I did sleep in a bit today, not having to greet the first tour and the few staff members we have working can really keep the place going for a while. It was a little after 12 when I slipped out of bed, I think Gena was soon going to wake up, but she didn't say anything as I got dressed and made my way out.

I checked on all the dino-birds before working on the dino-duck pond, getting cement pored and ready.

Returning to the lab, I took the cassowary-saurs eggs and ran them through a x-ray to find they are developing normally. Gena walked in as I was returning the eggs to the incubator. "Hey Jake, hows the eggs?"

I nodded, replying "Just fantastic, all going as planned"

She looked in at the eggs "I meant to ask this the other day, but I've been wondering, how do you get electricity for all of this?"

"Fair question" I replied as I headed for the door "maybe you best follow me" I lead her out the door and along the path that leads to the dino-duck pond before pointing upstream, asking "it's a bit of a hike, are you ready?"

"As long as I'm not in a dress, I'm always ready for a hike" she replied with a smile.

I nodded, smiling to myself as I gently pushed back branches to revile a hidden path. I started walking down it, Gena soon coming up along side me, I explained as we walked "This is currently a bit of an access road, but at least part of it will be turned into the actual park path later as expansions are done"

I pointed to a parked ATV "Okay, it's like a 8 mile walk, so this will save a bit of time"

We got on, I drove and despite the many warnings telling you not to ride double, Gena was more than happy to hop on back. I kept driving until we came to a chain link fence with a gate and an ID card reader. I shut off the ATV and hopped off, Gena soon getting off too "All of Mesozoic Parks power comes from inside here" I said as I put my card in the reader and the gate opened.

We walked in, past some trees that hid the secret, a dam. I leaned close to Gena again "This was the hardest thing to get going on the island so far, this dam is 250 feet high from the bottom of the river bed and 500 feet long... When it was built we had a flood before it was ready and it nearly washed out and could have taken all the supplies and he dock with it"

Gena was shocked "Thats how much water it holds?" she asked.

I gave a little nod "yeah, it happens to point straight at the park, but it's much stronger now and far enough to evacuate if needed"

She nodded as she watched the white water spit from the dam, a small rainbow forming under the right light. "how far is it?"

"We are on the exact opposite side of the island from the park, the fence is seven and three quarters miles from where the ATV was parked" I stated.

She thought about that for a moment "That is pretty far, but is there any chance we can go in the dam, see the workers and all?" she asked.

I gave my head a little shake, saying "I'm only allowed in under official business"

We walked around so Gena can get a good look at the dam, the sheer size and how much water is going through the turbine, but we eventually had to get back to the park.

It was later that night when my main investor called, telling me that the geneticist team will be here an hour before the first tour. We went to bed soon after.

I was able to get up and get dressed without waking Gena, I was out the door and on the dock as the boat was pulling in. I had to sign a few papers as the team and supplies where offloaded .

I took one of the trolleys and started pushing it back to the lab, I started talking to the team. "As you may know, I'm Jake, whats all your names?"

A male human spoke first "I'm Max"

"Ralph" A male badger said.

Another male human chimed in "Uh... I'm George"

And lastly a female lion said "And I am Alexa"

I stopped outside the lab to shake every ones hands "its great to meet you all" I said.

We started to bring everything into the lab, I helped them get a fair few thing in place before going to wake Gena.
