Some mild violence and mostly story progression.

I am truly sorry for the delay on this chapter. I keep pushing it aside tying to get the third one done first. With the help of devilmaycry this was done.

Jeff wakes up with a start. How long was he out? Where was he? As he looks around, it was day time and he was in a …..field? What the hell was going on? He was in the rain a second ago and was just about to kill the bane of existence.

Yet he was here. Wherever here was. He slowly gets up as the sun beats down on him. His clothing was almost dried as he had to figure he was out for a bit. Most of the anger he had was gone. Yet it still lingered.

He looked around for the Ninetales, nothing. Jeff sees a few pidgeys fly by as an umbreon with eevees run besides it. Kind of funny seeing that happen as they don't even touch as they pass.

What the hell was going on here? Pokemon don’t run around like this unless it was the deep part of the forest. He had been in the forest a few times near his town and it doesn't look like this.

He hears the familiar sounds of the waves crashing, the smell of the salt water lingered in the air. He slowly gets up, dusting the loose grass off before heading towards the sounds, thinking he might be near town. As he makes his way through the tall grass, he comes to a cliff and sees the ocean. Then he thinks about it. As he looks around, it seems familiar to him, but at the same time it doesn’t click to what is being said in his head. He ignores the facts before him as things try to click in his head.

What was going on? A few wingull fly by as he thinks about his hometown and how many there were. Yet, there didn't seem to be too many here.

Something was nagging at him yet he tried to ignore it. Maybe he was teleported to another part of Johto, maybe further like the Kalos region. He always wanted to go there. The Panagro were cute he thought.

Yet with any true city dweller, you call home by cell. No true traveler was never without a cell these days. If all else fails, call someone. He could find out where he was since GPS was on all cells. He reached for his cell and he feels the dread anyone with a cell fears…… no signal.

Jeff’s first thought is ‘I am getting a different carrier.’ He tries all his apps or anything to get something yet nothing is connecting. Strange thing is, the thoughts of what happened last night ran through his mind. He hope it was last night as he looks at the phone again. It was 8:00 am, yet he still felt he was missing something. And that was what was nagging him. Yes, this was not home, but things around him told him otherwise. He grew up around town his whole life. Being alone, you tend to find things out as he look towards the cliff near him as it stretches out. It looked exactly like where the lighthouse would be. An Ampharos is a back up there. It comes in when the power goes out or damage comes to the lighthouse.

His mind is yelling at him as he tries his best to ignore it. Knowing what is being said can’t be true as he looks around and see what he can see as his town, but it is not there.

Could it be he is …. she said he was ready to go on this journey…..By Arceus he hated Ninetales.

A vulpix runs through the field as Mightyenas give chase. She is breathing hard as the yenas laugh as they give chase.

“Come on little one. We won't hurt you too much,” one says.

“Yeah. I am sure the alpha won’t tie you. Just fuck you till you beg for more!” another laughs.

She runs faster as her brother was already captured by the pack of yenas. He used his time to let her escape. Those humans she saw were using their pokemon to capture her pack. They had live in seclusion and happiness. Away from the humans that have moved in. The humans that have slowly moved into the land have keep away from pokemon here. Yet, there were these strange ones who showed up one day and set out to capture them. The last of her pack had been lucky, but this morning they were attacked. During the attack, she lost her parent, and her brother was the only one left of her family. She had no idea what happened to the rest as most were captured in nets.

Yet he stayed behind to help protect the pack as the vulpixs tired to run for safety.

She lost track of the others. She had been running so hard she didn’t even realize she was alone.

Now, she was in deep trouble as her body was racked in pain. Not from her pursuers, but from exhaustion.

She needed to get further away as she could feel her lungs burn with pain.

“Please someone help me. Please Arceus hear my plea,” she breathed out tiredly.

At that moment Jeff hears a voice. He didn't see anyone near him, but he could swore he heard something.

“Must be losing my mind. I don’t see anyone. Damn it, if I see that Ninetales again I going to kill it for sure.”

He walks forward, thinking about how he is going to kick that Ninetales ass. When a red blur hits him in his chest sending him to the ground.

