Chapter 2: You got a friend in me

Eventually leading the Fire Pokemon inside his home after convincing the Blaziken not to worry bout the stares of curiousity, Taur notices it's hair is shorter than expected, recognising it's smaller hair, he looked to the Blaziken.

“You're a girl right?" The bovine asked as the Blaziken didn't turn to see him as she was admiring the place, despite Taur's laziness to clean the lounge room. The Blaziken hadn't been inside a human home, let alone see the outside of one as she'd only been in the human forest for a few hours at the man's guess.

“Blaze…" The female Pokemon utters as he looks at the carpet in the lounge room and the marble tiling in the kitchen as the two completely constrasted each other before the Blaziken's stomach gurgled, sounding out as the noise seemed to echo around the joined Kitchen and Living room before Taur chuckled a little before walking into the kitchen, glancing back at the Blaziken eying him.

“How about we get you some food hm?" He asked, noting the rather slim figure of the Blaziken, perhaps it was merely his imagination but Taur seemed to find the Blaziken abnormally skinny with it's feathers dull and it's cream coloured mane having smears of dirt brown on it, soon returning his focus to finding food for the Blaziken, noticing the extra steaks he'd greedily cooked as extra but later decided for a lazy dinner for the next night. The man pulled the steaks out only to have some of the steak sauce drip onto his thumb due to the plastic wrap coming loose.

“Ah come on… Really?" He sighed, undoing the wrapping and putting the steaks into the microwave, pressing the buttons needed before confirming it, the microwave lighting up as the steak spun in the device, Blaziken soon perking up and smelling the aroma of meat before noticing Taur's sauce coated thumb, soon dashing around to him: she grabbed his hand and engulfed his thumb into her mouth, beak resting on his thumb whilst Taur stood, mostly shocked and confused as he watched the Blaziken suck the sauce off his thumb before she released the finger, coated in her saliva and clear of Sauce, she soon turned to Taur and whined in wanting.

“Blaziken…" She pleaded as the man blinked, still processing what happened before the ding of a microwave jolted the two to attention as Blaziken growled as her wrists flared up again but Taur soon stood in front of it.

“Wait Wait Wait! That's cooking your food!" He shouted in desperation not to cause a fire inside the house as the Blaziken looked at him, then the microwave and sniffed, recognising the scent of Steak Sauce before pushing Taur infront of the Microwave and pointing at it with hunger-fuelled intent.

“Blaziken Blaze!" She demanded, Taur chuckled nervously, hoping not to make the Firefighter Pokemon angry.

“Ok ok! I'll get your food." He tried calming before turning to the microwave and opening the door, putting the plate on the Kitchen bench as Blaziken immediately picked up one of the steaks and tore through it, it's beak stabbing into the meat as Taur grinned at the sight, thinking it to be somewhat cute before he looked to the selves and took some paper towels for after, also getting out some vegetables he'd also made for the leftover dinner and putting them beside Blaziken as she continued devouring the cattle by-product.

“Wow… You can really eat." The waiting man noted beside the Blaziken before seeing the reason for her hunger, Blaziken's feathers barely hid the skin underneath which had glimpses of the skeleton of Blaziken, the Pokemon had been starving, and was eating it's first taste of meat in a long time by the looks of it as she narrowly dodged eating the bones, Taur felt incredibly stupid not noticing this first or else he'd have gotten some more apples for the trip back to his house, he was pulled from his thoughts but an accomplished chirp, looking to Blaziken, she beamed for a second before frowned and sounding a low, sad chip as the plate was empty and it clenched it's talons as if it'd been coated in alien substance, reaching around and grabbing a wet cloth, the man cleaning it's claws and dried it with the paper towels, a few seconds passed before the Blaziken started clenching and inspecting it's talons before prodding it's feathers.

