Name: Jack Sylvers

Age: 27

Gender: Male

Species: Housecat (Albino)

Origin: Earth

Occupation: Botanist

Bio: Jack is a quiet, dedicated Botanist working on the Eden Project with the rest of the crew. He grew up on a remote, tropical settlement built on one of the Earth's shrinking oceans. Growing up in a hard-working, middle class family, he learned the worth of dedication and effort from a very early age. Both of his parents set great examples for the young feline, showing him that if he aspires to do great things, equal amounts of effort are required to get there. Of course, this point was always balanced by the idea that achieving one's goals should feel rewarding and that he should pursue what interests him the most, which was a sentiment that greatly boosted his confidence and allowed him to excel in his academic career, despite the numerous challenges.

He was eagerly accepted by the local university once he had completed his basic schooling, earning himself a spot on the marine research team as soon as word of his dedication reached their ears. He spent the next eight years studying botany and contributing to the research group his father was once part of, driven by his ambition and desire to learn.

After earning his degree and truly making a name for himself, he began working with his father in studying the tropical plant life near the settlement he lived in, learning to work closely with the other scientists present. His involvement in the project eventually landed him in an interview with a recruiter from the Maseydo Corporation, the company that has been working on the secretive Eden Project. His outstanding academics and dedication to his work made him a prime candidate, and he was flown to the base five months later.

He's been working diligently ever since he became a part of the team, doing as much as he can to help the cause. Communication is difficult for him, however, since he is mute. A genius botanist such as himself would be crucial to the efforts, so the crafty team of thinkers devised ways to work around his muteness. By using chat servers for long distance communication and the text-to-speech device he wears on his wrist, he is able to relay information quickly and reliably to his fellow scientists.

Of course, this leaves little in the way of casual, friendly conversation, often making him feel isolated and lonely. His free time is mostly spent by himself, scribbling in his personal journal as he reflects on the day and his findings. He also is quite the painter, though he is only limited to pencil sketches due to the lack of resources. Most of his art consists of flora, but there are occasional scenic shots that remind him of his hometown back on Earth.

His quiet attitude is picked up on by the current team leader, Doctor Portia Anderson, who makes an active effort to engage him and make him feel more at home, though she feels as though she's not making much headway. The young feline eventually manages to forge a bond with one of the two mechanics on the ship. Eliot, being one of the only two on the ship to be designated to repairing various tech and ensuring its proper function, grows rather fond of Jack and they both help one another open up to the rest of the crew, growing their bonds and helping the team work better as a whole.
