Confessions
A short little feel good story I put together fairly quickly. I definitely think I'll expand more on the story between these two, this story screams all kinds of possibilities. What do you guys think?
Hiroaki sat in silence by the mountain stream, watching the sparkling, luminous waters cascade down the mountainside. He was thinking deeply on his life thus far. So much had happened in such little time, so much tragedy, joy, pain, and hope. He sighed deeply, feeling slight pain in his chest as he inhaled.
Excalibur was watching from a ways away, carefully probing his mind so as he wouldn't feel her doing so. As a mewtwo, she was surprisingly close to her trainer, having strong feelings for him. She could feel his distress and wanted to do something for him. Tentatively, she approached, stepping lightly so as to disturb him at the last possible moment.
"How long have you been standing there?" Hiroaki said without looking back.
Excalibur cursed herself, even she couldn't get around Hiroaki's trained ears.
"I've been looking into your thoughts," she said.
"I know," Hiroaki replied, "I could still feel it,"
Excalibur went and seated herself next to him, tail reflexively wrapping around her beloved trainer. They sat in silence for a while, taking in the serenity of their environment.
"I might have to release you," Hiroaki suddenly said.
"W-What?" Excalibur stammered, eyes wide as she clenched tighter to him.
"Pinwheel too, along with many others, it's just too dangerous," he said.
"Hiroaki, what are you talking about? You can't release any of us, we all love you too much," Excalibur said, looking deeply at Hiroaki with concern.
"I'm gonna drop this life, it's just too much for everyone, I'm moving in with professor Hang. Taggart will be all over him to get you guys, I can't let him do that,"
Excalibur wiped her eyes, feeling weakness grow in her body. Everything she had known, gone. The training, pointless, her friends, empty, her love... meaningless.
"No," she suddenly said, "you've given up your fight, given up your freedom,"
She rose from the ground, staring down at him angrily, "You're not the trainer I used to know, you're not the Hiroaki I loved,"
Hiroaki was wide eyed in shock, dumbstruck by his pokemon's words as she turned away and walked off on her own.
"E-Excalibur, I..." he swallowed hard, "I'm sorry, but I'm not the trainer that you thought I was,"
He chased after her, jogging up behind her and grabbing her shoulder. A sudden, powerful punch of psychic energy hit him square in the chest, knocking him flat on the tough mountainside.
Coughing slightly, he got up and brushed himself off, "Excalibur, I'm sorry! But I can't do anything, I have to do this,"
She stopped, slowly turned to face him, then rapidly approached him.
Hiroaki could see the anger in her eyes, and for the first time in a while, it scared him. He began backing up slowly.
"H-Hey, Excalibur? You know I don't do this because I want to,"
She moved faster, grabbing his collar and pulling him close. her fiery eyes were burning into Hiroaki, what was once love became something else, something Hiroaki couldn't discern.
She pulled him into a kiss. Hiroaki struggled slightly, then relaxed into her passionate kiss, feeling her pull him deeper with each passing moment.
"You are very arrogant, did you know?" Excalibur said through the kiss, "everything you do you don't have to do alone,"
Finishing up, Hiroaki stared into her, her windows to her acceptance and support.
"Through hell and high water we'll be together," Hiroaki said, "working for our future,"
Excalibur smiled, "And maybe a little more," she said, rubbing her belly.
Hiroaki was overtaken in pleasant shock, "You're..."
She giggled, "No, but I could be very soon,"
Hiroaki smiled at the message, slight excitement building inside him, "No leaving this life now, I guess,"
The shared another passionate kiss, proclaiming an unwavering love that could never be broken.
"Finally!" Pinwheel shouted in the distance.