“You ok Blaziken?" Taur asked, the Blaziken merely glanced at him before returning to the discovery of cleanliness, Taur didn't know if this'd also help or make it angry but he grabbed a bowl and filled it with water before handing it to Blaziken, the avian bird staring at it for a second before heartily gulping down the water as Taur beamed, glad it'd worked as Blaziken started scratching it's feathers, the man simply chuckled and took Blaziken's arm, telling it to follow him as it did so cautiously. Taur soon led the Pokemon to the bathroom as he started filling a bath, Blaziken jolted back, flames flying out from it's wrists as Taur was just as quick to defend the bathtub, aware this was probably the first time he'd have to save a bath.

“Hey Hey hey! It's ok! It's ok, it's warm water see?" I say, putting his hand in the water and swirling before pulling it out with a grin, while it wasn't lukewarm, it was pleasantly warm as Taur felt a pang of jealously towards the Blaziken before looking to it as it eyed the bathtub, slowly edging closer before it shakily put it's talon in the bath, eyes opening as it splashed it's talon in the water, noticing it's warmth before it soon stepped into the bath, a little bit of dirt flowing off her feet before she steadily sat down, stiff at first before she soon idly splashes water.

“Blaze." She utters as Taur smiled, soon speaking up as Blaziken looked to him curiously.

“You like it?" He asked, Blaziken thinking as it waved it's fingers around in the water before nodding at Taur with a small smile.

“Blaziken." She nodded as her lips curled upward, Taur smiling as well at the result as he noticed some dirt still caught in Blaziken's mane.

“Ah, you're still dirty, hold on, I know I left a facewasher in here." He noted as he dunked a cloth left on the side of the bathtub before he soon rubbed Blaziken's shoulder, the firefighter Pokemon looked to him as Taur seemed to keep going, humming as he cleaned the Pokemon, Blaziken soon relaxed a little more, it was clear this human only wanted to help her and this the first time she'd came this close to a human before, but this one was selfless and kind, she smiled before turning to Taur whom stepped back in surprise.

“What is it?" He asked, Blaziken soon stood up and shook its body, outlining it's body with the wet feathers flattening, standing up and getting out of the bath before hugging Taur, the man slightly confused as the firefighter Pokemon continued to hug him. The bovine still unsure and feeling a little awkward, decided the hug the soaked Blaziken as she murred.

“Blaze…" She said quietly, Taur chuckling after a few seconds of silence.

“It's ok, I'm just glad you've trusted me." The bovine grinned, the Blaziken soon shivering as Taur soon let go and looked to her with concern.

“Do you want to go back in the bath or dry off?" He asked, the Blaziken shook her head and let go of Taur before focusing and punching her fists together, knocking the two as the water soon evaporated off her, the Blaziken soon dry as steam trailed off her. Taur stood stunned before looking to her feet and puffing in annoyance.

“Well at least you're dry." He muttered, the Blaziken confused before she stood off the towel she was standing on to see the towel with a hole burnt through it. Immediately, the Blaziken grabbed it and hugged Taur tightly, warm feathers pressing on his body as she knocked him over, crying and grieving the loss of the towel as tears welled up in her eyes, the man soon petted her in response.

“Hey hey… It's ok, it's just a towel, you didn't know." He tried comforting as the Blaziken looked up at him, nodding and sitting up as she sniffed, wiping her tears away as Taur sat up before pushing himself to his feet. The Blaziken looking at him, curious as the man rubbed his shirt, now damp with water from Blaziken's wet hug as he looked back to her.

“Hey Blaziken, did you have a trainer or a master before you came here?" He asked, Blaziken shook her head as if the fact was commonplace knowledge, taur continued.

“Well, how about you stay with me? I promise I won't give you a stupid nickname." He offered, raising a hand as a promise as Blaziken thought it over, the Pokemon deciding what she should do, thoughts of his kindness and what he'd done to help her, the forest was nice but it wasn't warm like his house, and she did have nowhere to sleep, she soon nodded.

