What if you were born from two opposites of a coin? With the father of a demon and a mother of an angel this is demon lord Louphure's life. The first true half breed without any impurity to bond the two halves together. A being all thought impossible. Even with his immense power he is still young and inexperienced. This also presents another problem than the obvious. He is a species of one and he is lonely.

Chapter -A new light

Louphure walk threw the portal stone with Holla close behind. Her almost falling onto him like a drunk. She barely seemed to catch herself as she takes a step back. “ My apologies master." Louphure did not even look at her as he responds. “ You are free to cope with the mental strain as you see fit but getting drunk will not aid you in controlling the link between us." She looked away slightly ashamed hearing that as she puts her hood on. “ Master, what amusing are we here for this time?"

Louphure puts his own hood on as he moves threw the path. “ While I had you meet with Luna becoming my confessor official I met with my uncle." Holla looked at him slightly surprised hearing that. “ You seem different after the meeting but I did not want to say." Louphure nods. “ I transferred most of my power to him." Holla pauses surprised. Louphure continued. “ But first I had to go to my grandfather for his permission." A chill goes down Holla's back as she reluctantly starts moving forward to follow again. “ Master what amusing could make you want to go to such extreme?"

Louphure looks back toward her uncertain a moment before looking back at the path in front of them. “ So far many times I have noticed gaps in my visions of the future. As you know there are two things a seer can not do. First tell their own future. Second change prophecies. I have put several safeguards on myself in order to keep myself from breaking these two laws. That is why I make myself blind to many situations I am directly involved in when they do not have a clear outcome. Such as with you shielding me. If I had known I could have saved you from injury."

Holla goes and rubs her fake leg and chest scar. “ But more important there are times I have found this power blocked to me as well. Such as when on divine lands or the school for demons. In both cases powerful forces prevent my far sight. However I have noticed something out here on the outreaches." Holla nods understanding. He has found something to seek after so many years. “ I understand master. How may I serve you?" Louphure stops a moment. “ I am going to seal my memories in your mind. Our link is proof you can bare this burden. However after that you must guide me to what I seek. Even if it is my own death." Holla reached out to Louphure sad before bringing both her hands together on her chest. “ As you wish master."

Holla wiped the hands of her master as he rested. The strain he just went threw was great as he laid in the tent. Suddenly his eyes shot open and he shot to a sitting position startled. “ Was it the same dream Master Purious?" He nods to her happy remembering her face. “ Holla such a loyal woman." She blushes slightly as she turns. “ It is my duty Master Purious." He moves to leave the tent and finds the sun rising and she follows from behind him. She quickly packs up the canopy she used for the tent and the rope on her pack before putting back her cloak over it and her back. Purious moved forward stretching his arms before checking his sword. After that they were ready to move. It was a short walk to the path beside the lake they were traveling on and it was hours before they came on the other side of it and into the forest beyond. As the sun was high above them Purious noticed a lone tree beside the path with three already there resting. “ Let us rest as well." Holla's words came over her panting. “ Yes, master."

The three strangers became weary seeing the two deciding to take a rest at the same place and Purious went to them as Holla went to refill her water containers. It was not long before she returned and offered him a canteen full of clear cool water and he drank it greedily. “ So heading for Traversville as well?" Purious looked at the woman in wonder as she raised up from cleaning her sword. “ We did not notice you on the road ahead of us. You must be coming from the other way then." She shook her head. “ Actually waiting on passing merchants seeing they need hired hands."

Purious removes his cloak's hood. “ I see. So what dangers ahead must we avoid?" She rubs her fingers together with a smirk on her face. “ We work for money and information brokering is work. Telling you is a lot cheaper than escorting you however." Purious smiled amused. “ I am no lightweight to danger. However I do not even remember why I was heading this way coming to think of it." Holla takes her canteen back forcefully. “ Master, we came to this realm in search of someone. So is this person ahead of us?" Purious looked back at Holla still hooded. “ I am not sure. It is unfocused what I seek."

