#2 of First Moon

Hi! Glad you stumbled by this short follow up to my story called First Moon. If you haven't read the first part I'd suggest it. Feel free to read and comment I love any feedback I get as all writers do. Have a great day and enjoy.

Adrian stood still; he heard something. His ears turned to the direction of the sound. The sound came from behind him. He smelled something the opposite way the sound came from.

"Christophe is that you?" Adrian said.

Adrian was rushed from his flank. He was tackled to the ground. He found himself trying to fight off another wolf. The wolf bit and clawed Adrian; it aimed for his neck. After battling the wolf for an awhile, Adrian managed to throw the wolf off of him. The wolf landed on the ground with a thud and a quick whimper, but was right back on his feet. The wolf stood upright on two legs. The wolf had a coat of fur as silver as steel. He stood at least seven and a half feet tall at the top of the ears. The wolf was large and well-toned. He stood as a ghost in the rays of the full moon.

"Christophe, it's you! You survived! Even better, you are in Anthrex Vultus form!" Adrian yelped pleased.

The silver wolf roared at Adrian and let a monstrous howl into the night sky, a howl that's purpose was only to strike fear into those who heard it. The silver wolf bolted at Adrian for another attack. Adrian dodged the attack sliding out the way. The wolf ran into a tree knocking, it down.

"Oh right, you're still angry at me. The last thing you probably thought before transforming was to make me pay. Well since you are in an uncontrollable rage, let's find you some more suitable prey," Adrian said, pulling out a fragment of clothing from a pouch he carried.

"But first let's have some fun." He smiled sharp white teeth.

The two circled each other. The silver wolf snarled and growled at Adrian. It flexed his powerful claws ready for the fight. He was ready to kill. Adrian gazed at the mad wolf ready to counter any attack. He picked up the sword and tomahawk Christophe at brought with him. The silver wolf he dropped down on all fours and charged at Adrian. Adrian was ready to counter the attack. He expected the silver wolf to simply lunge for his neck. It caught Adrian off-guard. Instead of lunging for Adrian's neck, he slid right by Adrian using his paw to trip him. Adrian fell to his back. Before he could get up, the silver wolf turned back and clawed Adrian on the side. Adrian went rolling across the ground into a tree.

"That's it, Christophe. Attack in ways I won't expect." Adrian said standing back up. He put his hand to his side and felt blood and smiled. The silver wolf smelled the blood in the air and was energized by it. Both charged at each other. They fought each other. Snarls, growls, and roars were heard from the mountain top. The two fought and rolled. Adrian was enjoying the combat. The mad silver wolf was no match for the experience of Adrian. The silver wolf attacked savagely. He became more enraged as his attempts to kill failed over and over. Adrian subdued the silver wolf and pinned him on the ground. He stuck the piece of clothing into the wolfs nose. The silver wolf backed off of Adrian as the new scent settled in his nose.

"That's it now. Let the scent of your true prey settle in." Adrian rumbled.

Off in the distance howls from another wolf pack went up. The silver wolf had tuned in to the new smell. He let out another howl, dropped on all fours, and began to run full speed in the direction of the distant howls'. At the howls source was his new prey, prey that the silver wolf would hunt forevermore. Driven on by a scent he would never forget, Christophe ran to kill his new prey.
