Both Sonic and Tails were shocked at what Knuckles just said.

Tails-Kidnapped!? Knuckles-Yeah, I'll explain on the way. Come on! Sonic/Tails-Right! With that each of them raced out of the house. Sonic-Okay Knuckles, what the heck's going on!? Sonic said as they ran. Tails-Yeah, Amy and Cream should be in their houses. How'd Eggman get them!? Knuckles-I don't know, but I couldn't sleep and was watching the Master Emerald and decided to take a walk. As I walked down the alter I heard Amy scream and so I ran as fast as I could to her. I then saw Eggman had a robot that had them imprisoned in it. I demanded him to release them, but of course he refused and demanded us to hand over the stone. I then attacked the robot, but I wasn't strong enough to break through. So, I ran to Tails house as fast I could get your help, and I had kind of a feeling that Sonic would show up at Tails house bright and early. I'm glad I was right. Sonic-Yeah, that sounds about right. Tails-He's after this thing even more than he was with the emeralds! Knuckles-No kidding, by the way, where is the stone? Tails-It's in my glove, I'm not even leaving it in my lab when I go out. Sonic-Sounds like a good idea, just be sure to keep it safe. Tails-Don't worry, I swore I wouldn't let anyone get their hands on it...no matter what. With that Knuckles led them to the spot where Eggman's latest robot. Eggman-Well, well, well, looks like the gang's here at last. I was hoping for an audience to watch me make my wish for world domination. Sonic-Eggman, you'll never get your hands on that stone you hear me! Now give us our friends back before I get mad! Eggman-Oh, so Knuckles told you about our little hostages did he? Dang, and here I made a little speech for revealing them. Bocco-And boy did it take a lot of trial and error. Eggman-I HEARD THAT! Oh well, back to business. With that Eggman pushed a button and opened a hatch that showed Amy and Cream behind a glass wall. Amy was bashing it repeatedly with her hammer, but with no result. Amy-Why *bash* won't *bash* this *bash* break!? *bash* Eggman-Ha, Try as much as you like! That glass is made to handle anything your friends can dish out. It's got no problem handling that little hammer of yours. Sonic-Grr, damn it! If only he didn't have them I'd be able to rip right through it! Eggman-Ho ho ho ho, what's the matter hedgehog can't fight at your full strength? Well, then this battle's going to be pretty one sided then. Now take this! Just then he launched a powerful punch that barely missed them, but left a pretty good sized crater in the ground. Sonic-Man, that was too close! Tails-No kidding, how are we going to take him on! Sonic-Tails, I need you to get out of here! Tails-W-what, I'm not going to just leave you to take him on yourselves! Knuckles-We'll be fine, you need to keep the stone safe! Besides, this isn't the first time we've taken on tough robots. Tails-...Okay, just be careful! Eggman-So, that fox has the stone eh? Thanks for the information. Eggman tried to get his robot to move, but Sonic and Knuckles blocked his path. Sonic-If you want to get to Tails, then you're going to have to get by us! Eggman-Grr, out of the way! Knuckles-No way, make us! Eggman-Then I guess I have no choice, take this! Meanwhile, Tails ran as fast as he could, he knew Sonic and Knuckles would be able to handle Eggman and save Amy and Cream. He needed to keep the stone safe at all costs. It was then he realized that even if he made his wish and brought Cosmo back, it would be only a matter of time before Eggman or someone worse got their hands on it...he stopped running and stared at it, and realized what he needed to do to keep the stone safe. So he turned around and went back to his friends. Meanwhile, Sonic and Knuckles were in a losing battle. Knuckles-Ugh, is that all you've got!? Sonic-Yeah, you have to be getting weak with age...if you think that tin can of yours is enough to stop us. Sonic said as he held his arm weakly. Just then Tails ran up to them. Tails-Are you guys okay!? Knuckles-Ugh, Tails, what are you doing here!? Sonic-Yeah, you've gotta keep the stone safe. Tails-Don't worry...no one will be able to use it for evil ever again. Eggman-Hohoho, so you came back? How foolish, you've saved me the trouble of hunting you down. Tails-Eggman, release my friends now or else! Eggman-Ha, in case you haven't noticed, you're in no position to be making threats. I've got your friends and hold all the cards. Tails-You're right, we are in a no win situation, but I've got something you don't...the stone! Tails said as he held the stone in front of him. Knuckles-Tails, what are you doing!? Tails-What I know is right...Eggman, I swore that I'd make sure that the stone never fell into the hands of selfish greedy monsters like you...and to keep that promise, I've chosen my wish. Tails held the stone to his chest as a tear fell from