Authors note: I would like to make a small correction considering Tarhknal, it seems i may have "overestimated" his wing span a little. And i would just like to take a moment to say that it has been reduced to fourteen feet, not twenty-four. I do realize that it is a bit overoptimistic (trust me, i measured it out LOL) Thats all, so enjoy. OH AND PLEASE COMMENT OR RATE!

P.S. Thanks to "Reptilecynrik" for giving me such good words, and ways to improve. Much love man!

Also, please comment! its getting on my golden scaly ass! People wont comment! WHY? I need feedback, and ideas.

Chapter 2- The truth is revealed....

When they finally arrived at the site of the crash Tarhknal noticed something was amiss, the fact being there was no crash site, Just a large meadow. He looked around, hoping to catch a glimpse of the ship somewhere else but to no avail. He turned to face Silvan, only to find nobody standing behind him. He was panicking a little now and decided to shout for her.

"Silver! Where are you, come on now! This ain't funny!" He got no reply, instead he heard something that sounded like a radio crackling and turned to face it.

"Okay, now i know we didn't bring a radio with us, who's in there!?" He bellowed at the tree line. Again, he got no reply, it was starting to creep him out a little but he stayed on full alert. And rightfully so, as just as he was turning around he heard something in the trees, and he what it was. Someone was in there, he could tell because of his implants, one of them to be precise, his hearing has been augmented so that he could hear a pin drop at a hoedown (quite literally), but what he was hearing was not a pin, no, it was very distinct radio chatter, and from what he could hear, it wasn't good.

"I think he knows we're here, what do you think?" The first voice asked.

"dunno! Think we should go in now?" The second replied.

"Actually, yeah! Right, on my signal, fire the flare at him. That should make his eyes water a bit, then we can take him out."

"Right! Hang on while i load the flare gun...........got it, ok, im ready!" There was a brief pause before he gave the order.

"NOW!"

There was a blast, and a large puff off smoke from the trees, Tarhknal didn't move a muscle. "They have obviously underestimated me." He thought to himself as he stood in the bright nova of the flare, he could still see as clearly as day, and knew that they couldn't.

It gave him quite a shock to see, however, that when his assailants burst out of the shrubbery that they were no dragons, but instead a pair of ODST human marines. He was flabbergasted at this but he knew that they didn't want to play nice, mainly because they were firing at him with assault rifles. He acted quickly and precisely, as soon as the first marine came within his grasp he swung his leg into a ferocious roundhouse kick and knocked the marine to the floor with a satisfying "THUD." He couldn't help think how much doing that reminded him of a twenty-first century superstar who went by the name of "Huck Morris" or something like that, he lost his focus for a second but that was easily enough for the remaining marine to jump onto his back and wrap his rifle around Tarhknals throat. He didn't worry in the slightest though, all he had to do was grab the marine by the helmet and gave it a good yank, and he flew to the floor about ten meters away and landed with a groan of pain.

He walked up to the groaning marine and picked him up with one hand, looking straight at his face.

"What in the hell do you think you are doing marine?! Do you know who i am?"

He replied, but with some difficulty due to the broken bone he suffered when he hit the ground. "You have n-no ideaaaargh!" He screamed in pain as Tarhknal adjusted his grip, "Of what going to happen, w-w-well you'd better g-get ready for it!" The marine started to laugh at Tarhknal and continued.

"Sweet dreams, bitch!" Tarhknal barely had time to turn when he was hit in the back of the head with such force, it felt as though he had been punched by a ten tonne weight. The world started to spin and and everything fizzled to black. And he heard a hazy voice echoing throughout hi mind,

"Tarhknal, no!......."

He awoke several hours later, lying on the same bed he had found himself in before. He was trying to think why Silvan might have betrayed him, and why in the hell there were humans here! His thoughts were interrupted by a very concerned looking Rahlz jogging through the door halolding his medical supply's

"What in the hell happened out there. We found you half dead and lying face down in a ditch!" He asked Tarhknal, nearly shouting in his concerned state.

"Silvan happened! She double crossed me!" He angrily replied.

"Silvan? Tarhk, it couldn't have been! We found her bound and gagged in the closet over there! So it cant have been Silvan that was with you!" He added, looking very confused.

Tarhknal could barely comprehend what he had just heard, if that wasn't Silvan then who........... then it dawned on him, if there were humans on this planet then she could very well have been a flash clone, but it was highly unlikely, he consulted Rahlz.

"Hey, did you find the person that i was with then? I have an idea." He asked, still deep in though.

"Yes, we did, but that were i got confused, it seemed to be an exact copy of Silvan, in other words it was...."

"A clone! Then i was right. Rahlz, i wasn't attacked by any dragons, i was attacked by a pair of humans! There are humans on this planet, i don't know what they're doing here but im going to find out."

"Wait!?" Rahlz questioned, "you know of the humans?

At this point, Tarhknal was wondering if he had heard correctly, he already knew about them? How did he know?

"How long have you known about the humans being her? He growled.

