This one's a bit shorter than I intended, but I'm still pretty satisfied. Braxton undergoes a few shenanigans with Yuki, learning a little more about her in the process. Meanwhile... I'll let you see for yourself. Fair warning, there is vore in one segment, but no swallowing happens.

Being a host, he realized, was a concept that was almost foreign to him. He had people visit his home back when he lived with his parents, but they were never the kind to drop by without his parents’ approval. The few people they did approve had their own refreshments, so having some at the ready was something he learned to not consider. His parents advised him to find someone he could trust when he went on his own. Winter was on the horizon for the second time in his college career, which meant an end to the semester for him, yet he had not met someone like that. It wasn’t that there were a lot of untrustworthy people around him, but Braxton was an introvert and gave himself few opportunities to connect with someone. He would often fob off others who wanted to visit him with half-hearted excuses, but he never had the chance to do so with Yuki.

The green-scaled dragoness had let him go shortly after she trapped him and was currently resting. She had told him that moving here took a lot of energy out of her and she needed to catch her breath. He knew better, but rather than ask questions, he had left the bedroom and went into the kitchen to prepare dinner. As he reviewed his options, he realized that he knew next to nothing about his guest.

“What does she eat?” he wondered. Opening the fridge showed him several containers full of leftovers and food he managed to sneak out of the cafeteria. He looked at a few wrapped up sandwiches and pulled them out. The first was a classic peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwich, with the last two consisting of ham and cheese. He quickly put them away, sure that something like that wouldn’t be satisfactory, especially to a dragon. Braxton shuddered from both the cold air coming in and remembering that his guest was, indeed, a dragon.

“What if… what if I’m… what she eats?” he considered. His doubts about her surfaced again as he thought back to those rare glimpses of her maw. The dragoness had several sharp teeth to accompany her forked tongue, hinting at her likely carnivorous nature. Obviously, those teeth weren’t for show and could tear him apart if she wanted. Braxton was quick to banish those thoughts, however, when he reminded himself that Yuki was after something else entirely.

“No way would she eat me… Ah!” He jumped as he felt something land on his left shoulder. He reached for the offending thing, only for it to enter his shirt. As it moved all over his skin, he couldn’t help but laugh; the darned thing was tickling him like crazy with its thin points and trails. Before it could go any lower, he managed to compose himself and pulled out… “Yuki?” He held her at arm's length, surprised to see her so small.

“Guilty as charged,” the tiny dragoness admitted, grinning at him. “I overheard you talking about feeding me. How considerate,” she gushed.

“W-well, I just want to be a good host.” She slid out from his grip and hung around his neck like a scarf. Yuki nuzzled him, making the human blush from the affection. He returned the favor by rubbing under her snout, making her purr like a feline.

“You’re very sweet, but you needn’t worry about that.”

“Huh? What do you mean? And how did you get so small, anyway?” Yuki chuckled and leapt off his shoulders onto the floor.

“Shrinking magic happens to be my specialty. As for how I can manage… observe.” She went near the window and sat on the floor in the sunlight. “Oof, your floor’s cold. My scales let me get my energy from light.”

“I... see. I’ve never heard of anything other than plants doing that.”

“I suppose I am kind of like a plant. My horns resemble short tree branches and I can do this.”

“Incredible.”

“I can eat as well, but I prefer doing this. It’s much easier, and... I doubt you would taste very good anyway.”

“Hey! I taste great!” he exclaimed, indignant.

“Braxton, you might want to take that back.” Unbeknownst to him, she started to salivate.

“I’d make for a great snack.” Yuki facepawed at how silly he was sounding. She didn’t have time to dwell on this, however, as curiosity soon took over. She wanted to see if he was as tasty as he claimed and shut him up.

“Oh?” Yuki grew to her full size as Braxton finally caught up to what he was saying. She yawned in his face and grinned, exposing her dangerous-looking maw to him once more. He mentally locked up, unable to come up with anything or even move as he stared into her mouth. “Care to put your money where my mouth is?” Before he knew it, she nudged him with her head and made him stumble over her treasure box. He fell onto something soft and wondered if it was the sofa before he felt his world go dark. When his brain finally registered what happened, he began to panic.

“Wait, I was just kidding! Just kidding! I didn’t really mean it!” He pushed against her rigid palate and tried to pry her maw open, but it was difficult for him to get any purchase in such a slippery area. The air in her mouth was surprisingly fresh and cool, and as he breathed it in, a strange calm began to come over him. Being in there was starting to not seem as bad as he initially thought, and he had no idea why. Eventually he found himself lying against her tongue, surprisingly calm, and when she finally deposited him on the sofa, he was left in a daze.

“Okay, you were right. You don’t taste all that bad,” she admitted. “I still wouldn’t consider you a viable snack. I can’t even digest you.”

“W-wha…?” He shook off her saliva as he regained his bearings. Once he was reoriented, he stood up. “What just happened?”

“Let’s see… You said you were tasty to a dragon, and said dragon wanted to see for themselves. I think that about covers it.”

“No, not that… Well, yeah that, but… I felt… calm in there. Why?”

“Oh, that. How to explain... Remember when I said I was like a plant? That was just another tidbit. You know how being in a forest has a calming effect on humans?”

“Yeah?”

“It’s like that, only accelerated and stronger. It’s a dragon thing.” Yuki shrugged as he looked on in confusion. He wondered if she meant that she had ways of making him surrender and shuddered at the possibilities.

The sound of metal hitting the floor followed by pained groaning thundered throughout the empty cavern. Eventually this sound was replaced by that of an explosion.

