An excerpt of a roleplay I'm in on the Tygras forums with like 6 different people ^^'
Christopher and Alexander are both my characters, but they do not like eachother so far.
The plot is basically a bunch of teenagers wake up in what looks like a large hospital room with various abilities such as flight, telekinesis, etc. and so far, Chris and Alex have clashed pretty freaking hard since the beginning. Chris' teasing pushes Alex past the absolute limit in this addition.
Alexander is a 15-year-old anthropomorphic wolf standing at 5'9" and has jet black fur and sunshine yellow eyes. He benefits from the dexterity and intelligence of a human in addition to the strength, instincts, senses, and fluffy canine appearance of wolves; he's really nice ^^
Christopher is a 16-year-old human being standing at 5'11" and has dark brown hair and deep blue eyes. His ability is pyrokinesis, or the ability to produce/control fire. He's an ass >:
Christopher
I finished my bout of laughter, and I noticed the girl who had the swords staring at me in the eyes. I felt a bit uncomfortable.
"Uh, you okay?" I asked the girl, kind of concerned, but mostly concerned for myself considering what she said about what she would do with those swords. Before she could answer me, a girl started speaking up and asking questions from the other side of the bunk bed, where that thing was standing. I began to answer this other girl's question.
"Those people on the loudspeaker? I'm guessing by mutants, they mean like that mutt, and-"
I stopped short, noticing the girl had cat-like features and a set of two different colored eyes.
"...Are you serious?" I asked, staring at her in the eye with an exasperated look. "Are you kidding me?" I asked, starting to laugh again.
"Have you noticed your eyes? You're one of them, too," I said, uncaring.
It was only a few moments after that when I found myself face to face with that thing again; that wolf, and my eyes widened in fear as he chided me suddenly and with great venom. I hadn't expected something like that from someone who seemed so calm. He let me go, and I had to immediately scramble in order to not fall off the top bunk again.
Alexander
Another girl I saw wake up seemed to have eased into this situation nicely - as nicely as one can ease into waking up in a strange room filled with people and powers and abilities. She definitely didn't look any less confused than I did. I saw her wave at me, and I tensed up and waved back shyly. It seemed I was getting a lot more attention than I'd bargained for today.
I thanked the girl under my breath when she sauntered over, directing my bunk-mate's attention away from me. However, I immediately noticed this girl was not entirely human; her scent told me there was quite a bit of feline in her. I glanced at her and noticed why. Her eyes were heterochromic - one green and one blue eye, and what shocked me most was the shape of her pupils. They were slitted, like a cat's.
My observations were interrupted when my bunk-mate started verbally ripping into the new girl too, and immediately I clenched my fist. I was having just about enough of this guy's crap. He'd been insulting me and putting me down since the moment he saw me, and now he was going at this girl too.
My ears folded back aggressively, my tail straightened and fluffed, so many hairs on me stood up straight, and I snarled in frustration. My yellow eyes burned with emotional fire. My claws reached out and gripped like a vice into the guy's hoodie, and I practically threw him toward my face, getting up close to it. I stared at him from the space between bunk beds, him sprawled over his top bunk and his eyes up against my cold, black nose. I started speaking quietly, but quickly and with venom in my words.
"You have been the most arrogant piece of work in this entire room since you woke up. We are all waking up with some strange abilities from God knows where, and you act like you can just order everyone around while WE'RE all having a freaking CRISIS! Newsflash! You're probably here because you've got some 'inhuman ability' too! Oh wait, no; that's not sweat on your sheets! The only reason your bed's wet is because you can't handle differences! Thanks a lot for picking on a fifteen year old boy and a girl who you don't even know!"
I knew I wanted to hurt the boy, but I knew better. They would take me away if I did; I had heard the warning. I just couldn't stand him. He had no right to put himself any higher than others. My claws released his hoodie's front.
I didn't realize how emotional I had become until I saw a few tears drip from my eyes and onto the floor. I quickly, impulsively wiped my eyes and breathed in shakily, sobbing once. I didn't know where that had come from at all. I just knew I'd had it with him.