“Blaziken." She agreed, Taur surprised and happy explicitly shown as he fistpumped in excitement, owning his first Pokemon, let alone a Blaziken, probably his favourite as he thought before clapping and pointing at the Female Pokemon.

“Pyra! How's that for a name?" He asked, the Blaziken smiled and nodded, Taur grinning.

“Ok then, your new name is Pyra!" He grinned, excited as the Blaziken also grinned excitedly, perhaps just happy to see her new friend happy. Taur soon thought though.

“Hey… Pyra, If you know Flare Blitz, the one you used on that Ariados, I wonder what other moves you know…" The bull thought and spoke to Pyra, whom tilted her head before Taur soon walked for the Backyard door.

“Come on! Let's see!" He called, Pyra walking after him as he soon walked outside, the Blaziken looking around the small patch of grass and utilities outside the house as she spied Taur grabbing a Hose.

“It's ok, this is incase you start anymore fires, I'm not going to get you." The man instructed, Blaziken nodded in understanding as he rubbed his head.

“Ok, so you know Flare Blitz, what other moves do you know?" He asked, pointing to a large stump with some wood he'd left out, Pyra soon turned to it with a glare as Taur watched from the Sidelines, the Blaziken took off with a dash, rushing at the block of wood as her claws glowed before her claws dug into the wood, marking it with deep scratch marks: Taur thought this was Slash as Pyra continued, the wood flying off her claws and flying across the yard to the neighbour's window, the Blaziken however soon had particles of Green flowing off her for a moment before she launched at the Log, rushing infront of it and tackling with her mane spreading wide as she headbutted the log, the firefighter pokemon experiencing a little bit of pain before soon uppercutting the Log as she went up from the jump of the Uppercut, the log braking apart as it was accelerated from Pyra's punch, the powerful strike sending it so high that Taur couldn't see it as Pyra fell and landed perfectly, turning to the bull who was still searching the skies for the missing log.

“Blaziken!" Pyra called as she got Taur's attention successfully, the bovine looking to her.

“Oh! Sorry, well done! I think that was… Slash… Hmm… Extreme Speed?" He asked, Blaziken shaking her head.

“Blaze." She corrected as Taur thought, unable to translate Blaziken's speech.

“Brave Bird?" He asked, the Blaziken smiling and nodding in congratulations as Taur smiled and thought.

“And… Um… Come on Brain! Uh…. Sky Uppercut!" He asked as Pyra walked to him.

“Blaziken!" She nodded, Taur soon grinning.

“Yes! Alright! High five!" He celebrated, putting a hand up for a high five as Pyra looked at him quizzically before copying his gesture, the bull responded by slapping her hand gently as he continued grinning, the Blaziken still confused. Taur soon noticed and turned to her.

“That's called a High five Pyra, it's something Humans do to show a celebration, or as a Hello." He lectured as the Blaziken nodded, soon looking to the inside of the house.

“You want to go inside?" Taur asked, glancing to the Blaziken as she nodded, Taur smiling and walking inside.

“Well ok then." He nodded, soon letting Pyra walk in first before following and shutting the door afterwards, grabbing his phone out of his pocket and checking it as Pyra wandered into the Kitchen with a hungry look in her blue eyes. Checking his Phone, Taur noticed that his ringtone of a rock remix of an anime was playing as he quickly answered his phone, Pyra watching him while having an apple gripping in her beak.

“Hello?" Taur asked, noting he'd left the TV on and a News Report was showing an empty store in the Mall was suddenly been converted into one of the first Pokemon centers in the world, noting the news: he put his attention back on the phone.

“Taur, what do I do?! These two Pokemon just shown up at my door and there's this Delphox that's talking! Sorry! I mean Telepathy!" The younger male sped through, sounding anxious as Taur could barely make out what he was saying.

“Woah Woah! Slow down man! Now, what's this about a Delphox?" He asked, still confused as Puck puffed and took a breath in, trying to calm himself.