his eye and said. Tails-Magic stone, hear my wish! I wish that... (I'm so sorry Cosmo, please forgive me.) The stone will disappear forever! Knuckles-Tails no! Just then the stone glowed brightly and evaporated in Tails hands. Sonic-Tails, why? Amy and Cream were watching the whole event unfold and this made Amy just lose it. Amy-Eggman, you son of a...You'll pay for this! She said as she channeled her anger and gave swing so hard it shattered the glass freeing them. Once out, Sonic began charging with all his might fueled by anger that his friend had to throw away his one chance at bringing back their friend. Sonic-EGGMAN, TAKE THIS!!! He said as he went right through the robot resulting in an explosion. Eggman then took off in his hover chair. Eggman-Bah, guess it's back to the drawing board. No matter, it's much more fun to use the emeralds on robots. With that he flew away, but his minions fell out and so they had to run the rest of the way home. Bocco-Wait for us! Meanwhile, Tails was in tears and his friends went over too comfort him. Knuckles-Tails, why...why'd you do that!? That was your only chance of bringing Cosmo back! Tails-It was the only way to keep him from using it. Like you said Knuckles, a wish is a dangerous thing. Even if I were to wish Cosmo back, sooner or later someone with ill intentions would get it and then we'd be done for. I mean, we try our best to keep Eggman away from the emeralds, but sometimes...he finds a way to get them. It just wasn't worth the risk...after all, one life is nothing compared to the lives of many. Cream-Tails... Sonic-It's for the best...I wanted to see you happy more than anything, and it seemed like the only way that'd happen. Was to bring Cosmo back, but I'm proud of you for putting everyone ahead of yourself, and I'm sure Cosmo would be too. Alura-I agree. With that everyone turned around and saw a strange girl. Tails-A-alura! Sonic-Wait, Tails, is this!? Tails-Yeah, she's the wishing stones spirit. Knuckles/Amy/Cream-WHAT!? Knuckles-T-the stones spirit! Tails-Alura, I'm so sorry...I had no choice. Alura-Tails, you have no reason for apologizing. Tails looked up at her. Alura-You did the right thing, you sacrificed your one wish to keep others from using the stone for evil, and for that, you have my deepest gratitude. Tails-I swore I'd keep it safe, and I don't go back on my word. Alura, how are you able to? Alura-Be seen by your friends? Like I said, I'm the stones spirit, and that stone was nothing more than a physical form for me. You see, when Aaron wished for days for rain to save the ones he loved, I felt sorry for him and so I took a portion of my energy and created the wishing stone to save his people. After he used it, he also felt the danger in it, so he asked me to keep the stone hidden and only reveal itself to those who are truly worthy. I did as he asked and kept it hidden for many years and watched over it from above, many searched for it, but they all wanted to use it for their selfish desires. It was then you each came, at first I thought you were just using it for your own selfish gain, but out of curiosity I took a peek in your hearts and saw how your friend gave her life to save everyone. It actually left me choked up, and I felt sorry for her. So I decided to guide you to the stone and give you a chance. Amy-W-wow, that's just unbelievable. Cream-C-can't you give Tails one more wish? I mean, you're the stones spirit! Alura-I wish I could, but even I have to follow the rules. Tails-So that's it...there's no way to bring Cosmo back. Sonic-I'm sorry buddy. Alura-I didn't say that. Sonic-Huh? Alura-It is true that Tails used his wish, but you each still get one. Cream-R-really!? Alura-Yep, and I've got a pretty good idea of what it is. Knuckles-Heh, it's the only thing we want in the world. Sonic-Okay, Tails said we each had to wish it together. Is that right? Alura-Yep! Amy-Great, let's do it! Each of them held hands and wished with all their hearts for their friend Cosmo to come back to them. Just then Alura began to glow and shot a beam of light straight towards Tails house. Tails-W-what!? Alura-It's done. Tails-Y-you mean? Alura-Yes, she's been brought back to life. Tails-R-really!? Alura-Yes, it's the least I could do for you protecting the stone. Farewell! With that Alura began to disappear. Tails-T-thank you Alura...thank you from the bottom of my heart! Alura-Take care! With that she was gone. Sonic-Come on! With that each of them raced towards Tails house and as soon as the opened the door. Cosmo was sitting on the couch; she then turned and saw everyone. Cosmo-Oh, um hi everyone. Before she could even react everyone ran up to her and gave her a huge hug, tails who for the longest time was crying tears of sorrow, was now crying tears of joy. He...no both him and his friends had their Cosmo back, and they wouldn't wish it any other way. The End.