“Aha! Finally I’m free!” Lev cried triumphantly. He looked at the chunks of platinum that surrounded him, glad to see his former prison reduced to rubble. “That dragon thinks she’s so smart, but I will get what’s rightfully mine!” Dusting himself off, the man stepped forward and looked around. Fortunately for him his flashlight still had some power. Looking at the platinum, he wondered how much he could sell it for. It looked genuine enough… Lev shook his head and proceeded to the hidden chamber again.

“Doesn’t look like she’s around… just those… wait a minute…” Looking around, he noticed that those floating, glowing orbs that decorated the cavern were no longer present. If those were gone, then that meant… He broke into a sprint this time as realized that the place might have been abandoned. Lev turned out to be correct when he entered the chamber and found, to his frustration, that the entire place was cleared out. Nothing but rocks and dust remained in the chamber.

“Great, just great. How am I supposed to find her again?” He kicked a rock in frustration and watched as it traveled to a clump of blue fur and green scales. “Hold on… yeah… These oughta help me find that loot of mine… but first…” He walked out of the cave, cell phone in hand. Once he had a signal, he typed away, not wanting to take any chances if Yuki was nearby. He sent the message to a number and grinned.

Now was the perfect time to prepare a plan.

Braxton looked at his class schedule as he sorted out his notes and textbooks. After the craziness that had been the last two days, it was nice to get back to his routine. He had faith that the coming week would be a good one towards the end because of a historical reenactment event coming up. This would be a good opportunity to make a friend or two.

“I’m still surprised that I managed to catch up on my work,” he said. Grabbing a large purple textbook, he crammed it into his backpack. Yuki cringed at the display.

“Why carry so many books?” the dragoness asked him. She was small again, but this time she floated in the air. Braxton chose not to question this ability. “Surely they can’t teach you everything. Isn’t that what your… professors are for?”

“They insist that the books are just a point of reference, material I can review in case I don’t understand what they’re saying.” He shrugged.

“But if these texts contain the knowledge you need, why bother with a teacher?”

“I guess it’s because they might be able to make what’s in these books easier to understand. Personally, sometimes I get stumped by the things I read and need a second opinion. They might also know some things the books don’t.” Satisfied with his inventory, he placed his backpack by the door and went to his room. “That’s just how it goes.”

“Hmm…”

“It’s time for me to take a shower.” Grabbing a fresh change of clothes and a towel, he headed for his bathroom. Yuki followed him.

“Shower? What’s that?”

“It’s how I get clean, and it’s a private thing. I have to take my clothes off to do so. Please don’t follow me inside.” He shoved her out of the room and closed the door.

“I don’t wear clothing to begin with… at least, not usually.” He ignored her as he turned the knobs until there was a steady stream of water flowing from the shower cap. Thankful that he had shaved a while ago, he waited until the water was suitable for him. He took off his clothes and stepped inside, shivering in relief as the water seemed to wash all his stress away. Braxton closed his eyes and leaned against the wall, content to just let the water do the cleaning.

“Is this what being in a shower is?” He snapped back to reality at the sound of Yuki’s voice. Through the fog in the glass, he watched as the dragon looked around the bathroom. She currently stood almost as tall as he did. “All this water in the air… I never knew water could be used like this.”

“How did you…? Oh, right. Well, yeah. This is just steam. You’ve seen this before, right?”

“Well, no. In fact, this is the first time I’ve been in a human home.”

“You’re kidding, right? You have a disguise spell.”

“I put off learning it before I found you. It’s not perfect, but it works.” Yuki walked to the shower doors. Even through the cloudy glass, her purple eyes seemed to leave him feeling blank. “Can I come in?”

“Please don’t. I promise to show you how to use it when I’m done, but right now I really need my privacy.”

“Oh… if I must…” He watched as she walked out of the room, tail and barbels hanging limply. Braxton felt bad for her, but this was his private time. He wasn’t ready to share it with the dragoness, at least not yet. He grabbed his washcloth, lathered it with soap, and began scrubbing himself down. Once he was sure there was no lingering dirt on him, he shut off the shower and emerged from it, refreshed and ready for the world once more. As soon as he toweled off and put on his sleepwear, he called Yuki back to the bathroom.

“This is a simple kind of device,” he explained. “You simply move this… stick thing left for hot water, and right for cold water. Find the setting that’s right for you.”

“Stick thing?”

“I don’t know what it’s called,” he said with a shrug. He grabbed a spare washcloth and a bar of soap. “You wet this cloth, rub this soap against it, and then rub the cloth against your body.” He demonstrated the process, and when he was satisfied she understood, he gave the items to her. To his surprise, she was quick to discard the cloth in favor of the one he just used.

“This one smells like you,” she stated, answering his question, “and I will be using it.”

“But you might be contaminated…” Braxton could barely hide his disgust with her intention. This was barely bordering on obsession.

“I can take it without any issues. Now if you’ll excuse me…” Yuki grabbed him and deposited him just outside of the bathroom before closing the door.

“Don’t stay in there too long!” he called out. “I still have bills to pay!” Sure that she would manage on her own, he headed to his room and lied under the covers of his twin-sized bed, hoping to tackle the next day with a good night’s rest. Moments later he felt an unusual amount of dampness as Yuki joined him and hugged him close to her body, and he realized what was wrong.

He had forgotten to tell the dragoness how to dry herself off. Her earthy scent made him too relaxed to care for long, however, and he soon slipped back into a deep sleep. This was definitely gonna take some getting used to.
