May 2-3: Getting ready for playoffs...I think.

The season was over. We nailed it with the last few games. I realized that my minutes were going to go straight to Josh or someone else, but I was cool with it now. We are the number one team in the east for a damn reason and we are going to make sure the whole league knows why. That's all that mattered. Besides, Josh was a good player. I say let him have it. I'll be sure to be the energy boost whenever I come off the bench. Practice was a little bit more of the coaches talking and working with us individually. Me and Josh were working with coach Wei. He wanted us to work on jump shots. It was supposed to be a drill, but me and Josh always make it a competition. We talked before the drill.

"So, what's the number this time?" I asked.

"I dunno." He said. "I picked the last time."

"You lookin' pretty tired though. You don't look like you could get passed ten shots."

Josh then looked at me with a determined put friendly look on his face.

"Alright!" Said Wei. "What will it be?"

"Twenty." I said.

"Thirty." Josh answered back.

"Thats more like it fluff ball." I said.

"Thirty it is." Said Wei. Josh on the left side and Tex on the right side. First to thirty wins."

Coach passed us both the ball and two trainers were there to get rebounds. I looked at Josh one last time and said:

"Good luck."

Then Wei blow his whistle and we both started off. I was on a roll to start 1, 2, 3, then 4. Josh was on my tail though. Soon, I got to ten and he was at 8.

"Got it. I got this Josh!" I said.

"Yea, for now." He answered back.

We kept going. I had 15 and Josh got to 14.

"I'm catching up." He said.

"Keep telling yourself that." I said.

We were then tied at 25. I was getting in a funk and I couldn't get on a roll again. Josh was starting to beat me. I still couldn't get one in. 28, 29, then Josh got 30.

"Bam, That's how it's done!" He said.

We then met on the foul line, breathing a little hard, but still good.

"Got nothing to say now?" He said.

I shoved his arm a little and said. "Luck."

"Alright." Said Wei. "That's it for today. Lets go watch some film."

"Yes coach." Me and Josh both said.

Sunday morning came and I woke up in my apartment at like...early.....it was just early. The team media crew wanted some interviews done and I got Josh to drive to the practice facility. I was just packing up and getting ready. I brushed my fur a little and tried to make myself look nice for the camera. I think I did good enough. My tail was fluffed enough, my hair nice and neat, yea, good enough. I heard honking outside and quickly grabbed my bags and went to the elevator. I'm pretty sure the other people in my building don't mind a Huntsville Mayor living upstairs. Maybe when I come back here with a championship trophy I'll get some attention. Any ways, I got to Josh's car and knocked on the window. He rolled down the window and said.

"Can I help you stranger?"

I laughed and said. "Open the damn trunk."

He finally opened the trunk of his truck and I threw my stuff inside. I sat in the passenger seat and closed my eyes a little.

"Tired?" Asked Josh.

"No" I said. "Just...glad to be here....in the morning....going to interviews......then practice."

"You're excited for practice?...." John asked.

"Don't look too much into it. I'm trying to be...positive."

"Whatever drama queen."

I laughed a little and kept my eyes closed for a bit. Josh started the car and we drove off.

Once we made it to the place, Josh nudged me on my arm. I wouldn't wake up. He nudged me harder.

"Tex." He said. "We're here, come on."

I moaned and said. "No ahora, sólo dame un minuto más"

"Uh, I'm not sure what that means."

Finally, I opened my eyes and opened the door.

"Never mind. Lets go." I said.

We got all our stuff and started our trek to the upper level locker rooms.

"You need to work on your portuguese, you know that?" I said to Josh. He just laughed and changed the subject.

"You know, Wendy is starting to tweet again." He said.

"Oh god." I said. "She's not getting in trouble again is she?"

"I don't think so. She seems pretty calm so far."

"Well, you never know when Wendy is tweeting."

"What about my tweets?" Said Wendy as she was standing RIGHT FREAKIN' BEHIND US. We both froze. I thought of something quickly and turned around to face her.

"Hey Wendy!" I said way too loud. "Nice to see you. Aren't you excited? The playoffs! We made it! Yea!"

