_ It is the first time I ever saw the dawn, it's either I slept when it happened or that I never had somebody to see it with. But now I finally found myself someone I am with to call family, and in a few months time we will go around the world to see things that only a few people maybe even none got to see._

_ I for one am exited, but anxious of what new dangers awaits us. But if we are together there is no obstacle that we can't break through. Me and my partner, Gero. These two are the people that saved me from death and regret, and in turn I am in debt to them. They say spring is the season of beginnings and for me it's the beginning of my life as Aruzelf with these people I can call "Family"._

_ But little did I know that I have to see the end of someone soon._

Normal POV

"Aru.." as Gero shakes the snake-like pokemon. "Aru! Wake up!" and suddenly the small dragon woke up. "Oh, Good Morning Gero and Hal." as the pokemon started to stretch. It has been a few weeks since the incident and the dratini has learned a few things. In a certain day in winter, people gather in houses and celebrate the coming of Arceus and they called it Arceusmas. And the pokemon also learned about presents and he was no exemption. He got a claw that came from a dragon type pokemon. Also he found the joys of food that he ate. Hal has given him meat and green things called "Vegtables". Hal told the dragon that if he eats this he will grow strong.

As for Gero, He and Aru has been training with one of his cousins that have come over to train the two in the ways of a pokemon trainer along with Hal. Sadly he was forced to leave early due to the weather, it has been showing signs that Pavil Village's shoreline will be frozen in a matter of days. Knowing that he needs to get to his region as soon as possible, he left to prepare for the upcoming "Unova League". "Hey Aru, want one?" as Hal offers a hot potato. "Thanks!" as the dratini slowly eats the steaming crop.

The sky is purple as time went by, "Hey guys! I have been wondering, how did you find this place?" as he started to ask the two humans. "Umm, Let's see. I recall that we had a trip going to the campsite when we were younger." replied Hal as he tossed in more firewood. "And we kept on goin' until we somehow ended up here. Fortunately we found a path going to the campsite and that is how we found the cliff. And our way back." "Ohhh. And now here we are hanging out at this beautiful place, it feels so liberating having a view above ground without a care in the world." as the three friends continue to converse.

"Guys! It's starting!" as the sun started to rise. As it continue to give light to the town, the trio saw the frozen seashore starting to sparkle, giving the view an all the more beautiful look complimenting the color of the sky. Pokemon cries can be heard at the rise of the sun, flying pokemon started to fly once more in the clear morning sky. And in that moment the mountains covered in white started to glow and form rainbows reaching from the first mountain to the second.

"No matter how many times I look at it. It is a sight to behold." Hal said with his eyes wide open. "Yup!" as the other two agreed. "This is my new beginning." Aru thought to himself. "This is the time for our new start." Gero whispered to himself, clenching at his pokeball. But unknowing to the other two, Hal shed a few tears. "This is the most beautiful thing I ever seen, and I'm glad I am able to see it with my two best friends... For the last time." Hal thought to himself, "Forgive me, Gero and Aru." as he looked at the two with happiness and sadness.

Hal's POV

"Hey guys, let's get something to eat I'm starving!" as I looked at the two. *Growl* "I take that as a yes then!". After a few minutes I went inside my family's restaurant. It is a 2 story building that has prop utensils displayed along with the name of the restaurant "Alkir Family Restaurant". "Good Morning!" as I saw my parents welcome me with open arms. "Good morning! Saw the sunrise I see." the green-haired, muscular man with a gut pulled me into a hug. "It was beautiful, wasn't son?" and my mom joined in the group hug. Still not yet changed into her uniform. "Yup! And we are starving!" "Ok then, I'll go whip up something for everyone, it's the first day of spring ya know." as he separates himself from me and mom to head to the kitchen.

"Have you told them yet?" she whispered as she looks at Gero and Aru as they approach the glass doors. I shook my head. She looked at me with a very sad face as we discussed the issue. "Hal! You know I wasn't wearing winter... Oh good morning Mr. and Mrs. Alkir." as Gero opened the door, as my mom quickly fixed her auburn hair and smiles as she leads the two to a table for five. "By the way Gero, I told your mom you're eating here." "Thanks Mrs. Alkir, I have one question. Are you psychic?" as Gero asks. "No my dear, I just have good intuition. Now get comfy as me and Hal have to help in the kitchen." "Ok".

