw in the front of one of Logan’s buttons on his shirt.

Logan wasn’t sure what to say and so he said nothing. Letting Domino strip, him down. Taking off his pants first before moving up to his shirt after the first button. The wolf’s fingers laced underneath the edge of the shirt, pulling it up and over in one clean motion. He tossed it aside, just looking at Logan.

“You’ve lost weight.” Domino noted a hint of worry creeping into his voice as his hands reached out, roaming, and feeling over the human. Logan had new scars. Cuts that had been too deep. Some from claws, others from knives...

It made the wolf’s chest feel tight as he looked at him. How he could wish to pull him close, to hug him so Logan wouldn’t feel the pain he had to be feeling from it all. Everything that had happened in his short, twenty-five years of life.

“I’m just on a new diet.” Logan lied as the wolf brushed a finger over his arm. He shivered from the warmth of it. The warmth of Domino’s touch. The way those paw pads were so rough and callous from work and all the things Dom did for a living, and yet how soft they were when Domino touched him like this.

“Me too,” Domino chuckled as Logan reached up to place a hand on the wolf’s chest. For a second, Domino worried Logan would try and push him away. He didn’t. The man before him just rubbed his hand and fingers through the dense fur of his body as he stared at it.

“One of us has a choice in that.” Logan chuckled softly; his voice so faint even the wolf’s ears strained to hear it. “At least humans can eat practically whatever the hell we want. You wolves…” Logan’s voice drifted off. Such a conversation brought him back to that place. Where he had last seen Milo. Where he had almost died.

Domino touched the side of his face and Logan jumped, looking at him.

“Hey,” the wolf murmured with a low growl. “It’s just me…” Domino’s voice was gravely as he spoke, lust beginning to take him as he tried not to let it show on his face. “Just look at me, Logan. Focus only on me…”

“Right.” Logan nodded. “Right, s-sorry.” He said and the wolf’s ear flicked. “It’s been… a while.”

“For us…? Or for you…?” Domino asked in clarification, keeping his voice steady as his heart began to pound in his chest hearing it.

“…both?” Logan gave a weak shrug, looking at the wolf with tired eyes. “I haven’t really been with anyone since… since then… With everything. I couldn’t… I just… there’s something wrong with me,” Logan voice shuddered as he closed his eyes.

Domino wiped away the tear that fell from one of his eyes, holding Logan’s face with a large, clawed hand as he looked into it.

“I see…” Domino had to stop his tail from wagging hearing that Logan hadn’t been with anyone since. “Well,” the wolf crouched down and before Logan had a say in it, he was picked up and carried over to the bed. Domino crouched down, gently lying Logan onto the dirty mattress before kicking the sheet aside with a foot. The wolf lazing down over him on his elbows and knees in nothing more than his birthday suit. “I’ll just have to remind you then how it’s done.”

“I didn’t forget how to do it.” Logan got worked up over that and Domino let out a soft chuckle.

The wolf didn’t need to say anything. All he needed to do was be here for the man as their lips met once more and the wet, slurping sounds of their kisses filled the otherwise silent apartment. Wet, hungry slurps as the wolf’s jaws brushed over Logan’s cheeks.

The touch of those teeth against his skin made Logan tense and Domino rubbed a hand over his arms, easing him up.

“Logan,” Domino pulled back before angling his muzzle down and nuzzling underneath the man’s chin. He held Logan’s side with a hand, thumb rubbing over the man’s side as he began to rest the top portion of his weight down against the human. “Trust me…”

“I…” Logan struggled with the words as Domino’s other hand slipped between his legs, rubbing, and stroking him off. “Can’t, Domino. I. Just. Can’t…” Logan closed his eyes, and he was sure he was crying silent tears. “I can’t trust anyone…”

Domino closed his eyes, resting his forehead against Logan’s as he continued to feel the human up. Stroking and rubbing his length with strong, paw padded fingers. The feel of those rough paw pads against his dick made Logan shudder. They scratched, just enough to get him shivering as he laid there naked with the wolf over him.