He groans as he is on his back thinking what had hit him. His first thought was a Geodude as they tend to do that for no real reason. Yet, he figured he would have some broken bones because of it.

He slowly gets up as he sees a red vulpix, shivering in fear of something. Than it happen.

She clung to his shirt with it’s paws, ”HELP ME !!!” she practically screams him.

His first thought is, he has lost his mind as pokemon don't speak english unless trained to at an early age. Those who do, use special abilities like the Lucarios with their aura speech.

He opens his mouth to say something but she pleads again.

“Please human, help me. They are after me,“ she is in tears as she looks at him.

He is about to ask who and Arceus gives him an answer with a half dozen Mightyenas that come from the tall grass. They surround him as he just glowered at them.

“What do you know, a human is here. Listen up human, give us the vulpix and we will let you go.” the one closest to him laughs a bit.

Another laughs “Why are you asking for fool? He can’t understand us.”

“If I don’t, what will you do?” Jeff slowly rises.

All the yenas look at him surprise. “You understand us?”

“Yes I do. Why are you after this little one?“ He holds the terrified pokemon in his arms. He can feel the little fire pokemon shiver in fear.

“Just do as we say human and you will walk away with maybe just a bite.” they all laugh.

Jeff weighs his options. He has a wild pokemon in his arms who is to scared to do any attacks. He is outnumbered with no weapon on him and a pack of Mightyenas who in all sense could rip him to shreds. Somehow that bitch is the cause of all this.

“Well if you put it that way,” he takes the vulpix and holds her in front of the yenas. “Fine you want her?”

She freaks out as she flails “I DON’T WANT TO DIE!!!”

The yenas smile as they approach her. They fail to see Jeff with his cell. He fires off his camera with the flash blinding each of them. He pulls the vulpix close and takes off running.

“Ha, who says I can’t do a pokemon move. Now for extreme speed. Feet don’t fail me now.” he says as he runs for his life.

He was going to give her to them, but he wasn’t that cruel. Anyway, she wasn’t the focus of his anger. What was making this worse was that he understood what they were saying. He had no power like that as he grew up. If he did, he would ask those fucking assholes why they made his life like shit.

He could hear the yeans begin to howl. He was in trouble now. Yes, he had a lead but in the end, he was human and they were pokemon. Trained to hunt like a pack. It wouldn’t take long to catch him and shred him apart.

He could do little but run.

He could feel the vulpix shiver against him as he ran. He could see this not ending well as he can hear the angry barks of the yenas closing in on him. He was outnumbered. What could he do?

He could climb a tree, but they would attack him with their long range attacks like shadow ball or something. He didn’t want to risk being in a dead end either. His lungs were on fire as were his legs. He had his burst of adrenaline, but that was fading fast. He could feel his body ache.

This was going to end badly. He never did anything wrong. No that wasn’t true. He tried to kill that Ninetales. But that was in his right to attack. She destroyed his life, as they all did. Yet here he was helping one of them.

He was at a loss and then it happened. A large orange and black beast with a giant yellow mane lands in front of him and roars as he falls face first on the ground. He could hear the yenas stop and begin to sound like they were in fear of something. Jeff looked up and saw two large Arcanines towering over him and looking down with anger in their eyes.

“They are our prey,” a yena barks out.

“This is our territory. You do not enter unless you wish to die dark dog.” The large arcanine growls out.

The yena seem to try to judge this. They do have more numbers than the Arcanines so maybe they could use that as an advantage. One lunged at them as he shielded the vulpix out of instinct. Yet the yena is caught in mid air by the Arcanine as its powerful jaws clamp onto the dark canine. The yena howls in pain as the Arcanine snaps its jaws hard until there a loud snap is heard as the yena goes limp, blood dripping to the forest ground. It bites down harder, breaking the dead yena in half as the others back away in fear.

“Leave now or be destroyed.”

The words carry no other option as they run off, tails between their legs.

Jeff is breathing hard as he could not believe he almost died. The Arcanine moves over Jeff, blood still dripping from its great jaws.

“What should we do with them. The human looks tasty.”

Jeff stiffens up at those words. He was dead on so many levels. He could do nothing to this great beast. If it wanted him dead, he would be. The other Arcanine sighs before noticing the little vulpix in his arms shaking.

