#4 of ~Two of a Kind~

We continued to snake our way through the maze of sewer tunnels for about 45minutes before stopping a ladder leading upwards.

"here" I motioned upwards to the ladder. "you go first, ill meet you up there. don't worry there isn't any traffic near"

"k" was all he said before heading up the ladder and out the manhole, which he had a bit of trouble getting the lid off.

I let out a sigh as I felt my body change back everything to its human form, the last to finish changing was my left hand. I watch as it changed back. It was always weird to watch the change in the mirror or like this, the hair and claws receded back into my skin and the bones seemed to pop back shortening the length of my hand. After it was all over with I slipped on my pants and shirt, I didn't care to put on my shoes so I carried them up the ladder.

"is that where your dad works?" Caleb asked pointing to a large building in front of us.

"yea. He's in there." I replied walking towards the door, it was a 3 story high building so if all else fails we could just jump.

"so what is this? What does your dad do for a living?" Caleb asked as he looked around at the lobby.

"you didn't read the huge sign outside on the building?" I replied with a sarcastic worried look on my face. "it's a courthouse, my father is a judge."

"oh, I didn't even see the sign" he said as I felt Caleb grab my ears. "why'd ya change Fido?"

"well I cant exactly waltz into a courthouse covered in fur now can I?"

"she is" he replied taking his hands off my ears and pointing to a woman who was wearing a fur coat, as we both began to laugh a bit, before he got serious again. "any tips on how to make a good impression?"

"Don't look him in the eyes, and don't do anything stupid." I said back to him as we entered an elevator and I clicked on the 3rd floor button.

"got it."

We quickly rose to the top floor and exited the elevator and headed down to the end of the hall. I knocked on the 3rd door to the left, and heard a fathers deep voice coming from the other side.

"come in." he said as I opened the door and motioned for Caleb to keep a distance.

"Yo pops, what's up?" I said with a cheeky grin, Caleb was hesitant, but soon came in, making sure to stay a few feet behind me.

"hmm, so you disobey me and expect it all to be ok, do you?" he had never taken his eyes from his paper work but I knew he was only thinking of Caleb. There was a long pause before he spoke again. "leave now." he commanded.

I turned around stiffly, my whole body was shaking and he knew it, I hated this, I was glad to be let off so easy right now, but I still had a bad feeling about it all, he was never this lenient.

"what now?" Caleb whispered to me, as he started to turn back and walk towards the hallway.

"not you!" father commanded towards Caleb, he still hadn't taken his eyes off his papers. This was bad.

"y-yes sir." Caleb stammered before walking past me, as I left the room. After that Caleb shut the door.

"crap." was all I could say and think. I knew whatever father did, I could handle, but Caleb was a different story.

I let out a deep breath, no point in being all worked up. Blake had seemed pretty serious, but for what reason?

"why so scared?" he asked in a mild tone.

"I'm not." but in truth I was. My heart was pounding and my whole body seemed to be on edge, something about him just seemed dangerous. The man was probably about 6'2" and looked well in shape with broad shoulders, he had solid black hair a lot like Blake's, I didn't know how old he was, he looked to be 25 or so, but Blake was 18, so he had to be older then that.

"I can hear you heart beating, and you smell like fear." he had stopped messing around with his papers. "its no point lying to me."

I couldn't think of anything to say, or how to respond, could he really hear my heartbeat? Could he really smell fear? Something blurred in front of me, before I had realized it, the man was standing inches away from me, his eyes starring right in mine, he had black eyes, not a really dark brown or anything, this was a solid black. wasn't I not supposed to look into his eyes? I couldn't remember, and I couldn't stop, I couldn't so much as blink or breathe, my whole body was numb. What was he doing. I couldn't feel or think. Suddenly everything was dark.

"well at least he didn't kill him." a female voice spoke out.

"he defiantly tried." a familiar voice said.

"man, your so stupid Blake, this is all your fault."

My head finally started working properly, it was Blake's voice I heard, but who was the other girl with us. I tried opening my eyes before shutting them when I realized the light shot massive pains through my head. So I tried speaking instead.

"where am I?"

"your at my place, do you remember happened?" Blake had asked.

"don't push him, it'll only make things worse." replied the girl.

"Blake, wh-what happened?" I managed to get out, afterwards letting out a loud groan as more pain shot through my head, I moved my right arm to hold my head, but soon regretted it as sharp pains shot through it. I let out a mild yell.