“Logan,” Domino said his name, nuzzling the side of his face. “Tell me.” The wolf whispered the words into his ear. “Tell me what’s going on. Let me be here for you. Even if I can’t… can’t fix this. Let me share your pain.”

Domino hadn’t stopped stroking him off and Logan felt his legs shaking now as the wolf picked up speed, using his thumb to tease and stroke over the human’s tip, forcing the slit to part as the wolf pushed that hot paw pad against it. Grabbing hold of his head, Domino began to pump him as Logan gasped and groaned as he was jerked off.

“There’s something wrong with me.” Logan fell back onto the pillow, covering his face with an arm as Domino pumped his length. “I’m… wrong. I’m… I’m broken, Domino. I can’t. I can’t return your feelings. Anyone’s feelings. There is something wrong with me… what if they find out? What if they learn what a mess I am…? I. I don’t want them to leave…” Logan sobbed against the other man. “Why can’t I just be normal…”

Domino pushed down on the human, keeping his groin above the human’s as he continued to stroke his length off. Letting the feel help dull the pain as Logan continued to sob as Domino helped him to reach that finish.

The wolf pressed his lips against the side of Logan’s face, against his cheek. He could taste his salty tears and licked them away. One by one, Domino licked away each one that fell. He never let go of Logan’s dick, stroking him off as he growled softly down at him.

“Who would leave…?” Domino asked the question as he nosed down to lick over Logan’s jaw line, underneath along his neck before nipping at it. Leaving small marks behind.

“Everyone…” Logan felt Domino muzzle run down to his chest. He bucked his hips into Domino’s hand as the wolf licked over one of his nipples, nipping at it before swirling his thick, slightly grooved tongue around it. Letting the feel of it tease Logan even further.

“I won’t leave you, Logan.” Domino promised as he moved down to kiss the human’s stomach. “Clem won’t leave us.” Domino growled into Logan’s happy trail. “Alan won’t leave us… the Alpha won’t leave. We’re all here, if you like it or not. No one is leaving.” Domino lifted his muzzle to look down Logan’s length.

His muzzle parted and tendrils of drool fell and splattered over Logan shaft making the human groan from the feel.

“Let me prove it to you. No matter how long it takes, let me prove to you that you are worth staying for.” Domino’s hand slid down Logan’s length, his fingers pressing underneath the girth of it before taking hold of the base.

With parted fanged lips, Domino’s muzzle went down over the human’s stand length. A hot gust of air surrounded Logan’s length and the human gripped the mattress as he felt the touch of Domino’s tongue against it.

“Ah, fuck, Dom. What are you doing to me.” Logan groaned as the wolf sucked him off. With warm, bumpy full lips, a hot drool covered down and just the faintest brush of teeth, Domino devoured the human’s length.

Licking and sucking, Domino bobbed his head over Logan as he worked on the base with his hand. Teasing and playing with his sack with his other hand, he slipped two fingers down Logan’s taint before teasing his rear end.

Domino pulled back at that, huffing a laugh as he looked at the human.

“You don’t have the time to shower, but you have the time to clean down here?” Domino gave Logan a look at the human sprawled out before him. “Some thing never change,” Domino said with great amusement as he nosed down over Logan’s sack.

He sniffed it. Inhaling the musky smell and letting it bring Domino back to that lustful high as he began panting over him. Licking his lips, Domino licked up one side and down the other. Nosing and forcing his snout underneath Logan’s sack before licking and chewing and nipping at his taint.

That thick tongue pushed further down, lower still until it was pushing between Logan’s cheeks. Slurping and licking him up as the wolf worked his hole, covering it in drool.

“Logan, I can’t wait any longer.” Domino was already moving into position between the human’s legs. He pressed and rubbed his groin against Logan’s, wanting Logan to feel what he did to him. Feel how worked up this human made him. How, no matter what, Logan would always get him like this. “Let me take you.”

“Dom,” Logan forced himself up on an arm as he looked at the wolf staring down at him. Not at his face, but at his groin. At his ass. At the spot Domino desperately wanted to take him. Again. After that time in the garage, a time Domino had never forgotten. “You want to knot me…?”

