That Day
Note from the writer- This is my first story, so feel free to critique it. I accept you're feedback.
April 7, 2008- 5:00 AM
"RIIIIIING RIIIIIING!" the alarm clock sprang into life, singing the song of its people. Tyler, 17, woke up to this noise, like he did every morning. The Labrador got out of his bed and put his glasses on. The young dog did his usual routine to prepare for school, then got on his backpack and said goodbye to his mom as usual, and left to go to the bus stop.
7:25 AM
Tyler left his bus and went to class, and he felt that today could be a good day. He went to his first period, as he was supposed to be there by 7:50. As he was going to class, he looked at his clock when he was near his class. "Nice." he said after he realized he wasn't late, but very early because he got there at 7:47. So he sat there and waited.
Period 1- 7:50 AM- History (Mr. Kendek)
The bell rang, and that meant it was time to learn about things that would not matter in his future. Mr. Kendek explained that the class will learn about the economy. "Great. Another day of this and I think i'll go mad." he says to himself. As the teacher starts teaching us about how the US is in debt and the Stock Market, Tyler starts getting distracted, and it was all fun and games until... "Tyler", Mr. Kendek said, asking him for the answer to the question. "What?" Tyler responded, confused. "What is scarcity?" Mr. Kendek asked. Tyler didn't respond. Thankfully, the bell rang 20 seconds later. Then, he was off to second period.
Period 2- 8:50 AM- Gym
After Tyler changed, he went outside with the coach to play Basketball with his friends. As his friends were playing, Tyler was called to the front desk because his mom was calling the school to talk to Tyler. He went up to the front office as fast as he can, because his mom NEVER calls the school unless it's something urgent.
Front Office- 9:44 AM
As Tyler as holding the phone in his ear heard his mother talk, and she appeared very stressed distressed. "Tyler, are you there?!" she asked in a hurried voice "Yes, mom." Tyler replied.
"You're father was just killed, and we have to get out of here immediately!", she replied. "I'm picking you up RIGHT NOW." she added. He put down the phone, and a tear started to roll down his eye. He's dead. Killed by another gang. He sat there in the office until his mom ran in and signed him out to get out of school, and instantly saw all of the furniture in the truck, ready to go into a new house. "I found this in your dad's pocket." Tyler's mom said, holding about $100,000 enough to buy a new house, which is exactly was she was using it on.
Tyler's Parent's Car-10:15 AM
As they were riding down the road in Tyler's Mom's 2001 Escalade, with total silence, just silence. During that time, a ton of thoughts raced his mind. It was too much for him and he started crying a lot in the car. He just cried on the way to his new home. We then pulled up in our new home after about 1 hour of driving, and it was better than our other house. It was roomy, had 2 stories, and it was squeaky clean.
Tyler's New Home- 1:40 PM
We started to unload the furniture from the escalade, and when Tyler's Brother and Mom were done at 8:00 PM, Tylers mom ordered pizza to try and lighten his mood because he has never been this sad before, and his mom knew that pizza always cheers him up, but that pizza didn't work, because he was still very depressed after the pizza because of his father's death. At 10:29 PM, Tyler finally went to bed, and tomorrow, he could start another day, but nothing would still be the same.