Holla seals the canteen and puts it away. The woman Purious was talking to stands. “ Well I need to run to town for supplies anyways. Tell you what sense it is just two of you I will escort you at half price. Even if you slow me down I should make it back before dark." Purious raised his shoulders. “ Clearly I do not know the original price so how am I to know if it is half or not!" She puts her sword away annoyed. “ Just for that I retract my discount!" He looks at Holla and nods. She brings out a small pouch of coins. “ We will pay half in advance."

Holla watched as the woman led them. Clearly she knew the realm well. The hidden paths to bypass dangers. For the two of them there would have been no issue but she can see the looks her master was giving the woman. She was a happy and cheerful woman. Yet easy to anger and just as fast to tame that fury. She was also very calculating and intelligent despite looks and her speech. It was only a short single hour journey but with her they saved likely over three hours of hassle. With the other half of her dues paid they went their own ways. Purious went looking for rooming as she went to the general store.

Holla looked around the town from the shadows. This was a quiet mountain mine town. It had little trouble from the war by first looks. As she observed she saw their escort bring a small vase of flowers with her to a graveyard. She sets the vase at the base of a simple wooden cross. After some silent prayer she stands and dusts her knees off before wondering off. Holla paused before going to the room of her master and took a knee. “ Wash up. We may be here a few days." Holla nods seeing a cold bath already prepared. After cleaning herself and her gear up she shook her wet fur before getting a comb out and straitening her fur. Purious starts looking out the window where she came in. “ So what is your opinion of her?"

Holla closes her eyes and quiescence in pain pulling out a fur clump. “ She is very lovely and strong master." Purious turns to her with a look of pain in his eyes. “ I hear it. Her past. She was wed young. Raped by an older man she was forced to call husband. Still she was loyal to him. He was a hero and abused her. Still she stayed loyal. Even when he died in the war. She wept for him. She soon found herself on the street. Only with his sword left to her name. Unlike so many who would have lost faith completely she believed this only a test." Purious then hummed to himself in thought. Holla takes a few rations left in her bag out and picks some to eat before putting the rest away. “ Why do you think I am interested in her?" Holla hesitated as she drops an apple. She quickly picks it back up and bites into it. “ It is by your command master I obey." She then looked away not as hungry as before.

As the first day passed and went into the second the two of them did not see the stranger again. Holla watched him looking out the window. She knows his focus was not solely on her but it was obvious she had the majority of it. On the morning of the third day in the town she was not going to sit threw another day of looking at her masters back cooped up in a cheap inn room. “ Master by your leave."

Purious waves his hand and she was out the window and on the street in a flash of an eye. It was not long before she saw the shift change of the mine occur and the fresh miners going in while the tired ones collect their daily pay. A system clearly adapted from the practices Louphure and his father instilled in their own mines. As such a system of pay was not practiced before then. Many weary miners returned to their homes as a few went to a bar. Obviously without families to hoard the money for instead of splurging for drinks. Holla kept to the shadows as she moved. Only becoming public when she went shopping and asking for information. It became apparent that the woman, Trissa, that her master had grown a fancy to is not much liked in the town. The mere fact she is a better fighter than any realm local puts most of them off but also the fact she has not rewed. Many young miners see her body attractive. Even if her first husband broke her body so she may not carry a child. After reporting her findings Purious thanked her for all the information before Holla took to laying down. He looked at her with a smile before going out the door.

Chapter – corrupting the incorruptible

Purious went downstairs to see a rather surprised inn keeper seeing him without his hood on. “ Young master, I am surprised seeing you alone. Rumor of you being alone with a woman all this time. Even a young man should show restraint in straining his endurance." Purious paused hearing that to think of a response. “ I have a female attendant. She is shy to strangers. Especially lonely fools looking for an easy treat." The inn keeper nods understanding that. “ No more will be said on the matter. Are you going out today?" Purious nods. “ I spent the last days contemplating. Today is a day of action."

