Chapter 1: the blue light
Running down the oak forest trail behind his medium two story house in the middle of sunburst town, on a pouring rain day was a wolf with rough gray fur covering his entire body except for his stomach witch was a soft creamy white. This was Thomas; he was a 16-year-old freshman in high school. As he jumped over a log he pulled up his baggy, intentionally torn at the bottom jeans. He was warring a blue T-shirt. He had just gotten into a fight with his father because he got one B on his grade card. Ever since his mother died of cancer a year ago, nothing Thomas's does seem to be good enough for his father. Before his mother died his father built the tree house for him. It's also where he went when his mother died. When he was young his mother would read him stories up there, now it seems to be the only place where he can get close to her.
As he was running through the forest he felt like someone was following him but he didn't care he was to mad. Then he finally came to a stop next to a large tree, as he looked up he saw a small ladder leading to a small wooden platform. He started climbing up the ladder to the little platform. When he reaches the top of the 30 ft. tall oak tree, he sits down, reaches between one of the boards, and pulls out a small photo. It had what looked like a young female wolf with snow white fur all over her body and she was with two other wolfs one was big, tall, muscular, with jet black fur, and was standing next to her while she was holding a small baby wolf. This was a photo his family when he was born. Before his mother died life seemed to be happy, but those times were gone and seems that his father was always unhappy.
Tears started forming on his face, he tried to hold them back but it didn't help. As the tears ran down his cheeks, he pulled his legs up to his chest and buried his head in his arms and started sobbing. He whispered to the picture "Why did you leave us, ever since you left life hasn't been easy. Nothing I do seems to make things better, please give me a sign to help me find the way to make things better."
Just then heard a rustling coming from somewhere nearby and then a little blue orb came out of the bushes and flew towards Thomas. He dried his eyes and watched the small object approach. Thomas stared at as it flew up to him and made a little chirping sound. "Who? What are you and what do you want?" Thomas said in a curious tone.
It just floated in front of then made a happy little chirping sound like it was trying to get his attention. It circled him and then flew to the bottom of the tree and circled the bottom of the tree like it wanted him to follow it. So Thomas climbed down and followed it deeper into the forest.
After what seemed to be about 20 minutes of running through the forest, the orb finally came to a stop at a huge and tall waterfall. It seems to create a rainbow as the falling water reflected the sun's light. The strange thing is that the water was going up and not down, this surprised Thomas but he was more interested with what the orb was doing bringing him here. Then the ball of light went around the small lake and disappeared behind the ancient looking waterfall.
The forest seemed seems to glisten in the mist of waterfall. He could hear birds squawking in the distance but it was too far to hear very well, all he heard was the water. The small dirt path had transformed into a stone path. All the years exploring through the forest as a child he had never seen this place before, it's like it just appeared out of nowhere. He looked back but couldn't see the house or the tree house anymore. He peered over the edge of the lake and the water was completely clear, there some large gold fish in it, but because of the rain it was hard to make out. As he put his hand in the water it felt cool as a spring day. Even though this was a large forest a long time ago it was now only about thirty acres, of land surrounded by a small town called sunburst. The forest has the usual under developed animals that didn't become anamorphics like most of the animals on this planet and krekhor.
When Thomas got to the end of the small lake, he looked behind the waterfall and saw the orb floating in front of what seem to be a giant stone door of some kind. It then went right through the door. Thomas ran up to the door a little confused and saw it had some weird looking symbols on it. The weird thing was that Thomas could read it; it said, "Only the krekhon family may enter through these doors." That freaked him out because his last name was Krekhon. Thomas Krekhon was his name.
There was a small paw print on the door. Something in his head told him to put his paw up there. So he did, as soon as his paw touched the imprint the cracks in the door started glowing. Which trailed along the frame of the door and from the imprint came a bright glow. Thomas closed his eyes because it was so bright.
When the door started to open Thomas just stood there amazed at what just happened, then questions started forming in his head. What is going on? How does this thing know my name? How was I able to read those symbols? Should I go in?
Calm down lets take a look what's in there anyway. He thought to himself as he pushed the questions out of his head and took a look behind the door. The young wolf took a deep breath before he entered the mysterious space. Inside saw a long stone hallway, dimly lit by torches. It was much cooler inside the strange, cave-like hallway. As he started padding down the hallway, the doors shut behind him. Thomas stopped in his tracks, shivering slightly when the door closed, making the light from the torches waver. After a moment, he continued padding forward until he came to a large steel double door with some weird carvings on them, he thought he had seen that symbol somewhere else but that wasn't important now. The doors slowly opened as he approached them to reveal a palatial room with pictures of wolves all along the cold stonewalls. Each one had a name under it; some looked as if they were drawn on paper. Others looked like paintings and some, to Thomas' disbelief, looked like photos. He walked along the walls reading each of them he Jack Krekhon, Jessica Krekhon, and they just going on and on tell he finally got to the second to last one that read Melissa Krekhon, he looked up and saw a picture of his mother. The young wolf shook his head, not believing his eyes. But then the next one read Thomas Krekhon. He looked up and there wasn't a picture.
