How do you get a killjoy to have fun? Well, I guess these guys have it figured out don't they? (Short Story

"How did you talk me into this again?"

"I didn't, I just gave you a little push in the right direction!"

Ugh, hey I'm Zennix. I'm being dragged out of my house to some kind of shit house party. Earth dragons seem to love those. Anyways, the dragon that want's my undivided attention is Lenny, A hyperactive dragon that I swear is a hatchling. Right now we are going down this road in our little town far from the nearest city. Turns out he want's to celebrate my birthday, seriously what 34 year old has a birthday? I stopped caring at 14!

Anyway, Lenny seemed to be dragging my like a ragdoll connected to an airliner. I swear he's trying to kill me. Though thank whatever deity is up there because we finally made it. He opened the door and the smells hit me like my mothers frost breath. It smelled like alcohol, brimstone, sweat, and..Um, wet dog? I look around this fancy house were in. Now that I think about, this doesn't look like a house, more like that tavern down the street.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY ZENNIX!" Yelled a crowd of Dragons, Wolves, a Whale in a tub, And a Human with Geometry for a face.

"So this is the tavern down the street!" I said triumphantly. "Why did you call it a house party?"

Lenny smiled and hugged me, and my lungs didn't appreciate being robbed of their precious air. "I had to irritate you to get you out of bed! You'd be surprised by how easy that is." He said with that infuriatingly happy voice of his.

I looked around at the party around me, seeing their happy faces and energetic movements. I was looking for an excuse to be cynical about this, there had to be a reason to be bored. And guess what, I couldn't think of anything I looked over to bar and saw a mug of mead.

"Ah to hell with it!" I yelled. And then the partying began, it lasted until morning. Though I passed out most of the time. The when I woke I felt like I was having an aneurism.

It felt like hell, and I had say something to stop Lenny from worrying. So what could I say?

"Worth It!"
