When I finally came to,I was laying in my room. Adelind was curled against me and the kids were sleeping on top of each other in the corner.

"Morning my love",Adelind said licking me across the snout.

I returned her lick before stretching and inspecting my wounds. My left fore paw was covered in medical warp and I had huge staples in my chest,holding closed the wound that had been made by the grenade. I had stitches on my right cheek and I could feel a bit of medical warp on the end of my tail.

"How long was I out?" I asked laying my head on Adelind's paws.

"Few days",she replied licking me,"Shadow and Nina woke up a few hours ago."

"They okay?"

"There fine",Adelind replied.

We lay there for a while as Adelind held me close to her.

"Wanna go eat?" I finally asked.

Adelind laughed,"I was wondering when you'd ask that",she replied standing and waking the kids.

We walked down to the mess hall. I was limping a little on account of my broken paw,but I managed. When we got to the mess hall,we were greeted by the rest of the team.

"Was starting to worry about you brother!",Shadow called. "

Turns out Mountain Dragons are stubborn." I replied laughing.

Shadow had the same huge staples in his chest that I did and his neck was covered about a quarter of the way up on medical warp. Nina's chest was covered in stitches and her neck was warped in bandages like Shadow's was,but it went about three fourths of the way up.

"Can we eat now?" Ator asked.

We all laughed and entered the mess hall. We lay at our usual spots and began to eat. After we were done eating we were laying around talking when we were called down to the runway. We scurried from the mess hall and ran down to the command tent. Nolan met us there.

"I can't thank you guys enough for what youv'e done for us."He said smiling,.

"We were just doing our jobs sir!" I replied.

"No need for that Tyro",Nolan said,"I called you here to give you guys some news." "

What news sir?" I asked.

"We won",Nolan said,"Project Draco is in ruins." "As of five hundred,they no longer have any labs,serum,money or recruits." "Our teams are simply mopping up,we've tracked over twenty two hundred Draco drafters and they were in positions to ruin a lot of families and do a ton of damage." "The bureaucrats in Washington have shut down Project Draco." "But all of this is not why I called you guys here."

"So why did you?" Shadow asked.

"Our work will never be done",Nolan said,"even with project Draco in ruins,we will be fighting for years to come." "I called you here,to tell you",Nolan said,"that I think it would be a criminal act to ask any more from you Raven."

"What do you mean?" Nina asked.

"You guys are free to go,"Nolan said,"you were the best soldiers I've ever commanded,I will not ask any more of you." "I understand you wish to return to Tacoma Tyro",Nolan continued,"There is a specialized transport V-22 that will take you and your family back to Tacoma whenever you wish."

"Thank you sir." I said.

We turned and left the command tent. Once we got outside,the kids began to jump up and down.

"Were going home!",Helix shouted,"were going home!"

I smiled at my daughter's joy as we walked back to the barracks. Once we got there,we went inside and we all lay down in the hallway.

"I can't believe were out",Shadow said as Nina leaned on him.

"Neither can I",Rolland said,"I been doing this since I was fifteen."

"Me too."Taro said.

"Same here",Faline replied.

"What's Tacoma like Tyro?" Nina asked turning to me.

I looked at her,"You'll have to wait and see",I replied,"it's one of those things you have to see before you understand."

"I can't believe were going home",Adelind said leaning on me lovingly.

I sighed,"Neither can I."

"You don't sound too happy Tyro." Faline said,"Something wrong?"

"It's my parents",I replied,"they were always close by,going with out them is going to take a bit of getting used to."

Taro stood and exited the barracks as we continued to talk. As we did,I noticed Ace was looking gloomy and depressed.

"Something wrong son?" I asked looking at him.

"I'm going to miss Kisenth",He said with a crack in his voice,"Dad,I love her."

"Oh son",I said pulling him close,"I didn't know."

"I guess it wasn't met to be",Ace said beginning to cry. Adelind began to lick Ace between his horns,trying to calm him down,but to no avail.

"Tyro". A voice came from behind me. I instantly recognized it,but I couldn't place it.

Was it Taro? No,it was to authoritative to be his. Nolan? No,this was too deep. Could it be John?

"Tyro",the voice commanded again,"stand and turn around."

This wasn't possible. I stood and turned,coming muzzle to muzzle with my father.

"What a handsome young male youv'e turned out to be."

"Dad?" I asked in a whisper.

I felt the tears start to roll down my muzzle.

"Aww",Dad said smiling,"come here!"

I leaned into my Dad's chest and he wrapped his wings around me as I began to sob. After I had managed to pull myself together I backed up to see Mom standing beside Dad,a wide smile,

"I heard what you did",Mom said,"I'm so proud of you son."

I began to cry again and Mom and Dad both hugged me as I did. After I'd once again managed to pull myself together,I took notice of two more dragons that were entering our barracks. One,a male,was a light brown and bright blue,whle the other,a female,was dark brown with a navy blue chest plate and abdomen.

"Mommy,Daddy!" Adelind yelped running to them and hugging them both. Adelind and her parents were all crying as they held each other close.

"Could someone please explain to me what the hell is going on in this hallway!" Shadow barked.

I turned to my Dad,"How are you guys alive?"

For the longest time,my parents just stared at me. "Luck",Dad said,"it is pure luck."