“Yes.” Domino gulped loudly, looking up at the human before back down. “Let me… let me show you. I’m not good with words,” Domino growled out. “Let me show you that I… that my body can be here for you.” Domino was already lifting Logan’s legs up.

“W-wait. Knotting is, I mean, with us. We have…” Logan face was red and it was hard to think as his dick bounced in the air between them, aching and begging for further attention. The idea of being topped, being filled, having the wolf rub that hot fat cock against his prostate was making it hard to argue against this.

Even if he knew it was a bad idea. His body wanted this. It was craving this. This release. To be filled. To feel… something, again.

“Let me do this for you, Logan.” Domino looked up at him, their eyes meeting as the wolf whined softly. “Let me be your support. As… as you were once for me. Let me support you.”

Logan couldn’t say anything. He just gave a single nod and the wolf got back into position.

With a hand, Domino guided the hot red tip poking from his dark furred sheath towards the human’s entrance. The end was already leaking and Domino used it to lube Logan up. It was hot and the tingling sensation against his hole was almost foreign to Logan as he rested back on the cheap mattress, legs up in the air as Domino scooted an inch closer.

Pressing the tip of his length against Logan’s hole, the wolf slowly pressed forward. Rolling his hips forward until he felt the tip open Logan up and with a low, heavy groan Domino spilled out.

His length pushed past any resistance Logan had and began filling the human as the wolf, holding onto Logan’s legs, arched his back with the feel of it. The feel of this tight body around his aching, needy length again. It felt so good. The warmth of him. It felt familiar and Domino could feel a shiver run through his body.

This was what he was looking for.

Domino began to rock his hips against Logan. Pulling back just enough to push forward, moving the human back and forth on the bed as he held his legs securely in place. Domino was watching him. He never took his eyes off Logan as they mated in this small, ugly apartment.

It would be the last time Logan slept here, Domino swore. He would collect his things and bring him home, to live with Clem and the other dogs. The two of them would make this work. Somehow. He would do this. No matter how long it took, no matter how many times Domino needed to top Logan. He would make the human his and such lustful thoughts only increased the Domino’s passion.

The wolf placed one hand on Logan’s side, bracing himself as he worked up his speed. Humping faster, louder, noisier as the almost sweet, tender start turned into something wild and almost feral in nature as Domino grunted with gritted teeth. Humping the human harder. Faster. Harder. Faster. Domino didn’t want to stop. He wanted to continue to feel this. To take Logan. To make him his, over and over again.

Such lust made the wolf’s tip sputter and ooze pre, lubing and slickening Logan’s tail hole as the wolf lifted his legs up.

Domino was standing now, pressing Logan into the mattress, slightly hunched over him as Domino fucked his mate.

“Dom, fuck, holy, it’s been so long.” Logan words were broken. He wasn’t thinking. He was just feeling, feeling everything the wolf was giving him. Giving up all control to Domino this time around, letting all his restraints go and just giving in to the hungry predator drooling over him.

“I won’t hurt you,” Domino promised as he mated him. “I won’t hurt you.” He swore. “I won’t hurt you,” Domino howled out as he felt his knot press against Logan. Rubbing and teasing the sensitive, throbbing ball at the end of his wolf cock.

It felt good.

This felt good.

Domino was growling, baring his fangs as he twisted and turned Logan over, still inside him. Still humping, pressing his knot against the human as he let his wild side out. Shoving and forcing Logan’s face against the pillow now as he heavy wolf took him.

Domino wasn’t sure when it happened, Logan did. He felt when that knot slipped inside him. Stretching him, pushing past the last vestiges of his resistance as the Domino took him. Logan felt the wolf lock in, felt Domino tie the two together. And he felt the wolf continue.

Domino hadn’t stopped. He kept humping into the human. Faster and harder. Sweating, ball slapping, mating. That was what this was. There was nothing between them. No clothes, no covers. Just two raw, naked bodies together as Domino fell onto Logan’s back.

The human grunted at the weight as Domino got on all fours, taking him in the most animalistic way he could think of. Mounting him like a wolf in heat.