I then went straight to her and hugged her. Then I froze. It then occurred to me that maybe I took this too far. Wendy didn't hug back, how surprising. She just pushed me aside and said:

"Lets just get these stupid interviews done." She said. Then she went on her way.

I looked at Josh with a worried look and he looked at me with a very confused scare.

"You...hugged her?" He said.

"Yea...too far?" I asked.

"You are a strange one Tex." He answered back. Then he smirked as we continued to the elevator.

Once we put our stuff away, I was called over to the top floor to do the interview. They wanted me in uniform so I put it on when I got there, but, as usual, the make up crew didn't like how my hair was. So I had to deal with that for about a half hour, but I was looking nice. Soon, I walked over to the film room. There were lights and cameras all pointing to two chairs with a Huntsville Mayor logo in the background.

"Oh, Cloricia." Said Brian. Brian was like the team's spokes person. The wolf even commentated some games. "Please, take a seat. We can get started real soon."

"Okay, sure." I said.

I sat down and patiently waited. My tail wagging as I just looked around. Then Brian came back to sit next to me.

"I'm the first one." I asked.

"Nope, we talked with T-Balt before you."

"Oh, alright."

"Ready?"

"Yep." I said.

Then cameraman counted down and Brian began.

"Hey there Mayors fans, This is Brian Shaw here with the latest on Mayors-nation. I am here with...number 3...Cloricia Tex Teixeira. How are you doing?"

"Hey there Mayors fans. I'm good Brian, glad to be here."

"Alright. So, you have quite a story since the team picked you up from the D-league."

"Yea, I'm just glad the Mayors gave me this opportunity and playing for the team has been great."

"I bet it has. I mean, the best record in the east and heading to the playoffs. How do you feel about that?"

"Oh, this season has been really great for us. We just really, like, clicked and learned to play with each other."

"Another bright spot for you this season is that you led the team this year in the most steals in a game."

"Yea, well, I've been working with the coaching staff a lot on defense. With Wei and Howard and....they have taught me a lot this season and I'm glad that I utilized it in my game. And when you practice guarding Wendy Brown every practice then....well.....you learn how to play tough defense."

We both laughed.

"Yea, I bet." He said. "So, you're feeling good about the team in the playoffs?"

"Of course, why wouldn't I be? We practice hard, we play hard, and I know that when we are focused on the game, nothing can stop us."

"That's some great determination. So, you get along with all your teammates?"

"Yep, everyone."

"Even your old college teammate, Josh Green?"

"Oh, definitely. I knew that we would play great together on this team and I love playing with him."

"Well, it must be easy to play with someone that you're dating."

"Oh yea, We just know how to...." I paused, then looked at Brian in shock. "Wait, what did you say?"

"It must be easy to play with someone that you're dating."

"Wait....me and Josh?"

"Well, you two do play very well together."

"Yea....But....."

"And you two are seen together most of the time when you're off the court. There are numerous videos and pictures of you two eating out together."

"Yea, but....we do go to restaurants a lot.....but still...."

"I mean, It does seem that wherever you are, he's there with you."

I was speechless. I just sat there staring at the floor in awe. Am I secretly dating Josh? Does Josh think we're dating? Are we dating?

"Well." Said Brian. "I think thats all the time we have, thanks again for joining us Cloricia. This is Brian Shaw, signing off. Go Mayors!"

The cameras went down and the lights dimmed down.

"Wait!" I said. "Are we done?" I asked

"Yes, we are." Said Brian. "You okay?"

"You can't show that last question. Please!"

Brain laughed. "I don't know. I think the Mayors fans will really like this."

"No! Please! Look, Josh and I are not dating, we're just....just.....good friends."

"Yea.....sure."

"Come on Brian. It's playoff time. I can't deal with this on my plate now. Please?"

Brain sighed and said. "Alright fine. We'll keep this secret."

"And don't tell Josh."

"Fine, we won't."

"Thank you so much."

I shuck his hand, but then he said.

"You know, for just being good friends, you seemed pretty comfortable for the first few seconds about you and Josh dating."

I was going to say something back, but I realized that it would just make things worse.

"I gotta go to practice." I said. Then I quickly left the room.