Dad showed me the marks on his neck from where Wei had bitten him. He didn't have any claws,but they were already coming back in. I could see the marks where his wings and horns had been reattached. Mom showed me her patched and stitched wounds,as well as where her wings had been reattached.

"So when are we leaving for home?" Dad asked looking to me.

"Tomorrow",I replied,"it's going to be a long fly back,so let's all get some rest."

With that we dispersed. Adelind and I went to our room and fell into our bed. While the kids piled on top of each other in the corner. Neither of us really knew what to say to each other. After a few minutes of just staring at each other,Adelind curled against me. "I love you",she said softly. "I love you too",I said licking her and falling asleep. The next day,we all awoke early and went down to the mess hall,where breakfast was already waiting for us. We ate quickly without much conversation and then went to the landing pad where the large,blacked out six engine V-22 was waiting. Nolan was there as well with two small cubs at his feet. I instantly recognized one as the one we rescued at the refinery about a month or so ago and the other was Kisenth".

"Guys",Nolan said motioning to the small,black and gold cub,"this is Cria,I want you to take her with you,she doesn't have any one to take care of her and Nesenth is overwhelmed as it is."

"We'll take her",Shadow said. I looked at Shadow and then back at Cria and smiled. Cria looked at her new parents,

"Come on",Shadow said,"we won't hurt you." Cria looked at them,then started to cry and ran to them. Shadow took her in his wings,happily hugging his new daughter.

"Kisenth",Ace said walking up and nuzzling her,"I guess this is goodbye."

Kisenth looked at Ace and threw herself into him,sobbing. "Don't leave me Ace!" she cried as he warped his wings around her,"you are all I have left!"

"What happened?" I asked turning to Nolan.

"Her father was killed in the raid on Wei's compound",Nolan said,"and her mother died of a virus years ago."

"We'll take her",Sozenn said.

Kisenth looked up at Sozenn,"You'll be my Dad?" She asked crying.

"Of crouse I will",Sozenn said softly.

"Thank you",Kisenth said leaning back into Ace.

Nolan gave the motion for the V-22 to spin up it's engines.

"Tyro",Nolan said handing me a small black box,"once a solider,always a solider,if you ever need us,just call."

"Sir yes sir!" I replied.

Nolan saluted me and then walked away. We piled onto the V-22 and found places to lay as it began to spin up. All of the kids,Ace,Dusk,Helix,Tyson Kayel,Taro,Cria,Galzra,Inotih,all of them,pilled on top of one another and quickly fell asleep.

"The first I'm going to do when I get home",Mom said,"is go soak in the springs,I ache all over."

"I'm gonna sleep in my own bed",I said stretching out.

"Nina and I have to pick out a den." Shadow said.

"You can live with us for now",I said,"our den is big enough for all of us."

"Thank's Tyro." Shadow said,"It means a lot."

"Yeah well,just make sure you find a den fast,you can't stay with me forever."

"What are you guys gonna do?" I asked turning to our Anthro friends.

"Find a den as close to yours as we can",Syralth replied,"We've got kids on the way."

"I'm going to go home and sit on my couch",Hudson said.

"Yeah",Issac replied,"me too."

I laughed at my brother's remark and lay my head between my paws.

"I can't wait to get home." I said before falling asleep,thoughts of being back home running rampant in my mind.

I woke hours later as the V-22 touched down lightly in a clearing at Tacoma. The hatch came down and I took a deep breath of air. It was fresh and full of life. The cool night air of the forest rushing in at me. The sounds of the chirping frogs and crickets filled my ears. As I stepped off the V-22 with the others,the grass on my paws gave me a feeling for freedom. I was home,with my friends and family.

"Welcome to Tacoma",I said as the V-22 quitely departed,leaving us alone in the forest.

"Shadow,Nina",I said turning to them,"our den's not far from here."

"Ator,Vanlith and Rolland can come stay with us for the time being",Sozenn said. "Taro and Faline,there is a cave not far from our den that's the perfect size for you two",Sozenn said,",come on,I'll show you."

With that,Sozenn took Taro,Faline,Ator,Vanlith and Rolland and walked off.

"Syralth",Hudson said,you and the Anthro's can stay with me for now,at least till you find a den."

"Thank's Hudson",Tess said. Hudson,the humans and the Anthro's walked off.

"Val and Vez",My Dad said,you can stay with us until you guys find a den."

"Thank you",Val said as he and his family walked off with my parents.

"Well,I said,"why we just standing around,let's go."

We walked for a bout ten minutes before coming to the entrance to my den. We walked inside and I put he kids in bed. They fell right in and were rolling around on their backs.

"Ahhh!",Ace said laughing,"I miss my bed!"

"Me too!" Dusk said rolling onto his side.

I set up a bed for Tyson and Kayel and they were instantly out of it. I looked over at Helix,who was already asleep,her doll clutched in her small paws I smiled and kissed my kids goodnight and then went to lay with Adelind. Shadow had gotten a fire going and the entire cave was toasty warm. I lay down on the furs next to my mate. I had never realized just how soft the furs were until I lay down that night. It was better than the military beds by a long shot. "

I miss my own bed",I moaned rolling onto my side.

Shadow and Nina were leaning on each other with their cubs pulled close to them.

"You guys are gonna love it here." I said trailing off.

"I already do." Shadow replied,"I already do."
