#2 of Gaia's Charm

This is mostly an introduction of my only two characters so far.

One of them is my "fursona" and the other a fictional romantic partner.

You will learn more later about the Gift.

This is how they met.

Pale blue lips, hunched shoulders, her hands wouldn't stop quivering. She came to me with an unspoken question, and I had the answer long before she arrived. But the real catcher were her half lidded eyes, the iris shimmering from light blue to lavender. She was like me, or she was me, or at least we were born from the same Gift.

People tended to avoid days like these; atmosphere unmoving, streets glazed in ice, breath clinging to the air in big fluffy clouds. But here she was in her lonesome, a rarity among our kind, her stature as brittle as the frozen leaves underfoot. We looked at each other and that was all it took to understand we both had what the other needed, that we followed the same path, the same hardship.... Even with our padded feet firmly grounded, reading each other's eyes opened up the earth, and it felt as though we fell through time together. That moment I knew there wasn't a single thing I wouldn't give if she asked. I would rip the world in half if she so desired.

After that eternal moment I came to my sense, quickly handing over my winter garments in an effort to take away the fanged cold that I knew she had grown all too familiar with. If only for the brief walk home.

I pulled her close with one arm as we walked. She gladly accepted without hesitation, nuzzling in to absorb my warmth. The frozen world glittered and sparkled around us, fervently whispering our names and telling our tales, and we both did nothing but listen in silence. We were here, we were now, and that was how it had always been. It was timeless again, and we walked alongside nirvana.

The world so aligned, not even the hinges cried out their usual protest about the extreme cold as we stepped through my front door. It was a humble 200 square foot abode, with a wood stove, a nook, and a loft above to sleep. Nothing grandeur or of great value, but she didn't even look around as if she was already at home. She licked my cheek as I poured two cups of tea, dropping in one spoon of honey each.

She climbed up the loft, and I followed her snow white tail, placing the tea by the bedside. She shed her clothes, rolled into bed, and those rich iridescent eyes sleepily watched me while I followed suit. We left the tea on the nightstand without a sip, it's steam swirling dreams as we slept under warm blankets together.