“Logan,” Domino was growling out. “Logan. Logan! Take my cubs. Take them. Let me fill you. Mate you. Breed you.” Domino gritted his teeth, feeling that build up. That surge inside building and pushing against his futile efforts to make this last longer. “Logan,” Domino huffed out and then he felt it.

Domino’s entire body froze. His tail was hiked high, his fur was standing up, his muzzle slightly parted as he came. A flood of heat that surged from the lower part of his body and out through his throbbing shaft that pulsed and bounced inside the human he was tied to. Letting that warm heat pump out of him.

Domino whined.

He whined like a bitch as he came.

It was so much, the feel of it. Feel of him, again. Holding him, resting on top of him. Using his body to hide him from the world as his length continued to pump out his hot wolf spunk. Filling Logan up as his nuts began to hurt from the flow of it.

He had never mated like this before. Domino had never came like this before. It was overwhelming and he hugged the human tighter, nuzzling the side of Logan’s face as his body wrapped around the human underneath him.

“Never again,” Domino shuddered. “Never again, will I let you go…” Domino promised as his length oozed fatty globs of his seed deep inside his mate. “Logan…”

“Dom?” Logan wasn’t sure what to say. Lying there, underneath the wolf. He could feel Domino’s shaft twitch in reaction to the human saying his name. It was almost funny; it was almost sweet. Logan didn’t know what to feel as he laid there. Hot, sweaty, and full. So very full.

“I love you…” Domino whispered against his ear. “Alan… Alan told me to tell you my feelings. I needed… I needed you to know.”

“Dom…” Logan couldn’t say more as he closed his eyes. “I…”

“I know.” Domino nuzzled against Logan’s ear. “I know. I heard… what you said. I can’t expect more from you, yet…” The wolf shuddered, scooting closer. He didn’t want a single sliver between him and Logan at that moment, molding his body, arms, and legs to the human under him. “I know you can’t fully reciprocate my feelings. Yet. I’ll wait for you…”

“Dom. What if… what if I can’t?” Logan had to know, had to ask and it hurt saying the words. “What if I can’t feel the way you… or anyone, feels for me…?” Logan felt the wolf squeeze him tighter.

“Then I’ll have to love you twice as much, to cover your share as well.” Domino huffed out as he turned slightly to rest over the human, hiding his body underneath his. “I… I want you to move in with me.” The wolf said and Logan didn’t answer. “Clem will be happy to have you around.”

“Dom.” Logan sighed, wishing they could have just another moment before talking about this.

“That husky,” Domino continued.

“Togo.” Logan corrected for him.

“And his mate,” The wolf just went on.

“Charles,” Logan closed his eyes.

“Will be there too. It won’t just be us… I think. I think that’d help you feel… normal.” Domino’s ears folded back as he felt Logan squeeze around his length. The feel of it around his knot made the wolf want to go for round two and he let out a heavy breath. “L-Logan… I would miss you, if you were gone…”

Logan didn’t know what to say to that.

“Clem would miss you. Alan would miss you… you have people who care about you.” Domino felt another shiver run down his spine as another decent dose of wolf seed pumped into Logan. “You have us…”

“And what is us…?” Logan asked in an exasperated voice.

“Family.” Domino answered, resting his muzzle on the human’s head now. He took a heavy breath and Logan felt Domino’s chest push against his back. “A home to return to. Those who love you and think of you…”

Logan didn’t say anything as Domino rolled onto his side. Tied as they were the simple action pulled Logan along with him. The wolf slide an arm under and around the human before pulling him up against him. Letting Logan rest against him as Domino supported him.

“Just think about it. That’s all I ask.” Domino closed his eyes, snuggling closer to the human.

“Dom, we still have a mission to do.” Logan felt the need to remind the snoozing wolf.

“We have until… tonight.” Domino grumbled. “You said. Night time… you need… rest.” The wolf took another heavy breath, stretching out an arm and a leg before hugging Logan closer. “Let me have this.”

Logan sighed, “I owe you that much…”

“Do you feel better?” Domino cracked an eye open to look at him.

“…I do.” Logan closed his.

“Good.” Domino wagged as he joined the human, the two falling asleep in the crummy apartment before heading out that night to follow the orders of their Alpha…