"you shouldn't move." said the girl. I tried to open my eyes again, this time more slowly and let the light fill my head with pain, I pushed past it and looked around, everything was real blurry but my eyes soon adjusted. Blake was sitting a few feet away on a chair, and the girl I had hear was sitting next to me on a the bed, looking over my body from what I could see she had light blonde hair, almost white, and ice blue eyes, I couldn't tell but she seemed real small, like a child.

"what happened to me?" I asked again "god, why does my head hurt and arms hurt so bad?"

"what's the last thing you remember?" the female asked. "Blake go get em' some asprin."

"k whatever." he replied and walked out of the room.

"well I remember being in the sewers, and Blake turned into a dog, or werewolf, whatever it was, and then we went into a building to see Blake's dad." I paused to think for a second. "what happened to me?"

"hmm, well I don't exactly know, from what I can tell Marcus got pissed and is taking it out on you." she stopped as the door opened and Blake tossed a bottle of asprin on the bed.

"here Jenn, I'm going go see when dinners going to be ready." he called out as he left the room again.

"you shouldn't move to much, your arm was broken in 3 places" she motioned towards my right arm, which was swollen really bad. "what in the world did you do to get him so peeved though?"

"I don't know."

"well I'll leave you alone." she stood and began walking to the door. "you need some rest, why don't you sleep. By the way, I'm Jenn."

"ok, I'm Caleb." As soon as the door was shut I closed my eyes and began wandering off throughout my mind. It was a lot to comprehend, why was I acting like nothing was wrong, why does Blake's father hate me enough to kill me, how am I going to explain all of this to mother, what will she think? I couldn't sleep, I didn't really want to, my body hurt a lot, I was still confused, and didn't think I was ever going to get a straight answer. "what a pain." I said aloud as I tried to calm my mind and sleep.

"your so stupid, I swear you never think things through." jenn said sitting beside me at the dinning table, I tried my best to ignore her. "what were you thinking? Why in the world do you feel the need to go against everything your father says?"

"I had no other choice."

"what do you mean ‘no other choice' you always have a choice."

"he was dying, and I chose to save him." it got quiet for a few seconds.

"Jenn, why don't you go get dinner started. There's no need for you to sit here and complain." said a woman's voice from behind me, it was Anita.

"fine whatever." Jenn pranced off into the kitchen.

"seems he's a lot of trouble" Anita came and sat where Jenn was. Anita was about 5'5" with dark brown hair and brown eyes, she had a slender build but I knew she was stronger then her body let on "why go through all of this, why not just let him die?"

"I don't know, it just felt like I had to." I took a pause before looking into her eyes. "your not jealous are you?" I gave a smug grin.

"right." she scratched under my chin. "are you jealous?"

"of what?" I asked with a bit of annoyance in my voice, as she got up and walked towards the stairs chuckling a bit.

"you better hide him before your daddy comes home." she stopped and looked back at me. "you know he's pretty pissed at you, and he's taking it out on him, if he gets the chance before calming down. He'll kill him."

"whatever." I said still a little confused and peeved at what she had said about me being jealous.

"well, hurry and have dinner done. I'm hungry and tired of waiting." I regretted saying after feeling a smooth fist land right across my jaw, sending me to the floor.

"we're not your personal maids" she said standing over me, god she looked scary like this.

"I was going to say please" I said standing up and giving a goofy smile. "no need to get rough on me, unless you like it ro..." I was cut off with another punch to the face, this time it was followed by another to my gut.

"I think you should keep you mouth shut." she said walking off into the kitchen to help jenn.

"ok, I get it." I wheezed and started heading towards my room to check on Caleb. After entering, I found no one in the room. "Caleb, where'd ya go?" I didn't hear an answer, I relaxed a bit and took a whiff of the air, guess the moron went somewhere, but where? I looked around before noticing that the window was open. I crawled out of the room and stepped into the soft green grass, and started to follow Caleb's scent. After a few seconds of walking I found him sitting by a tree. I watched him for a second and decided to leave him be, and started to go back inside before picking up a familiar scent flow through the air. "shit." I whispered under my breathe and ran back to where Caleb was sitting.

"hey Blake. Sorry I didn't give warning about leaving or anything its just I didn't want to bother anyone."

"don't worry about that, if you ever need anything just ask." I said before getting back to the matter at hand. "father's almost home, I think we should get out of here for the time being."

What happened next completely caught me off guard.

"I see." he replied sitting still. "I was getting a bit tired of waiting."

"what are you doing?" I exclaimed rushing in front of him. "father is really, really pissed off right now, I don't think you should stay here.."

"its ok, last time he caught me off guard, no worries." I could smell father's scent getting closer.