“Well, a Delphox and injured Rattata showed up at my door, I let them in but Mom and Dad are afraid they're going to eat all the food or something and this Delphox can talk to me with telepathy!" He tried once more to explain as Taur listened, nodding his head as Pyra sat down beside him with the crunch of an Apple.

“Ok, first off, cool, second: Ask that Delphox what happened to that Rattata." Taur started, trying to figure out if the Delphox accidently hurt it, Taur and Pyra kept listening as Puck quickly replied, Taur figured he was on speaker while the Blaziken was still mystified that the block he held talked back.

“She says some trainer came out of nowhere and hurt the Rattata but she noticed him and managed to scare the two off with a Flamethrower attack…. And then she went to us seeing as we were the closest and we were the only ones still up." Puck continued, Taur lying back on the couch as Pyra stared at the TV, listening to the end of the news and watching an Advertisement for Pringles.

“The two are nice enough, even though the Rattata likes to try and eat my Bed legs." He says, a hint of annoyance coming through.

“Ok, first off, have you bandaged the Ratatta?" Taur asked, there's a slight creak before he replies.

“Yeah, I had some lying around, I was just checking to make sure it was ok!" The teen answered, Taur soon nodding again.

“Ok good, got any ice?" He asked, Puck was quiet for a second before continuing.

“Mum just gave me an ice pack." He said chalantly, there was a small speak and a rustle of the phone before Puck was able to talk.

“He seems better…" Puck noted, Taur smirking at the relief in his voice.

“Oh nice! How'd you think it was a boy?" The bovine asked as Pyra watched somekind of Action movie, a van skid across the concrete as she watched, there was a pause from Puck before he managed to answer.

“Well I just guessed…" He answered before continuing.

“Delphox has been quiet, Delphox, are you ok?" Puck asked as Taur listened.

“Yeah it's ok, I don't mind if you stay here, I'm sure mom and dad won't mind either as long as you don't start any fires." He told the Delphox as Taur spoke up.

“Hey Puck, ask Delphox if it had a name." The bovine suggested, they was a small amount of chatter before Puck replied.

“Apparently, she's named Hazel." Taur grinned at the answer.

“Well then, can I come over tomorrow dude? I'd like to see this little renegade team." He asked, Puck seemed to like the idea.

“Well sure!" The teen answered, seemingly happy that Taur suggested it.

“Awesome."

“Ok, I think I'll go to bed, Night." Puck farewelled as Taur sighed and got up, diverting Pyra's attention from the TV.

“Night man." Taur dismissed as he was met with the ding of Puck hanging up, putting his phone away as he smiled at the Blaziken.

“Hey Pyra, you ready to hit the hay?" The bovine asked, Pyra looking at him puzzled as Taur rubbed his head.

“Come with me." He instructed as he walked down the hallway, the Blaziken following him with curiosity as he opened the door to the Guest bedroom, a white room contrasted by black carpet and a green stripe running along the lower half of the walls.

“You can sleep here if you want Pyra." Taur explained, looking at the dresser as Pyra spied the bed and pointed at it.

“Blaze?" She asked, unfamiliar with the concept of a bed, Taur walked to the bed and pulled back the sheets, motioning for Pyra to slide in and try it.

“Go on." The man offered as Blaziken nodded and slid into the bed, talons sliding into the embrace of the blanket and mattress with mild surprise as Taur pulled the sheets over her as she laid, surprised at the feeling as Taur smiled.

“Ok, get some sleep Pyra, goodnight." He smiled before leaving the door partially open as he walked back to his room and went to bed.

-TIMESKIP-

As the morning sun shone across the city, Taur laid asleep in his bed, wearing only his boxers as he remained sprawled out on the bed before an alarm buzzed on his phone, stirring from his sleep, Taur sluggishly reached over and grabbed his phone and put it on snooze with a single swipe of his finger as he sighed and rubbed his eyes, soon feeling something warm under his back and on his stomach, concerned; he grabbed the two things and tried moving them to no avail as he looked to where the two limbs were coming from only to be surprised by the appearance of Pyra, fast asleep on the other side of the bed as Taur stared in disbelief.