"Tarhk, they've been her for years, about fifty actually, they attacked our planet with a hope of colonizing, we ought them off but we couldn't push them off the planet. So they set up facility's around the planet, making lighting attacks every now and again. Why?"

"Rahlz! I...they made me what i am now! I live with them for my entire life, i never knew of any hostile takeovers lead by human forces ever!"

Rahlz had sat down at the end of the bed, looking right into Tarhknals eyes, signaling for him to continue.

"Rahlz, i don't think my being her was an accident, i think the humans are planning.......to have me killed, have us all killed!"

"Well, what can we do?!" Rahlz inquired to him, leaning forward and resting his muzzle in his hands, thinking to himself.

"Theres nothing we can do, until i get mt equipment that is. I need you to take me to the crash site, the real one."

They arrived at the crash about a half hour later, much to the relief of the real Silvan, who looked quite out of breath after flying into a headwind for that long. The three of them circled the area just to make sure that they were alone and touched down about one hundred meters from the the downed craft. Rahlz consulting his PDA,

"Here we go! The humans make hourly sweeps of the area, we took half an hour getting here so that gives us half and hour till the next patrol." He said, his face not leaving the screen.

"With a twenty minute safe window..." Tarhknal added as he consulted the timer on his HUD. He had decided to bring his amour, just to be safe. HE had fitted most of it on the fly and was still adjusting the chest as they walked to the still smoldering wreckage. ".....so i thinks its best that we hurry this up."

"Agreed, come on!" Rahlz said without a moments hesitation.

Silvan was the first to the craft, she looked inside before turning on her flashlight and going in, Tarhknal and Rahlz were close behind.

"Okay! There are some weapon cabinets over there, Rahlz you handle them. If they dont open when you go near them, punch in the code i told you, you remember the code?"

"Yeah i remember, ill get to work." Rahlz retreated round the computer core and started pushing buttons.

"Silvan, you come with me! I'm going to need help with this." He pointed to a set of large cabinets on the floor.

"Right, whats in these then, Mm?"

"you'll see soon enough!" He laughed.

"Oh come on, gimme a clue. Please?" She pleaded with mock sadness. She poked his arm repeatedly until she got her desired response.

"alright! Yikes! Ill give you a clue! Lets just say.....its something highly experimental, and uses amplified light. See if you can figure it out." He gave her a sly grin and giggled, She simply stuck ot her tongue and laughed back at him.

"Its some sort of laser isn't it? She asked bluntly fixing her gaze with his.

"Yep, now if i can just get this....damn....thing...open......AH! SON OF A BITCH!" He shouted in pain ad the lock panel short circuited and gave him an electric shock that made his hand recoil at tremendous pace.

"you ok?" She asked him as she took his hand and examined it.

"I'm fine yeah, thanks." He smiled at her, she smiled back before speaking.

"Aww, want me to kiss it better?" She asked, trying her best to sound cute. While giving him a sly and seductive grin.

"Mm, would you please, it weally huwts!" He added, pouting his lip, and playing along.

She did not answer him, but instead brought his hand to her lips and pressed it against them, it was warm, pleasing, it didn't really help the pain but it didn't matter to him. She started to move up his arm with kisses, causing him to flinch slightly whenever she passed over the scars. She continued up his arm until she reached his neck, were she let her tongue slip out of her muzzle and licked up the length until she reached his lips with hers and locked them together. They both murred deeply as they kissed each other passionately until Tarhknal broke the kiss with some disappointment and spoke.

"Y'know, i normally wouldn't object to this but right now, we have a schedule to keep. So....."

"Okay, it can wait." She said before she kissed him once more and looked down at the fallen cabinet.

So, how are we going to get in to it? It looks pretty solid." She sighed and looked at him.

"Easy! I would stand back a little if i were you." He said with a smile. She took a few paces back and watched as He took hold of the inset handle with one hand and held the cabinet down with the other. He looked at her with raised eye ridges and gave the handle a firm, sharp pull. There was a bang and a bit of smoke as the locking mechanism was ripped to bits and the door came off its hinges.

"There we are!" He smiled as he threw the door with quite a bit of force to the far end of the cockpit.

"Now that was impressive, well done!" She giggled and walked over to the now open cabinet and eyed its contents.

"ooooh!, those look yummy! What are those?" She asked with a bemused look across her face.

"These? These are an experimental weapon being built by the humans, they were designed to be used by SPARTAN's like myself. There called spartan lasers, yeah i know its quite the obvious name but These things can punch a hole clean through fifty inches of grade-A titanium, so be careful when your moving them, you grab two and ill grab two. They picked up the lasers and went outside to find Rahlz with the weapons and ammunition.

"Tarhknal, there you are! This was everything i could find that worked. What are those?" He signaled to the lasers in his arms.

"Oh! These? Ill let Silver explain while i check what you found. Go on Silver." He put down the lasers as Silvan started explaining to Rahlz what they were. He had just started to check the weapons they had when he notice something about one of the shotguns that Rahlz had picked up, it was bent through ninety degrees at the middle! He chuckled to himself before standing up and addressing the others.