"listen." I paused, he looked determined, but I could hear his heartbeat grow faster and smell the adrenaline flowing through his body, he was scared. Just like in the sewers. "ok, no worries."

Caleb got up and we both started back at the house. I'm sorry, I thought to myself as I lunged my fist forward hitting Caleb right in the back of the head, he started to fall to the ground before I caught him and started to head to the house meeting Anita in the living room.

"fathers about 6 miles away, so take Caleb to Anthony's and meet back here." I said handing Caleb to Anita. "oh, and he's got a concussion."

"yea, yea, you owe me one." she said before running out the door.

I heard a sizzling sound echo throughout my head, and a delicious smell flood my nose, making me drool a bit, I woke up and opened my eyes to see that my location had yet again changed.

"man, and I didn't even get to see the last house." I whined to myself before slowly dragging myself out of the bed, I looked around for a few moments taking in the knew scenery. It was a small room with round wooden walls, that made it look like the thing had been put together with lincon logs, very poorly I might add. The room was relatively empty besides the bed, chair, and the lantern that sat in the room. This place was as simple as it got, there wasn't even a door, just an opening to the, what seemed like, the living room. I sat back down on the bed after feeling my head get really light. I was turning out to be the most accident prone person in the world right now, I had been shot, bitten by a werewolf, had my arm snapped in 3, and now I was at some new cabin looking place, with a blazing head-ache. The room started to spin, and I felt really sick to my stomach, without warning it felt like room had flipped, sending me falling forward off the bed, crashing with a loud thud. Oh god please let me pass out again.

"are you ok." said a deep voice, I felt footsteps coming closer. A big hand ran up my shirt and on my back. "your running a high fever." he seemed annoyed.

"no worries." I managed to mumble out.

"here, get back in bed and stay there." he commanded as he picked me up, as he did I opened my eyes enough to peer through them, details were still a bit blurry but I managed to make out a few things, he was big, and very built. He had broad shoulders and stood about 6'5", with light brown hair that was cut somewhere in between short and medium, and it seemed like he hadn't shaved in a few days, but regardless of the way he looked he was extremely gentle, a lot more then Blake had been, I hadn't even noticed it but I was already laying on the bed. I felt a cool rag touch my head, and a few drops slid down into my eyes making me close them again.

"Caleb" was all I could manage to mumble out before passing out again. If they had a record for most pass outs in a week, I would definitely accomplish it with ease.

My head started hurting, but not the throbbing head rushing head-aches, no, this was different. My head was getting to cold. I lifted my unhurt arm towards my head feeling the cold cloth on my head, but my hand also met something else, something warm, It was another hand, it was bigger then my own, it was the man from earlier I presumed, his hand quickly jerked back and I took the cloth off my head.

"god that thing is cold." I grumbled. I didn't feel like opening my eyes this time. "where am I now?"

"your at my place, Blake had asked me to watch over you for a while, till things cool over with Markus." his hand went back under my shirt and placed it on my stomach, making me jump a bit. "your fever is gone, but you should get some rest." he started to leave before I reached out blindly and grabbed a piece of clothing.

"thank you, but please stay, I'm still really confused with all of this, and you seemed like you might know something." my voice was more awake now, and I had started to open my eyes again only to see that I was holding on to the man's boxers. I quickly let go, getting a bit defensive. "sorry, its just, I didn't see or anything and I, and your were there, and the bed was only this high." oh yea, I was awake now. And what a way to wake up.

"what is it you wanted to ask?" he asked me as he sat down sloppily, he was annoyed again. Man do I have a way with people or what?

"well, its just, what's going on?" I paused for a second. "I know its not very pacific, but I..."

"Blake, and the people that live in with him are all werewolves, their a misfit pack of werewolves." he said before I could complete my sentence. "If your hungry the food is in the kitchen."

"and what about you, where will you be?" I asked as he got up.

"asleep." he said pulling his shirt off as he slid the chair out of the way with his leg, and laid it on the ground as a make-shift pillow and laid down on the floor. I was right about him being built, his pecs were well defined as well as his abs, it wasn't the deformed bulgy kind of built you normally see, his muscles seemed to be perfectly chiseled, and made for him, he had a bit of hair, running from his chest to his stomach, and further down from what I could see. He plopped himself on the ground and closed his eyes.

"uh. Hey, I'm not tired or anything so, why don't you sleep up here and ill go eat and stuff." All I got in response was light muffled groan before he got up and laid in the bed beside me.

I slid out of the bed and went through the doorway.