The inn keeper smirks slightly. “ May the light shine bright on you holy one." Purious paused again hearing that. He smiled figuring his face easily gave the fact away that he was a half angel. He left the tavern and went to the bar to wait. He settled on the local brew of potato whiskey and beet bread stew. Oddly he sensed a pleasing mix of pleasure from the cook. One honored to do their task. He considered seeing to that individual after his current goal. As the day wore on many of the miner shifts came and went. Some griped while others glad of the work. He had talked to many and Holla was done with her rest as it went dark and the group of mercenaries that hire themselves for escorting threw the hostile land appeared. Three of them went to the last empty table as the woman sighs seeing only Purious and Holla with the last seats. She grabs her drink and sits down annoyed. “ If I had to guess you almost planned it this way."

Purious blinks unsure as Holla smiles under her hood. The woman seemed to catch the shape of her teeth. “ A dangerous companion you have half angel. Not many would dare turn their back on a being like her. Little alone trust her." Holla backed away in her seat ashamed. “ I am her master. She will obey my command." The woman eyes Holla suspiciously. “ So command her to end her own life." Before Purious could speak Holla does. “ He would not need to command me to follow that order a second time as he did not need to the first."

She looked at Holla sternly before actually believing that. “ So what brings a half angel and his dog out this way. I know your pet has been asking about me around town." Purious nods. “ She was gathering information on you. Perhaps before we truly begin I should explain what I do. I seek the victims of the divine and the war between the two super demon powers. I offer those who have become shells of their former lives and grant them purpose." She laughs hard. Loud enough for the whole tavern to start listening in on the conversation. “ You expect me to believe you offer me salvation?"

Purious shook his head. “ I did not say salvation, Trissha Van Howarts, widow of the late Gunther Van Howarts. I said purpose. However I can see in the short time here you would not take any deal I would offer." Trissha calms down hearing his tone. “ Tell me how you give others purpose." Purious nods. “ A married farming couple together I granted a new farm after the holy order took the crops and then proceeded to burn the fields when the tax was not paid. I granted another knowledge of his child. When that child was saved by one of my realms healers. I have saved kidnapped princess from the worst of fates they could have endured. I connected flowering lovers together when my servant asked me to help with the matter."

Trissa listened to him talk amazed as all those in the bar as well. They have never heard of such generosity before. She put together all these events were just the recent ones. After all the examples she needed to hear he waited for her next question. “ So tell me why there are not stories of these miracles?" Purious closes his eyes saddened. “ They are around. Corrupted by those that hear them. It is so hard to see truth when you can not see past your own beliefs. But perhaps that is not the whole cause. I am a forbidden child between my angel mother and her lover. The light of the heavens do not shine on me."

The whole bar seemed be become shocked hearing that but Trissa could see that true. “ So with all this we come to the question needed asked most." Purious nods. “ Why am I here? In truth I do not know." Trissa looked at him surprised. She was unsure if he was serious or not. Holla explains. “ This is not normal practice for my master. He is usually much more discreet. This time he traded that for a more equal level approach. He who does not know what he seeks and you who does not know her own value."

Holla sees Purious look slightly toward her and she bows her head. “ My deepest apologizes master. By your command I must keep you toward the path of your own choosing." Trissa looked at the werewolf puzzled. “ His path set before or after." Holla bows her head again. “ Both! They are one and the same." Trissa chuckles amused. “ Interesting indeed. All right buy the drinks for tonight if you are serious." Holla grabs her pouch and pulls out several gold coins. “ This should cover the next week." The bar goes up in cheers as Trissa looks at the two cautious.

Trissa did not stay to enjoy the drinks as the three went back to the inn where Purious was staying. Holla did not stay long with them either. Purious sat on a chair looking out the window as Trissa enjoyed her first night indoors in months. First by taking a bath. She watched him closely to be sure he did not peek but after her washed flesh was under a blanket dry she joined his side. “ The realms look amazing tonight." Purious points toward one. “ The realm of heros. I been there a few times."