"Hey, check this out!" he shouted at them as he laughed inwardly while holding up the shotgun. Both Rahlz and Silvan burst into laughter at the sight of the mangled weapon and at the expression on Tarhk's face.

"Rahlz? What the hell did you pick that up for." He laughed.

"Never mind!" he added before the white dragon had time to answer. He had been interrupted by a flicker on his motion tracker, the patrol had arrived early!

"Shit! Grab the stuff and get a move on, come on! They're here!" He said hurriedly as he loaded the lasers and some ammo boxes around his shoulders. But it was too late, the dropship had already seen them and had touched down right in front of them, cutting off there escape. The rear hatch open and a squad of marines poured out, they didn't hesitate to bring down Rahlz with tazers, caused him hi to fall into a crumpled lump on the grass. They did the same with Silvan, but took her into the back pf the dropship.

"Get your hand off of aaaaah!" he tried to help her but found himself being shot with the tazers himself. It took him a moment to realize that a familiar figure had made its way out of the hovering dropship, the commander!

"YOU BASTARD!" He screamed as loud as his vocal cords would allow him to.

"I knew you'd be involved with is! What the hell are you thinking, attacking an innocent world.....my world!" Tarhknal growled, his primal instincts filling him with rage.

"Don't you get it captain? We needed you! For the protection of humanity and earth, we knew your kind would not take kindly to us taking you so we got hostile. You have to understand that we did this for you." The commander explained.

"No! You did this for yourself, you knew the funding you would get for this would be huge, you did it for the money, bit you got carried away, started attacking the inhabitants for no reasonable cause, driving them for there homes.....well no more! You here! NO MORE!." Tarhknals rage had consumed him, he grabbed the two marines holding him down, pulled them from behind him and slammed them into the ground. He stood up and hooked a rifle with his tail and brought it to his hands, cocked it and pointed it at the commander.

"I'd suggest that you get out of here commander, ill give you ten seconds.

The commander turned and walked to the dropship without a hint of fear as he climbed onto the back end.

"Oh! And commander? I wouldn't get to smug with yourself, your plan won't last." He raised the rifle and fired a single shot, it found its mark and went straight through the commanders knee, making him fall backwards into the dropship as it took off.

"Hope it hurt!" He said under his breath as he turned to see Rahlz struggling to his feet. Tarhknal took his hand to help him get his balance, and looked at him with a look that Rahlz understood immediately.

"They took her, didn't they?" he asked grimly. Tarhk did not reply, he grabbed the salvaged equipment and flicked his head to tell Rahlz that they were leaving. He remained silent for the entire flight back.

It had been three hours since Silvan had been taken, and Tarhknal was standing atop a hill behind Rahlz's cabin. Contemplating what he should do, should he stay? Should he leave and live with the thought that he was indirectly responsible for the death of someone he loved? He couldn't help but think that it was his fault, he had failed her, he didn't deserve her! He fell to his knee's and let a tear trickle from his eye. He turned round at the sound of someone walking behind him, it was Rahlz. He came up to Tarhk and stopped at his right side, looking straight ahead at the night.

"Tarhknal, do not blame yourself for this, there was no way you could have foreseen this." He said softly. He didn't respond, instead he just looked up at him with an empty expression on his face,

"Listen, She loves you, and you love her. I can see it in your eyes when you look at her, don't say your just going to give her up because of one little mistake are you?"

"I don't know, i just don't know. Maybe i should, maybe i sh-" He was cut off by Rahlz placing his hand on his shoulder and kneeling down beside him.

"No! You're going to go and get her, and your going to show the humans the error of there ways. Tarhknal, i never thought i would tell you like this but I've known you for longer than you know.

"What do mean?" Tarhknal asked barely interested.

"Listen, when the humans first attacked this palnet, my village was one of the first to be hit. Now on that day, i lost someone very dear to me indeed, here." He handed Tarhknal as small folded piece of paper, he opened it and found it to be a photograph of of Rahlz and his family. Only something caught his eye, a dragon, standing with his arm around what he assumed to be a very young Rahlz. He was blood red, stood about the same height as rahlz and had the same plated scales on his chest than Tarhkna........

"No! It c-can't be! No! Thats.....me!" He stuttered, barely believing his eyes.

"Yes, Tarhknal, im your brother!" There was an awkward silence between them while Tarhknal though it through. He was having flashes in his mind, memories that had lain dormant in his mind for years. His parents, his friendships and.......his brother! Tarhknal just looked in stupor at Rahlz for a moment before finally speaking after what seemed like forever.

"I remember now, they had my memories wiped so i wouldn't turn against them, so i wouldn't know what they had.......they kill our family didn't they?" His features dropped as he said this.

"Yes, were all thats left, brother." He pulled Tarhknal into a deep hug, he felt Tarhknal shudder slightly as he started to cry and then broke away.

"Rahlz, i have to go now." He told his newly found bretherin, still fighting back tears.

"Were are you going?" he asked as Tarhknal got up and started walking away. He stopped and spun his head round to his brother.

"To war!"