Christopher
"Whoa!" I said, watching the girl run off. "It's not my fault. I'm just pointing it out," I said, innocently. I tried to brush off the dog freak's outburst and rubbed my neck, ignoring it. He was just a kid after all. I could pummel him if I wanted. My thoughts were interrupted by the girl across from me calling out.
"'Wet-the-bed boy?' Is that your best?" I laughed, sitting up. "It's Christopher; don't wear it out. Why do you wanna know? I hope you don't expect to talk to me like you're my equal or something, because you're not. It's just like this idiot said - most of us are probably freaks, and as far as I can tell I'm the only human in the room."
Again, I was interrupted. Frighteningly. I had noticed dog-boy getting all emotional, but I couldn't tell in what way. I had assumed he was crying or something because I had hurt his feelings.
Then I heard a great snarl crossed with what sounded like an attempted swear, before I saw a big blur of movement. Dog-dude had shouted, and I saw his fist swing back, before coming around unbelievably quickly. I didn't see it, but I could tell it had met the metal post. I heard a great clang that distorted quickly into a creak and then a snap, all in less than a second, and then the bed gave out under me. I slid off the mattress out of my control, and right into the metal, my face knocked against the bit where the metal began to bend.
I looked up, and what met me was the most retaliatory face I'd ever seen on something... so... canine. The boy's teeth were bared, and I could hear him threateningly growling with a hint of hurtfulness. He didn't seem to be looking at me, even though his gaze was pointed toward me. I resisted the strong urge to cower away from him, and watched as he slowly eased up and the fire in his eyes began to extinguish.
I sat there, frozen as I heard a couple gasps around me, and the room went quiet.
Alexander
I stood there, looking at the ground. My hackles were raised. My eyes were wet. I wasn't even conscious of my feelings. I began to frighten myself as I realized I wasn't calming down. Ella put her arm around me and I inwardly jumped, though the feeling did subside. I was left with hurt, though, and her contact was all too welcome. I guess I could really only describe the feeling as...
...loneliness.
My frustration ate itself back up to the surface subconsciously, as I heard the commotion raise. My ears couldn't take it. Doors slamming, echoing voices from around the bathroom moving around the room, other voices echoing from other areas... it all pounded in my skull.
My nose burned more, frantically screaming up to my brain that it was being damaged by what must have been those chemicals in the air. I noticed it even more as I felt the blood drain from my head. It's quite a weird feeling when it's shaped like a wolf head. I felt my stomach knot at my suppressing of impulse.
_M-my body... it wants me to fight... no... no. _
I snarled, but barely. I hugged my own chest and bent over as I heard Ella retaliate at my bunk-mate. I was on edge. I could feel it so close, I was about to snap. I didn't want to snap. Trust me, I was consciously trying to shut down myself so I wouldn't snap. I was desperate to just get composed and not lash out.
It wasn't working.
I remember it clear as day. My ears had almost gone out entirely, but one voice called out, probably from some other, frustrated, sleepy teen.
I remember hearing the whole statement, but the last word was what threw me, and is all I remember up to this point. It slammed into my skull like a truck.
"Quiet?!"
I blacked out.
...
...
My vision flooded back in, and my knuckles were throbbing in pain. I found myself looking at Christopher. He was on the top bunk... which was no longer on the top. I realized my face was frozen into what must have been a terrible snarl. I relaxed it, confused, and looked around.
What first met my eyes was that the metal front post of the bunk bed nearest me was snapped in two, the top half going down and curving forward all the way to a sharp edge, and the bottom half doing the same in the opposite direction. It seemed like something had gone right through it. In the corner of my eye, I began to notice my bunk-mate was staring at me with terror.
So it collapsed under its support being broken, I thought.
However, it didn't take more than a few thought processes for me to realize that my fist hurting so bad, and how parts of both halves had indentations toward the break, could only mean one thing.
"...D-did I... do that?"