In the kitchen. "You know the longer you keep it, the more it's gonna hurt." as we sat at the break room for all the employees, but today all of them besides my parents are on a holiday. "I know but... I can't bring myself to do it." "You have a few days left with them. I think that it is best to tell them when that time comes." as mom started to cry knowing what time that is. "And it's better for you to write both of them a letter that will tell them what you want." as she starts to pat my head. "A last will? Well, I only have one thing that I haven't done yet and I can't do it in time." as we pulled each other in a hug.

"Hal, I hope you spend the rest of your life with no regrets. Go and enjoy it with your friends." my dad entered the room, and I know he has been around long enough to know what was going on. "There are only four of us that knows what'll happen. So you'd better get going. We're wasting time." as he wraps his arms around us. I nodded as I leave the room.

"Hey Hal. Why is your eyes red?" as I came back to join the two, Gero while scratching Aru in the back. "Tini, Dra?" as Aru asked. I assumed it is "Are you ok?". "Yeah. Dad was choppin' onions." as I wipe my tears. "Well then eat up!" as my dad wearing his usual serving grin pass a few plates with food. From onion rings to pouched egg and bacon. "Let's eat!" as me and Gero shouted "Dra,dra!" as the dratini looked at dad. "Wad'dya say?" my dad asked. "I think it was "Thank you"." as we continued to eat. "Dra, Dra!" as Aru nodded his head, giving me a sign that I was right.

"'Anything for my boy's best buddies!" as he pats the pokemon at the head before he left.

We spent the rest of the days hanging out from day and night without a care in the world. We ran around town, roamed and helped pokemon rangers most of the time. Gero giving me styler lessons and Aru as the target. As the days go by I slowly wrote my last wills, growing anxious, never knowing when will my life be over.

And today, we are headed towards Dragonite's Cliff and suddenly. *Ba-dump* my heart started to ache and my vision is fading. I felt wobbly that instant then *Ba-dump* I fell to the ground. "Dra,dra" "Hal!" and I blacked out.

I woke up in a hospital bed, head sore and eyes burning from the light. I look to the right, I see Gero and Aru, Gero leaning on the chair as Aru wrapped around his neck. "Looks like my time is up." as I see Gero moving. "Hal! Finally you came to! What happened? Are you alright?" "Dra tini,tini!" as both of them wore concerned faces. I myself can't tell anymore until someone opened the door and it's someone I know who can explain to them what is going on. "Mom! Is Hal gonna be alright?!" as he saw his mom approaching us. "Hal. Is there something you have to say to these two?" as she looks at me in a way that makes me feel guilty for what I have put all of them into.

"Gero, Aru. There is something you should know. I am sick." as I am about to explain Gero looked at me in a way that he has never looked at me before. His eyebrows are relaxed, but his eyes look like it contained sharp shards of auburn crystal, stabbing you right at your soul if you gazed upon them. "Hal has an incurable disease called Sargrafuw syndrome. It forces his brain to grow bigger in an accelerated rate, actually he is the main reason why we develop Bluetinite. In hopes to slow down and stabilize his brain to grow, but I found out one vital error. I also need to alter his biochemistry which is too risky and could even kill him. His parents decided that Hal would just live out his life." as she looks down at the floor as if apologizing.

As I try to look back at Gero I can't bare it anymore. He's a person that has given me the best nine years of my life, comforting me whenever I feel sad, smiling no matter how hard things get and finally he and Aru has given me all what a lonely, sickly guy can ask for. Now only to see that person saddened that I haven't told him anything. "It's all right, Hal." as he pats my shoulder, "I know you don't want us to worry. But we would not be able to..." and I looked at him with all the sincerity I can muster. "It's ok. I already have known that I can't make my dreams come true." and silently I pulled him to a hug. When I did that, both of my best friends started to hug me back and cry.

"It's ok. I want to ask you something... I want you to promise me.."

Normal POV

And suddenly Hal's eyes closed and a second later his body became lifeless. As the two friends heard the device create a sound that is constant, both of them cried even harder as if it is the last time they will ever convey such emotion... And just like that the life of one child. A dream of two, the friendship of three and the secret only hidden by four. Has finally ended.
