Drip. Drop.

The rain starts as a lights drizzle. The water starting to flow through gutters and onto the sidewalk. The slight breeze moving the leaves about, even making a few fly through the air. A slight rumble of thunder rumbles the town's eardrums. Even the ears Kayden Marcola feels a bit rumbled from the crack in the sky.

Kayden lies on the ground between two brick buildings. The north building being a bar, the other being a furnishing store. Kayden's fur gets damp, even his clothes soaked in water. His jeans start to uncomfortably chaff up every time he moves his legs. The white T-shirt he wears clings to his body. His tail, fluffy and white, is in front of him, cradled in his arms. His ears limp, but anyone walking by can see the back of his ears blooming the color of rainbow. It reminded people of skittles sometimes. His fox frame also obvious to those who pass by.

Kayden flips over to his other side, getting comfortable to sleep again. A vixen passes by, looking down and feeling sorry for the homeless fox. However, he was anything but homeless. In fact, he had a decent house on Bellrose Lane, but he refuses to go there. Kayden has calmed people down before with his skills but there's no hope with his parents. They're going through a divorce because of the constant arguments. One of the biggest ones being who should be the one to keep Kayden. I'm old enough to take care of myself, he thinks to himself all the time.

His ears perk up to the sound of anger. A sound he's very familiar with. "Well you know what? Fuck you!" the screams say. Whoever it is sounds a bit drunk. The doors to the bar burst open so heavily that they almost break off their hinges. An angry wolf storms out of the bar, angrily muttering to himself.

Kayden looks up and sees the wolf coming closer. The wolf wears a white t-shirt with a black skull and crossbones on it. A leather jacket remains unzipped and hanging on his shoulders. His black jeans have a huge hole in it like something was caught on it like some sort of hook. It sort of fits his grey fur.

As the wolf passes Kayden, the fox can't help but get curious. "What's wrong, sir?" He asks. His voice a little high, a bit close to being feminine. The wolf turns around and shoots the fox a stern look.

"Why should I tell a punk like you?" His voice cold and harsh. Kayden pins his ears down, afraid of what to do next.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean anything by it." Kayden squeaks out. "It's just... maybe I could... help."

"Oh yeah? And why would I want help from a bum like you?" Kayden slowly stands up, his limbs a bit slow from lying down for a long time. He tastes the rain on his lips. It's like drinking from a filtered pond, his mom once told him as a kid. Kayden calmly approached the wolf, showing that the means no harm.

"Because," Kayden says, "I know how to help people." He covers the wolf's cheek with his paw, his thumb stroking his face. Kayden reaches out with his mind and caresses the man's Aura. It's red, heated, from the anger. I can fix that, Kayden thinks.

He lifts his other paw and rubs the man's right shoulder, reaching into the depths of his Aura. He feels it changing with each soft touch. The red slowly fades away. The wolf's muscles no longer being tense. Kayden smiles; progress being made. He reaches within his own energy and searches for the color of happiness: green. When he does, he lets the wolf have some of it.

Kayden moves his paws downward until they reach his midsection. He pulls the wolf in close and embraces him. As the wolf hugs back, Kayden reaches out again and sees the wolf's Aura. It's green. He's happy. "How do you feel?" Kayden asks. He hears a little sniffle coming from the wolf.

"Happy." He says. The answer makes Kayden's ears perk back up and makes his tail slowly swish back and forth.

"What's your name?"

"Kaleb. Garner." Kayden slowly releases Kaleb and sees a tear streaming down his cheek. The rain barely camouflages it. The two smile at each other.

"Well, Kaleb, anytime you ever feel unhappy, just come find me." Kayden says before leaning forward and kissing Kaleb on the nose.

"Ok." Kaleb smiles and then walks down the street.
