It was the last day of school. Well, no. School had been out for about half a week now, but all the kids were still packing up for home.

Ted and Daniel won't last over the summer, mostly because Daniel's grandpa is going back into Theorium Industries for some reason, and Daniel doesn't have a cell phone, nor does he live near Amberstone City. Or so the unusual telephone line told us. Daniel told Garrick in weight training, who told Zane, who told the twins in his science class, who spread the word to Rick and X in english, and ended up telling us just before Ted and Daniel got back to formally announce that Daniel had to move over the summer.

I also got another color to my pentagrams. Before it was just red, blue, and green, but now I had a strip of magenta in between the blue and red. It added a weird effect to the patterns, and made them all look semi three dimensional. It also started moving. Seriously, the pentagrams turn very, very, slowly. It's really mesmorizing to see my face moving like that in the mirror.

I was helping Alex pack up when he walked in the front door to the dorm. It took me a second to realize that it was his dad, mostly because they looked almost exactly the same, except Alex was shorter. Noticably. I quickly gave Alex one last hug before his dad walked into his room.

"Hey, Alex! I... I missed you."

"I... I missed you too."

"Well, let's finish up what you've got here, and start loading it out into the car."

"Okay..."

Alex's dad slowly recognized me. "Hey, wait a minute. You're the kid at the start of the year who had all those pentagrams."

"Dad!" [Alex]

"No, it's okay. Yeah, but apparently there's some sort of genetic thing, and I'm probably gonna get more colors and stuff in it." [Me]

"Oh. Maybe one of 'em would be a cross." [Alex's Dad]

"The pentagrams were pretty bad, I'm just hoping it's not another religious symbol."

"Ah. So you aren't Christian."

"As an atheist I don't deny the existence of god, I simply believe there is no scientific evidence that he exists."

"You also allow there to be gays."

"Yup. Homophobia wasn't a thing until Christianity came along."

"Uhh... Seth?" [Alex]

"What?" [Me]

"Stop. Just, please don't get into a thing about this with my dad."

"No, I wanna hear his opinion." [Alex's dad]

"Uh, no. Nevermind. You need any help with anything?" [Me]

"Dear god no." [Alex]

"Hey! Don't use the lords name in vein." [Alex's dad]

"I'm out." I got up and left the room, and slowly watched as one by one, they took boxes out of Alex's room and out of the dorm. Ted and Daniel came out of their room, making out hardcore and trying to make the most of their relationship before it ended. Alex and his dad came back in for one last check in his room, and Alex left first, leaving his dad in here for a split second.

"I can't believe he had to live with that faggoty scum all year." He left the room, and we all glared at the door way where he'd just been. Alex has an asshole of a dad.

Then it sank in. Alex was gone. There was a good chance I would never see him again. A good chance I'd never get to hold his hand, or see his beautiful eyes or hear his welcoming voice. I'd never get to see his warm smile, or hold him in my arms, or feel his warm fur on my arms and his hot breath on my neck. I'd never even get to kiss him... I needed him. This wasn't going to be the end.

I went into his room, and glanced around for anything he left behind. Then I saw it. The golden pocket watch was still on his desk. I flipped it open and saw he'd stuffed a picture in it. It was from one of the rides at the park. It was us, holding hands, and screaming at the top of our lungs. He'd cut the picture so it fit...

I closed the watch and bolted out of the dorm, down the stairs, and out of the building. I had no idea where they were parked, but I had a gut feeling. I saw my dad, and bolted towards him, running right past him. He'd park in the same place as Alex's dad. I ran into him, and he must've realized that he forgot the watch.

"Oof! Hey- Oh. Hey!" [Alex]

"You... You forgot the watch..." I awkwardly handed it to him, and he took it.

"Uhh... Thanks... You know... I'm gonna be in Amberstone City, so I guess if we went to the same school, we could hang out together."

"I don't know... I just..."

"Just what?"

"I..." I couldn't find the words. Then I quickly remembered what I wanted to do. My mind raced, trying to find a super cheesy thing to say.

"What?" [Alex]

"... This." I leaned in and grabbed his shoulders, pulling him as close to me as I could. I kissed him right on the mouth, and I think he kissed back. He pulled away and looked straight into my eyes.

"Did... Did I do that right?" [Me]

"Who cares-" He began to lean in again, when he was suddenly ripped away from me, and standing in front of me was his dad. Oh. Right.

"You stupid quear! You went and tainted my son with your befouled sin and lust. You faggot... You're going to hell for this, and you-"

"What are you saying about my son?" I looked back over my shoulders, and saw my dad standing there.

"James? Well I should've known. The freakish apple doesn't fall too far from the freakish tree, I guess."

"The next time I hear you say something like that about my son, you won't be able to talk ever again."

"James, you're forgetting something. Your son's a fag."

"Really? As I recall, Alex didn't seem to mind-"

"And I don't!" He bolted form behind his dad and kissed me on the mouth again. I instantly wrapped my arms around him and held on as tight as I could. His dad tried pulling him away, but me and Alex bolted from him. We ran off into the main section of the school so we could double back and get back into the dorm. When we got there, Ted and Daniel were confused.