“So you saved that little one from those fools? I guess you humans do have a bigger heart than most.”

“Why are you talking to him Flare? He can’t understand you,” the other Arcanine speaks as he spits out some blood in his mouth, licking the rest off his muzzle.

“Thank you Flare for helping. If not for you and your friend, we both would’ve been dead,” Jeff smiles.

Both arcanines look dumbfounded by this.

You can understand us human?”

“Yes I can Flare,” Jeff replies as he cradles the little vulpix in his arms which they both see.

“Oh, you were protecting that little one were you? We have some of them back at our den. Maybe she can be reunited with her parents there,” Flare speaks out.

“Wait how do you know she is female? I only know from her talking,” Jeff says a bit confused as one could barely tell if the vulpix is female being held in his arm.

“Her scent. Can’t you smell her human?” The other Arcanine states in a matter of fact tone.

Flare laughs at his companion. ”Lyle, he is human. They can’t use their senses like us. Give him a break. He can understand us which is good enough for now. Though he smells and sounds a bit different from the other humans near by.”

Other humans? Maybe he can find out where he is. For now he can unload the vulpix with them. Not that he wants to be near her, but he didn’t want her to be alone. Maybe he isn’t such a jerk? Yeah right. If one of those Ninetales that the Arcanine are helping out are the one that sent him him, he knows he will kill it.

Flare stops and looks at Jeff.

“I never felt such a bloodlust from a human before.”

Jeff stops and he looks at the Arcanine whose fur is at end. Was Jeff that angry? He never thought of it that way. He was always angry since the last few months after she left. His one true love. Small wonder why most pokemon stayed away from him. Was he really that hateful?

“I am sorry. I’m angry about someone who put me in this situation in the first place. I never knew how much hatred I had,” he looks away embarrassed.

Lyle gives a grunting laughter. “You have fangs little human, for you to have that much hatred. It will draw many to confront you. Best to control that anger. Otherwise you might not get as lucky as you were today.”

“Lyle is right. I can sense that bloodlust from you yet….“ Flare looks at the vulpix sleeping in his arms. “Her kind do not trust many easily. Yet she is sleeping in your arms despite your anger. Strange.” Flare starts to head off towards his den.

Jeff follows thinking of his words. Jeff has been angry all his life with them and yet here he saves one of them.

Jeff wonders why she is asleep but then again, how scared she was when they were being chased. It was then when he ran into a big fluffy obstruction. He falls backwards looking up seeing the one called Flare had stopped. Jeff looks around him and sees some vulpix's and Ninetales. A Ninetales walks up and glares at Jeff.

”Give the child up human filth.”

“Look mutt, I saved her. You know what, I don’t care. Here!” he says with malice as he places her on the ground as she still sleeps.

“You and your kind human are …...wait you understood me?!?”

“I’m getting sick of this. Where is the this human settlement? I don't want to be around them any more than I have to be,“ he says, pointing at the Ninetales.

Flare sighs. “I will take you there human. Get on my back as it will be faster.“

Jeff does, not before giving the Ninetales an evil glare which causes it to actually back up.

Lyle looks at the Ninetales before speaking.

“You know he saved her right? He could have left her behind and saved his skin but he didn’t.”

The ninetales looks away with a bit of shame.

”I hate to be the one to tell her that her family was all captured by those other humans. I blame them all for what they did to this once proud pack. Now there are less than a few of us left.” It looks into the sky before continuing. “The signs are showing an early frost. With so little of us who can hunt and withstand this cold. I have little hope for our kind.”

“Maybe if you asked, we could help out. Not like we are really hurting to help a fellow friend.” Lyle states.

The vulpix wakes up with a start as the wind blows. The chill in the air sends a chill through her fur as many of the fire foxes gather together for warmth.

She looks around for the human as she wanted to thank him.

“Child come here we need to talk,” the Ninetales says softly, beckoning her over as he begins the sad tale that he has told too many already of their friends and family.

Once again I am sorry for the lateness of this chapter. Though it don't help no one is rreading this so no real pressure to get a chapter out in a timely matter.

Those few who do read this I thank you. Those who do read this please fav rate and comment. Thank you.