Purious points to another nearby one. “ That is a wyrm birthing grounds. I have three friends born there." Purious points to another. This one outshine them all. “ The realm I call home. Left to me when my father was slain. On the same day as my mother." Trissa could almost see a tear form in his eye. At the same time a smile formed on his face. It was gentle like a true angels. “ They were deeply in love. Her gentle smile seeing him was beautiful. Rivaling only having her eyes on me. When one of the demon kings invaded my father held the line. He lost the battle but won the war. The cost was his own life."

That tear left his eye as his smile faded. “ My mother. She loved all more than any other. She was strong. A general in the ranks." Trissa sensed the deep sorrow in him. Somehow he saw he accepted his fathers passing. Yet his mother was a totally different story. She sees pain in him he had hid a very long time. The next moment she found her lips to his. Her hands on his head and surprise in his eyes, but also happiness. She finds the blanket at her feet. Her bosom was covered in sweat. Her heart beating wildly. She looks away and covers herself with her arm. He still almost seemed not truly sure what just happened. She then noticed he still had his cloak on. His wings were becoming erect from his excitement. “ Are they beautiful?"

Purious nods coming back to his senses. “ Yes, but I am shy about who sees them." She notices her own arm across her own chest and accepted that. “ So do you want to? I mean I hear the stories about you half angels." Purious nods. “ The thought has never crossed my own mind." He sees her look away disappointed. “ But now it has. If that is your desire."

Purious looked out the window to the sky darken for a gloomy day. The night before he knew would be a passionate blur for Trissa. For him it was something of a puzzle. Why he sealed his own power. Who was he really. Why does his servant act on his command when he did not issue one. Yet also there was a fragment now that was not there before. A sense of being more complete now than before. He had obtained something he could not achieve without going threw such extreme measures. He pauses his thinking as he hears stirring behind him. Before when he did something he would have some reflex of memory about him but last night he had none. He had to learn his libido with no prior experience, but he knew he was held back by himself. This was much more than a seal the divine put on half breeds of angels. This was something he himself put in place. Still he enjoyed the night and she did as well. “ Morning."

Purious nods looking back out the window. “ Near noon actually." Trissa raised to her feet shocked. “ Shit! I got to get to the tree! The weekly wagons will be coming soon." Purious looked out the window having an ominous feeling. “ Will wagons be able to trek in rain?" Trissa comes to the window with something on her as she sees the quickly gathering clouds. “ A storm this time of year? Only a fool will try the road in one." Trissa quickly turns to get ready. “ What is wrong?" Trissa finishes getting her armor on and her sword. “ I know the fool who would likely try if I am not there to stop him. If a merchant tries to push enough money."

Purious nods understanding. “ I will remain here for your return." Trissa goes to the door and pauses. She sees an image of a man she use to know. One she once dreamed of. “ You never did tell me what you were offering me." Purious does not turn toward her. “ That I am afraid has come and gone. Unless, unless you accept me fully the next we meet. All you must do is cast off the illusions of the divine." Trissa thought on that as she passed threw the door and it closed. Holla appears in the room a moment later to catch his arm as he fell backwards. Tears ran down his eyes. “ Master?" He looks at her truly sad. “ Why did you not stop it Holla?" Holla looked away ashamed. “ As you command master. Even if it causes your death." She takes him to the bed they were the night before. He could still feel her presence there. “ Ensure she comes back, but by my command do not cause it." Holla nods understanding. “ By your command Master Purious." He curls up in a ball. “ I am Louphure!"

Trissa hurried back to the tree checkpoint just as the storm starts to rear it's head with a few drops of water. She counted the number there. Two, she hoped the third did not take a job. The earnings were split between them and the four of them got a manageable load. They would surely try to stop the youngest of them. The two stood to her approach confused. “ Hey Trissa, we thought you were in town waiting for a job to come back." She blushes slightly. “ I got laid all right. That is not important. Where is the kid?" The two look at one another worried. “ Did you not pass him? It was only a few clerics and escort for them going to town."

