Things are getting worse for Adriana and Varshgar had a hard time to get in touch with her.

While this monster was carrying her to a huge mountain and a camp nearby.

Now it was clear that something bad will come up soon.

The creature still had Adriana in its grip and did not let go. Again and again it tugged at her while she tried everything to get away from this being. Although her successes were rather moderate, she still did not want to give up.

>>Wait...you...<< Adriana said and grabbed a branch that was half hanging from a tree.

The creature saw it and wanted to knock it out of her hand, but she pulled it away. Now she hit the creature on the head with it. When the branch hit the head, the creature began to growl and hiss.

>>What the?<< Adriana immediately snapped.

She had not expected this reaction and was a bit upset that she was hissed at by this creature. So the creature was able to knock the branch out of her hand and pushed her against a tree. The face came closer and closer to her, and it smelled horribly of swamp and mustiness.

"Eww.... This thing stinks!" she thought to herself and looked at the creature in disgust. Even though she could hardly recognize anything, she perceived one detail very well. It had to be a creature that was probably a reptile.

Now Adriana felt the cold nose of the creature on her face. The tongue darted out several times like a lizard and, as it were, this smell was added to it.

"Ugh... I'm getting... nauseous..." she thought to herself, but luckily the creature let go of her again. Without losing even another moment, it tugged at Adriana again and pulled her behind it.

>>I've had enough of this. I'm not his serf after all!<< Adriana thought excitedly. However, the darkness made it difficult for her to orient herself. Likewise, she had no idea where it wanted to go with her.

"If only I still had my daggers..."

Her daggers had slipped out of her belt when she fell down while walking backwards and were now lying in the forest. Without them, it was really hard for Adriana to help herself.

Meanwhile, Varshgar continued to advance and was getting closer and closer to the trail when he suddenly stopped.

"What was that?" he pondered when he stopped suddenly.

Varshgar looked at the ground and waited. The moon moved a little further and the leaves were pushed aside by the wind. In that brief moment, something shimmered on the ground. When Varshgar felt reasonably sure that no enemy was nearby, he dropped and landed on the ground of the forest. His feet now touched the damp forest floor and immediately a smell penetrated his nose as he stood there. The smell was unmistakable, and he knew right away who it belonged to.

"That's the smell of Adriana!" he thought excitedly, checking the floor.

He carefully knelt down on the ground, which was covered with moss in many places. Then he began to grope for what he had seen in the tree. After just a moment, he had found it.

>>Well?<< he said quietly and grabbed the two objects.

"These are Adriana's daggers, aren't they? She must have lost them!" he thought to himself and pondered.

"Could that be a good sign? Probably less so." he mused.

However, it gave Varshgar hope that Adriana might still be okay. That she is still out there and could certainly use some help. He grabbed the two daggers and put them in the loops of his harness.

Then he directed his gaze forward and clenched his right paw into a fist.

"Adriana... I'm coming for you!" he thought to himself and pushed himself off the ground with a violent push.

Now he ran along the floor at lightning speed. Here the smell of must was strongest. Moreover, when he had picked up the dagger, he had been able to make out two footprints. For him, it was clear that she must still be alive and more even. She was running on her own. Reason enough for Varshgar to hurry even more than already. The creature was still dragging Adriana behind it. Even if she went after him only reluctantly, she had, until now, had no other choice. Slowly the forest became thinner and gradually gave a view of some hills. But what rose behind the hills and towered above the trees was even more imposing.

She directed her gaze to the mountain rising in front of her. Even if it was still a good distance away, it now seemed clear where the beast wanted to go with her.

"Oh... no no no..." she thought.

"Is that where it likes to go with me?" she asked herself again.

Slowly Adriana began to feel uneasy, because this mountain looked imposing, but she felt nothing good about approaching it.

She tried to wriggle again, but the creature tugged at her even more than before.

”So that's no use anymore..." she was stressed and looked around.

As the moon slowly fell through the lightning canopy of the forest, she could already see a little more. But everything she saw that could have helped her was so far out of reach that it would have been futile to reach for it.

"Damn... " she thought again and began to improvise.

>>You stupid piece of wood!<< She said, but the beast didn't give any reaction.

"Hmmmm..." she thought for a moment and tried something new.

This time she tugged on her arm and tried to pull it away while telling the beast:

>>Your mother is stinking of crypt!<<

"That was... not the brightest thing I could have come up with..." thought Adriana to herself. But as she had already guessed, the beast gave no reaction. Slowly but surely they reached the hills, and it went up the slope a bit. As it seemed, the beast had hardly any problems to overcome this slope and just kept on running undeterred.

"Well what's this going to be?" she wondered.

And on and on the creature dragged her up the hill. Then they had reached the crest and from this hill Adriana looked down to the foot of the mountain as well as the other hills. When she saw what was going on down there, she felt differently. The mountain had a cave entrance and in front of the entrance some of these things were cavorting.

"No no no!" she thought to herself and the beast dragged her right in the direction of the camp.

Down the hill toward the foot of the mountain that now, after she was so close to it, loomed even more menacingly before her.
