First Love: Part 1

*Beep* *Beep* Beep*. "..Uhnnn..." Slowly coming into consciousness, a white and blue furred husky opens his deep blue eyes. "*Sigh*. Another day in the life..." The husky rises from his bed, stretching and giving a low, drawn out yawn. He looks around his simple bedroom: his bed; computer desk, cluttered with papers and notebooks; dresser with a small flat screen television sitting atop; a hamper overflowing with laundry needing to be done. Small, but quaint; acceptable for the simple husky. Not much of a choice when it comes to roominess when you live in a one-bedroom apartment.
Meet Jonathan. A 20-year-old husky; 6'0, dark brown hair, broad build, a little on the pudgy side; overall pretty average looking. Long, bushy tail compared to most huskies like himself; medium-sized, pointy ears with tufts of blue on the tips. Blue running down his back, wrapping around his face, ending at the top of his muzzle; a bright pink nose dotting the tip of of his mug.
Trudging to the only bathroom, Jon looks in the mirror, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He looks over himself, taking in his typical looks. Looking into his own eyes, he mentally prepares himself for the day. *I should try and get out of the house today, instead of just hanging around and being miserable.* With a heavy sigh, the husky begins his morning routine, freshening himself up for his; less-frequent now-a-days, it seems; day out. Within the hour, Jon is gathering his essential items to trek out into the world.
Double-checking to make sure his door is locked, the husky slowly begins his walk out onto the main street a few blocks away. *I heard there was a new drink place opening up close-by. I'm gonna check it out.* He continues his stroll to the new building, wondering what exactly this place is. Approaching the entrance, Jon glances up at a simple sign reading,"Tea Bar". *What a boring name. Guess it's ok; straight to the point. Opening one of the double-doors, the husky enters the "bar" in question.
The first thing Jon noticed, besides the modern aesthetic of the cafe, is how empty it seemed. Roughly ten to twelve other furs in total, including a rather cute fox sitting alone, seemingly doodling in a notebook. The husky blushed slightly, seeing the attractive vulpine blissfully scribbling away. He decides to sit at the table directly in front of the fox, why he did this exactly he didn't know.
Jon recently discovered that he was gay. Having never done anything with either sex, he was always unsure of what exactly he was attracted to. Eventually, after multiple "sessions" on the internet, he accepted it. Since then, he has been wanting to look for a relationship to be a part of. However, being pretty introverted and shy doesn't make that any easier. Seeing the adorable fox seated there started to stir a warm feeling in his chest a little bit.
"Sir? Sir!" "What!?" Jon was too distracted by the cute stranger to notice the cheetah waitress addressing him, trying to take his order for a drink. "Oh..sorry. What do you serve here?" "Well, incase the name wasn't enough of a hint, we serve many varieties of herbal tea." "Ok..um.... can I get a green tea, please?" "Sure thing!"
Once the cat walked back towards the front counter, the husky quickly returned his gaze to the vulpine, who studiously continued his drawing, a faint smile going across his muzzle. Jon's heartbeat started to increase in speed. The foxes red and white fur; long, pointy ears; bushy, vulpine tail that seemed softer looking than most; slender frame but not too much so. The huskies cheeks began to turn a faint shade of red. *He's looks so....perfect..*
Suddenly, the husky completely froze, the fox having glanced up from his art paper to catch the husky ogling at him. Their eyes met each others. Immediately, the husky became in the swirling emeralds that he possessed. He couldn't seem to look away from the beautiful jewels. The fox gave a friendly smile towards the dog, making Jon turn a deep crimson on his face. Quickly averting his gaze, Jon looked down at the table, twiddling his fingers on the table. *Oh no...did I stare at him too long?*
Jon's eyes twitched as he heard what sounded like a chair sliding across the floor. Lifting his head, he saw the vulpine slowly sauntering his way from his table to the huskies, book with a pen tucked under one arm. Jon just stared as the vulpine stood in front of the head of the table. "May I join you?" Oh god, his voice... A pitch or two higher than the huskies and decadently smooth. "Uh...um...s-sure..." The fox slowly pulled out the seat opposite the husky and sat down, very delicately.
Setting his drawing book off to the side, the fox looked at the husky. Jon began to sweat a little. *It's like he's looking right through me..* They continued their stare, the huskies nervous and the foxes strong. Everything seemed to grow quiet around the pair as they looked on, taking every detail about the other. Finally, the fox spoke up, extending an open paw. "I'm Eric. Nice to meet you,..." "Jonathan.", the husky replied, slowly shaking the offered paw.
The two furs casually talked for what seemed like hours, until it was nearly dusk. Jon noticed that Eric was rather flirty in their conversation, and couldn't help but smile and giggle every once in a while. The husky learned a lot about the fox: he's attending the local college to finish his prerequisites and hails from the east coast. He also learned that the vulpine loves to draw, his true passion. Jon told him that he loves to write, mostly fictional stories about love. Eric smiled warmly this confession and continued to give Jon subtle hints. Eventually, they decided to leave the tea bar, and were about to go there separate, but not before Eric asked Jonathan the big question.
"Would you like to go get some dinner and maybe see a movie with me tomorrow?", the fox giving Jon a very sweet and innocent look. "Yea, that'd be great!", the husky replied. They both exchanged numbers and set a time and place to meet. They said their goodbyes and waved to each other as they set off for home.
Jon's heart flutters as he walks, excited about his "date" tomorrow. Not only because it's his first, but he's also curious how it will all play out. He giggles and shudders slightly just thinking about it......