Thunder strikes behind her. If he did not take the path threw the caves then he must be on the road. “ Stay here. The storm is going to be bad." They both nod as she takes off running up the road. She knew if they had not gotten too far she could save them. “ That fool!" She yelled as she went up the road. Already it was turning to mud as the rain came harder and harder. It came to the point she could barely move because she could not see as she slipped in the mud and fell over the edge. As she did time seemed to stop around her and she saw herself falling. Another appeared in a cloak beside her as she fell. “ Your that werewolf."

Holla removes her hood. “ My master had a vision. He saw you fall." Trissa looked at her surprised. “ What do you mean? He is a seer?" Holla nods. “ There are two laws seers obey. One they can not see into their own fates and two what is seen can not be changed. That does not define the circumstances." Trissa changes her expression to confused. “ So why did he stop time?" Holla shook her head. “ He did not. You did!" Trissa became angry. “ Me, how the hells did I do that?"

Holla sighs. “ You are a class of demon called the Sorcerer. You are a human wielding with the power of magic. Do I need to explain what a sorceress is?" Trissa shook her head. “ A sorceress is the child of one or more Sage class demons and a human. It is said they are not bound to the path of their dark kin." Holla nods. “ These types of demons exist to expand the powers of the demons. Still even among them there are taboo powers. Time manipulation for example."

Trissa becomes shocked hearing this. “ So does that mean?" Holla nods. “ Your memories were altered I am sure. The divine are very good at doing that." Trissa turns away sad knowing it was true. “ So my husband?" Holla shakes her head. “ As you do I know few true details. It is likely he was your keeper to observe you. His abuse on you was an excusable because of the cover." Trissa has tears run down her face. “ So your master came here for my power?"

Holla shook her head. “ My master helps the victims of the divine. Sometimes subtly while others more direct. With you he exposed himself. He saw himself exposed watching you. Yet also he felt something else. Something he has only seen but never experienced." Trissa looked at her confused. “ What do you mean?" Holla turns away and looks toward the sky. “ I have a husband you know. A half angel and half man. When he shared this mystery with me I knew what it was but I could not tell him. Love can only be felt." Trissa becomes shocked before putting a hand to her chest. “ How are we even together now?"

Holla smiled amused. “ Last night you and my master became linked threw your hearts. My masters power is great. Despite the distance between the two of you my link to his mind was dragged in this pocket of time because I am near you." Holla points to where the road is. “ I been following you." Trissa looked at her amazed. “ So you can save me?" Holla nods but points just ahead. “ No!"

Holla nods again. She was pointing to a mud slide coming down toward a group of three. If they took shelter now they might just survive. “ I can only save one." Trissa points to the three. “ Save them and leave me then." Holla sighs annoyed. “ It is more complicated than that. I save them and I lose you. No, not just your body either. Your soul will be at the whim of the divine. The two with your friend are angels. They have sensed the seals on you weakening. They will not be affected by the mud slide but the other will be lost to it. You and my master will never be able to come together again if that is what they decide."

Shock goes threw her system. Trissa realizes it is between what she always dreamed of having and saving the man she calls friend. “ Are you saying that you will ignore me if I ordered you to save him?" Holla shook her head. “ I am not a seer and this is as far as my master's vision goes. All you can do is make a choice and accept it." Trissa looked at herself hanging in mid air the the three walking into a mudslide. “ Save my friend."

chapter – Mourning glory

Holla acted instantly as soon as the link broke to the bubble in time. She used all the speed of her legs to grab a hold of the three and push them against the wall before vanishing in the very mudslide she saved them from. “ By the command of my master." They heard as she did. It was luck she was a base earth element minion and had both resistance to that type of damage and some control over it. Still as she hit the river below her fake leg was broken and so were several of her ribs and other bones. The pressure of the impact nearly made her black out as she found her body floating in the river. With the last of her strength and will she moved to her and took her hand as two winged figures start hovering over her. “ Are you not one of the minions of the demon lord Louphure?" Holla coughed up some blood as she and the limp Trissa raised from the raging river. “ By the command of my master."