'W…Why is she in my bed? Was the other bed not comfy enough?' He thought to himself as he noted Pyra lightly hugging Taur, the man soon wriggled a little as he didn't know whether to sneak out or try to move her claws but before Taur could decide, Pyra awoke with a stir as Taur raised his hands as the Blaziken looked to the Bovine in surprise.

“Blaze?" She asked, Taur looked to her, equally confused as he explained.

“Look, I didn't touch you or move you, you probably got mistaken which bed was yours!" The Man explained in an attempt to qwell any perversions, but the Blaziken just seemed to forget or not care as she sat up, rubbing her eyes as the bull stretched in the opposite direction of Pyra, looking to his Phone for the time, only to discover that it was 11 o'clock, now realizing that it was close to midday, Taur soon rushed around the room, grabbing a new shirt and some Jeans as Pyra sat on the bed, confused.

“Blaziken?" She asked, Taur snapping to her.

“Go find some breakfast Pyra! We gotta meet up my friend today and find out where his Pokemon came from!" He shouted as he searched through his wardrobe for some deodorant whilst Pyra sleepily got up and stumbled to the fridge, grabbing yet more meat to feast on for breakfast while the human sped around trying to make up for lost time.

Eventually, both of them started their walk to Puck's house, Taur taking pictures of any Pokemon he saw whilst Pyra merely tried to figure what that slim metal bar was that he was holding did, with a few knocks, the door opened to show his Father, looking to Taur then the Blaziken with a slight feeling of worry.

“Ah… You've gotten one of those Pokemon to follow you too huh?" He asked, focusing on Taur as he nodded, the young adult grinning.

“She looked like she needed food and a place to stay so I thought I'd help her." He explained, the Large man said with a smile full of pride as the father scratched his head.

“Hm... Well you two can come in, just try not burn something." He warns before proceeding back inside, the two soon headed inside up towards Puck's room to find him grooming the Injured Rattata whilst the Delphox had already felt their presence and simply stared before Puck looked up.

“Oh! Hey Taur!" He waved, Taur taking this as an Invitation stepped into his bedroom, the Rattata glancing over his shoulder in an attempt to see the new people, Puck motioning to the Rattata on his thigh.

“This is Speedy-“ He then points to the Delphox, standing behind the boy.

“And this is Hazel." He contined, the Fox Pokemon giving a small smile and wave, however soon Pyra and Hazel started to talk to each other as the two men watched in interest before looking to the Rattata, Taur noting the bandages on Rattata's leg, soon asked Puck.

“Hey Puck, what happened to the Rat- I mean Speedy?" He asked as the Teenager soon looked at Taur with a saddened face.

“Hazel told me that some kind of guy is going around with his Primeape and fighting every single Pokemon he sees." Puck stated, Taur just looked at him confused as he leant on the doorframe.

“Well… Yeah, I mean trainers fight wild Pokemon to become stronger man." He tried explaining as Puck shook his head.

“Yeah I know that, but, like: this guy was merciless, he'd command his Primeape to keep hitting it, even after it fainted. Apparently Speedy tried defending a Purrloin but that Primeape defeated him in one Punch, then started punching him more." He growled, the boy angry that such a thing could happen, Taur simply sighed before patting his shoulder.

“Tell you what, I saw an Ad for Pokemon Centers on TV last night, you can grab some cash and we'll get some supplies for our Pokemon, heck: maybe if we're lucky, we can beat that Primeape trainer with our awesome Pokemon!" He encouraged, Puck sitting a little straighter as he nodded, the anger gone for now.

“Yeah… That'd be nice, Thanks Taur." He smiled, the Young Adult smirked.

“No problem, now, grab your things and I'll tell your parents, worst that'll happen is that I have to go toe to toe with a Pig monkey." He chuckled, Puck grinned at the name as the two prepared to go to the Mall.
