Undertale 3
#12 of Leisure Writing
The last of my small fanfic before my enthusiasm dropped for it. I have more for it in my head, I just don't really care enough about it to write it down. X3
T...that can't be right, she thought, M-maybe he just means that...th-they've passed on... N-no, that can't be it either...can it? D-do kids know their mortality by his age? Wait...how old is he even? The cub lowered his arm and stared back at Alphys, flicking his eyes back and for the between her and the broken mask. Noticing that, the reptile shook her head and nodded.
"R-right, the mask. Eheh..." she said nervously, forcing a smile to save face. With a slight wave of her tail, she resumed in leading the child to her lab. Occasionally, she glanced back at the cub. "...S-so kid," she asked, "where..._exactly_is it that you live?" The kid's paw pointed straight up again. "R-right..." Alphys nodded nervously, "but uh...w-what is your home called? It-it has a name right?"
The cub nodded. "Home."
"Right. Wwwwhat do you call your home?"
"Home," he answered simply.
"...R-right... B-but like...well, what do your parents call it?"
"Home."
"...N-never mind," she answered dismissively. Well, at least she knew that they were alive. But that still left the question of why had the child pointed up. As far as she knew, all of the monsters had been forced into the underground and behind the barrier. Sure, there was the possibility of some select families managing to hide away and escape them, but it was highly unlikely. At the very least, she hoped that this kid was just pretending. Aside from the fact that it left several questions if it were to be true, her concern fell on the boy. After all, the barrier was a one-way door. Anyone could enter, but never leave. If there somehow was his family out there...
She shook her head again. No use in adding even more things to her list of things to worry about (It was already flooded as it was now). Right now, she just wanted to get home and fix the kid's mask up.
After a fair amount of garbage trudging, and a silent ride down the river on the "river styx," the pair found themselves at the back entrance to Alphys' lab. With them so close to their goal, the reptilian was unable to help herself from moving a little bit faster. Within mere moments, they were inside. Alphys let out a sigh of relief as the lights snapped to life. Home sweet home. For a minute, she almost forgot why she had returned so early in the first place. She turned back to the kid and knelt down to his level.
"A-alright, kid," she began, "We're here at my lab. I should be able to fix up your mask with some of my stuff." The cub nodded silently. "Umm...i-it might uh...take a little while though... Soooo........." She clasped her hands together and nervously twiddled her thumbs. "Ummmm.........d-do you like......anime?" The cub stared back at her and tilted her head to one side.