Holla closed her eyes as she squeezed Trissa's lame hand. She felt no blood moving in it nor heat. The two angels look at one another not entirely sure of the situation. “ BY THE COMMAND OF MY MASTER!" Suddenly Holla coughed up more blood as Trissa coughs up water. It takes her a moment to see the two angels over her before noticing the pain in her body. “ He awaits you." She hears as Trissa sees Holla go lame. “ What a situation."

Trissa looks at the two angels as one shakes his head. “ What a pain." The two angels vanish in a blur of light before finding herself in the inn again awakening to a start. She sees Purious looking out the window before noticing Holla on the next bed. Her body bare but for her fur and bandages. One of her legs missing. She then hears a sigh. “ I told her not to do it. She is too in tune to my desires." Trissa stands uneasy to give him a hug when she noticed the black feather cloak on his back was not a cloak. “ Do you understand who I am now?" She takes a step forward hesitant. “ The man I feel love from."

He sighs again. “ Still under their sway I see. I am not surprised they will meddle." One of the angels that appeared earlier appears again. “ What is it you want from her? Her power? Her devotion?" Purious looked out the window disappointed. “ Short sighted angel. I want to smile." The angel becomes shocked as he explained further. “ My mother had the sweetest smile. To me it was her milk to me. As I aged during the first years of the war my mother did it less and less."

Purious turns and as he did full armor appeared on him. Only his head and wings remained bare. The angel takes a step back startled. “ My father's smile was like sweets. Something that I wanted more and more of greedily, but he only did so when my mother did." Purious turns back to the window. “ What would I do with her power? Why do I care about her devotion? Both I have already in mass. Love is an incorruptible will. Something you wish to try to break for all eternity but will never try."

Purious looks at Holla. “ My offer to you Trissa was to become my equal. It saddens me what fate befell you." The room changed to show Purious on his knees in front of a new simple grave. The angel was still beside Trissa as he put a hand to his head. “ It is such a pain. Because you chose to save your friend instead of yourself you were granted access."

Trissa looked at him surprised as he still rubs his head annoyed. “ He only asked to see you before I took you you know. Even his weakened state he still has the power of an eight winged angel. Ah, whatever you say boss." Trissa sees the angel lift his hand from his head and a light started glowing from the palm. “ So, do you want to be with him?" Trissa looked at Purious surprised. “ You mean?"

The angel nods. “ The big man has a debt to pay and this is his chance you could say. Embrace him like a lover already so I can get to work." Trissa smiles happy with tears running down her chin as she takes to Purious back and wraps around him. Her presence did not go unnoticed by him as the angel touches her back. “ I do not think he will mind parting with a little." The angel was gone as Purious raised up happy feeling her embrace around him. She moved to in front of him happy as well as they came together and kissed.

The angel looked down on them with a smile as the one he was with appears kneeling at his side. “ Greatest one, is it wise?" The angel being addressed puts a hand to his head as he turns to a being of pure light. “ It is a situation, but that boy has no intention of becoming my next rival. Do not worry too much Ralph. He is a creation of yours as well. I miss the days when angels smile like his mother. Perhaps he can bring a few more to do so again."

Ralph looked at the being of light puzzled. “ It is not my place to question but why did you chose me for this task?" The other sighs annoyed. “ In terms you can best understand it is your connection to the treaty of D and L. None in my command know it better. My rival saw fit to allow a neutral ground to exist and I too am growing tired of the eternal struggle. A break for a few centuries will do all good." Ralph looked at the two together in love puzzled. “ Why would he chose someone with the power to defeat him as a wife?" The figure of light vanishes. Ralph sighs annoyed.