"No time to explain. Daniel, can you hold this door shut?" [Me]

"Uh... Yeah?" He got up and calmly went over to the door and leaned up against it. Ted jumped into his arms and they went back to making out. Me and Alex went into my room and slammed the door shut.

"What are we gonna do?" [Alex]

"Something big. Something that shows your dad you're gay."

"I could suck you off."

"No! Something appropriate, maybe?"

"I don't know... We could... Uhh-" There was suddenly a loud tapping on the window. We opened it and looked up. Rick, X, and the twins were on the roof.

"Hey, come on! Take my hand, we'll pull you up!" [X]

"I don't do too well with heights..." [Alex]

"Come on! Which would you rather be? Christian or with me?" [Me]

"Well when you put it that way-"

"Come on! They're coming!" [X]

"You first." [Me]

"Why me?!" [Alex]

"Because you're dad doesn't give a fuck about me! Go!"

"True." He opened the window as wide as he could, and started to climb out. In a minute, they awkwardly hauled him up onto the roof, and then they did the same for me.

"Okay, so... Now what?" [Alex]

"Now we take Alex, and you climb down the ladder." [Rick]

"Wait, what?!" [Me and Alex]

"Trust me, we have a plan." [Daniel]

"I doubt that." [Me]

"Okay, it's like twelve percent of a plan, but the rest is improv anyways, so move!" [David]

"You stole that from Gaurdians of the Galaxy." [X]

"What's Gaurdians of the Galaxy?" [Alex]

"Move!" [David and Daniel]

I bolted over to the ladder, and started climbing down it. I got to the bottom and saw our dads trying to break into our room.

"What are you doing?" [Me]

They both looked over at us, and were completely confused.

"Where's Alex?" [Alex's dad]

"Oh thank god." [Dad]

"Come on faggot, spill it!" I just stood still. I wouldn't speak. I wouldn't tell them. Then I saw the door creak open from behind, and Alex's dad was on the ground in a heart beat, with a zebra and his boyfriend making out on top of him.

"Get off me, you quear fags!"

"You got what you deserved." [Dad]

"Yeah, you really did." [Me]

I saw Ted's dad walk up into the fifth floor, and he just looked confused.

"Wait, since when have you been going out with this guy?" [Ted's dad]

"Your son's a faggot!" [Alex's dad]

"What."

"You heard me!"

"What did you just say about my boy?" Ted's dad knelt down and starred Alex's dad right in the eyes. There was some sort of Christian, psychic communication that went completely over my head, and Alex's dad just calmed down.

"So, who's this, Ted?"

"This is Daniel, but, he's gonna move, so-"

"What? I'm not moving. My parents are coming over seas to be here. They found out I was gay and was in a relationship and... they wanted to meet my boyfriend." [Daniel]

"So, now that someone got a happy ending, can we go get my boyfriend?" [Me]

"He's not your boyfriend." [Alex's dad]

"Who, Alex? Oh yeah, they're totally together. I don't know how you didn't know that, it's super obvious." [Ted's dad]

We all just starred at Ted's dad, "What? What'd I do wrong?"

"Nothing! You're still the best dad in the world. And now we have proof!" Ted tapped Alex's dad on the side, and he groaned. They got off him as Alex came out of the room, probably let back in through the window.

"You... I can't believe you'd rather be a fag than give your parents grandchildren." [Alex's dad]

"Actually, I wouldn't, but being gay's a lot more fun. There's more ways to do it."

"God, did you really have to say that?" [Ted]

"Just rubbing it in dad's face."

"You're grounded when you get to our new place." [Alex's dad]

"Why are you gonna ground Alex?" I saw another red fox walk in, and realized she was Alex's mom. Probably worried about why it was taking so long for them to check up whether or not anything was left.

"Sorry, but your son's gay." [Daniel]

"Alex isn't gay..."

"Umm... Mom, I kinda am." [Alex]

"Then why didn't you tell us?"

"Because I knew you guys would have a fit about it, and I was right!!"

"I don't care. It's your father who's ridiculous."

"You know how embarrassing it'd be to walk into my office on take your son to work day, and have to deal with his boyfriend?" [Alex's dad]

"See, he's the only one who cares!"

"Come on! What would the church say?!"

"They'd say that god loves everyone, no matter who they are."

Alex's dad grumbled a little bit and started off down the stairs.

"Hey, mom? Is it okay if I ride with Seth? I mean, you did say it was on Birch Street, didn't you?" [Alex]

"Sure thing! Just don't bug your father about it. He's a little mixed up from the Italian food."

"Okay, you can go now."

"Have fun with Seth!" She left down the stairs, and me and Alex bolted into the dorm and jumped onto my bed, cuddling and making out. After a few minutes, we actually started moving my stuff out into my dad's car, and it ended with us in the back seat cuddling. We went straight home, unpacked, and went into my still barren room and cuddled. Everything was as it was supposed to be, and I hoped it wouldn't ever change.

Of course, things would change. We were teenagers, after all. We'd probably end up going to different colleges, schools, and we'd slowly drift away from each other, but for the time being, we were closer than anything.