As he walked over to the coffin he looked around the room. He noticed a bookshelf full of ancient looking books; one of them read "the battle between the Krekhon and the Furries. He put the book down and had forgotten to notice that the room looked ancient like it was thousands of years old, the stones that made the wall were cracked and dusty, it smelled like dust in the room, the marble floor looked it was from medieval times. It had sort of tomb like feeling to it. The room was decorated with the strange symbols and all were different colors. He has never seen such writing in any of his history books so he couldn't figure the culture. He could hear the rain hitting the stone ceiling; he had forgotten it was pouring out side. The room retained the shape of an oval with a dome ceiling; the tomb as at the far back of the room and the door was at the other end at the front. In the middle of the room was a circular step that led up to pedestal, which had a large hole in the ceiling, which was covered by two stone plates, which made the pedestal to dark to read. So he went on looking at the room looking though the books about ancient battles. But then he noticed in the back of the room was a large coffin. He slowly made his way over to it . . .
It read the same symbols on it and it read, "here lays Krekhon the first of the elemental peace keepers." He couldn't believe it his family was of the elemental race! The most hated race on earth hated and feared so much that the furs of earth created an exact replica of earth and forced the elementals to live on! The same elementals that earth are having a war with right now! At school they always told him about how the elementals wished to destroy the furries, because they thought they were an un-evolved species that needs to be eliminated. Everybody hates them the, everybody but a couple of people like his family believe that it is all lies and that the elementals just want peace. And for that his family was always seen as the "enemy sympathizers". He couldn't take it any more and blacked out, and fell to the cold floor.
When he awoke he had gathered his senses and got up slowly. He didn't know how long he had been passed out gut the rain had stopped and the dun was shinning. Each elemental are supposed to be able to control one the 10 elementals fire, water, stone, plant, ice, air, thunder, metal, dark, and light. Elementals are furs they sometimes have skin or fur that matches they're element but most of the time they look the same as regular furs. He dropped to his knees still trying to take it all in, when the ball of blue light appeared again. Thomas came to his senses and watched the orb hover into to a small pedestal where a light from the sun was shining down on it, which wasn't there when he first saw it.
Thomas walked over to it and it had the same symbols on it, it read, "If you wish to awaken your powers to control all 10 of the elemental and become the next elemental peace keeper, read this oath aloud." Thomas thought can't be real but he was interested in having the power to control the elements so he started read the oath
"I Thomas Krekhon hereby promise to bring peace between earth and krekhor. And to take responsibilities for the actions of both races in the future. I promise to only use my powers to defeat the wicked and protect the weak. I hereby give up my future to become the next peace keeper." Then suddenly the ground beneath started shaking and a large beam of green light shot from the sky and hit Thomas. He started to scream because it felt like the light was burning away at his soul.
In the distance a blue husky sheriff that looked about 34 was making his rounds noticed the light shooting from the sky and knew what that was it was an elemental awaking. He immediately called for the EES (elemental elimination squad) for back up and raced down the road to the small farm.
Back in the large room Thomas was experiencing the memories of all the other past elemental peacekeepers. He saw people getting killed by the government and all the peacekeepers saving furries from the government and trying to create peace between the two. Then he saw his mother and she was shooting fireballs at someone, his eyes widened as he saw that it was government agents, and one came up from behind her and hit her with his gun. She fell to the ground and they walked up to her and pointed the gun and at her head. She didn't show any signs of fear before he pulled the trigger she whispered "be safe my son" then with one loud bang her life was ended in a second. He couldn't believe it his father told him she died of cancer while on a trip.
He suddenly snapped back to normal when he heard a gun shot from the distance, it sounded like it was coming from the house. He immediately turned around and ran down the hall and pushed the door open then raced towards the house hoping it is just his dad shooting woodpeckers on his roof. He didn't realize it but he was hover off the ground and flying through the forest trying to get to his father. He got to the backyard in a matter of seconds, with the trees behind him arched toward the house because the wind from him flying through life pushed them over.
He arrived at the house and saw there were black cars in front of his house and recalled one of the memories and knew that those were government agent vehicles. His heart started pounding as he raced towards the house, he wasn't even touching the ground but he didn't care he was just hoping he wasn't too late.
