As was the MO,I woke to Adelind nuzzling me.

"Good morning my love,she said,softly did you sleep well?"

'Of course I did,I said,you were beside me."

Adelind laughed as she pushed me onto my back and lay across my chest. She lay her muzzle just an inch from mine,teasing me to kiss her,so I did. It seemed to last forever,and I loved it. It put me in a half sleep state,I was only focused on her,everything else seemed to fade away.

Adelind reluctantly broke it,"I love you",she said softly.

"I love you too,I said rolling onto my side and taking her with me.

"What do you think our lives would be like",Adelind asked,"if we'd listened to our parents the day we left?"

"I don't know I said licking her,but I do know that I'm glad we didn't."

Adelind and I kissed again,it seemed to last forever. Breaking it,Adelind ran her small paw down my chest.

"Let's go eat",she said.

I woke the kids and we walked down to the mess hall. We took spots and started to eat. Our meals were always full of chatter,it was the one time we could freely speak Draconian with Sozenn and our friends. It made me miss home all the more,but we'd be back.

"This just gets better and better,Tyson said chewing on his meat,I don't know how these guys do it."

After we finished eating,we walked back to the barracks. Nolan had given Raven the day off,and everyone of us were intent on using the time well. We entered our room. The Ac was blowing hard and or entire room was chilled. Being Mountain Dragons,we liked it that way. The kids began to play as Adelind and I laid with each other and tuned them out. Like I said,Adelind can make me zone out,and focus on just on her like nothing else.

"So what you wanna do with a whole day?",she said rolling me onto my back and laying on my chest.

"I don't know,I said,"I'd be content to just lay here all day,as long as I'm with you,I don't care."

Adelind laughed as she placed her head under mine. I wrapped my forepaws around her back and enfolded her with my wings. Adelind puled me into a deep,passionate kiss. It was better than any we'd ever had. I wished it would last forever. After what seemed like an eternity,Adelind pulled back and looked me in the eyes.

"I love you Tyro",she said softly.

"I love you too Adelind,I replied licking her across her snout.

We lay like this for a long while. I could feel my eyes getting heavy as Adelind yawned. The world seemed to stop around us,it really was,just us. Adelind took my paw in her grasp,it was strong and loving. She rested her head under mine,relaxing as sleep began to take her over. I rolled on to my side,Adelind wiggled around a bit,and then relaxed as she found a comfortable position and feel into sleep. I closed my eyes,holding my mate close to me. She slept in my grasp,her body rising and falling with each breath she took,her soft heartbeat against my strong one,it was like we were one. Her small paws against my chest,they were soft and loving. I lay my head over her's,and let sleep take me over. I was stirred hours later by Adelind,who was stretching still within my grasp.

"Did you sleep well,I asked nuzzling her.

"Of course I did",she replied returning my nuzzle,"You haven't held me like that in a long time."

I smiled as I nuzzled her again.

"What time is it,I asked.

"Around seven,Adelind replied,wanna go get something to eat?"

"Sure,I said reluctantly letting her go and standing.

As I stretched,Adelind leaned against me lovingly,"And then,after we eat,we can go down to the beach for some alone time."

I knew what she wanted from me,and I felt a wide smile cross my muzzle. I laughed as we walked with the kids to the mess hall. We took our usual corner spots and began to eat. As always,we spoke to each other in Draconian,our conversations were mostly about returning home,but lately,I'd been telling the stories about what happened on my missions at dinner. The cubs always listened with wide eyes and perked up ears,today,I was telling them the story about how I became a dragon.

"Hudson went nuts,I said smiling and laughing a bit,I was slipping out,but I could hear him yelling at the doctor,telling him that he could crush his neck just as easily as the steel padlock."

"Wow,Tyson said,Hudson's strong."

"Yes I am",Hudson said picking Tyson up by the scruff of his neck.

Tyson playfully pawed at Hudson's face.

"Put me down,he said jokingly,or I'll bite your face off!"

Hudson laughed,"Easy killer,I'm on your side."

"Did you really say you'd kill the doctor?",Tyson asked as Hudson set him down.

"Yep,Hudson said leaning aganist the wall,"I sure did."

"Did your Dad ever tell you kids,Hudson said crouching and pulling them all close,"about the time I put a live lobster in his bed?"

"I still haven't forgiven you for that,I said with sarcasm and a bit of a snarl,"but now,I laugh about it."

"There not mine,Hudson said glancing at my kids,and then to me and Adelind,"but I can't help but love them like my own."

Hudson hung around for a while,telling the kids about all of the cool stuff Raven used to do when I was human. They listened very intently. After we were done eating,I took Hudson aside.

"Adelind and I are going to go down to the beach for some alone time,I said,will you watch the kids for us?"

"Sure thing brother,Hudson said patting me on the back,"let me know how it goes."

I laughed,"Don't think so."

We walked back over to the kids. Hudson heaved Tyson onto his shoulders.

"Okay guys,he said,your Dad wants some time with your Mom,so I'm gonna watch you,who want's to see where we keep the guns?"

My kids grew wide eyed.

"Heh,Hudson smirked,thought so."

Hudson led our kids from the mess hall and Adelind and I walked to the beach. The wind was blowing gently and the sea air filled my nose. I'd come to love the ocean that surrounded Romeo. You could go out when ever you had a lot on your mind and just let the mist wash over your scales. It was like it washed away your worries with it,Adelind and I loved it. When we got to the beach,we lay in one of the small caves that lined the beach. The lights from the ships sitting in the harbor cast their reflection on the water,lighting the cave in the most amazing way. The sound of the surf gently breaking on the shore and the wind high in the clouds provided such a sound that seemed to soothe my very soul. I felt peace here. I lay listening to the sounds of the ocean,my eyes closed,letting the mist wash over my scales as Adelind leaned against me lovingly,holding my right paw in her grasp,her tail wrapped around mine,my wing over her back. I leaned against my mate.

"This is what I like,I said softly,the peace and the quiet."

"I like it too,Adelind said pulling me into a kiss.

After what seemed like forever,Adelind broke our kiss,stood and rolled me onto my back,laying on my chest.

"I love you Tyro",she said resting her head under my muzzle.

"I love you too Adelind,I said wrapping my forepaws around her and enfolding her in my wings,and then,we had our time alone,if you catch my drift. Adelind feel asleep in my arms shortly after. Having her in my grasp made me relax. There was just something about her that made me want to hold her forever. I loved her,so much. We lay like this for hours. Adelind asleep in my arms. I recalled our days in The Great Pacific,from the day we arrived,to the day we became mates. That day replayed in my head,like a movie,as the humans say. I smiled at the memories as I stood and carefully placed my slumbering mate over my back so as not to wake her and walked back to the barracks. When I entered,Hudson was leaving our room.

"Are they asleep?",I asked in a whisper.

"Yeah",he returned,"there all out cold."

"Thank's Hudson",I said,"it means a lot."

"Anytime brother",Hudson said walking for his room.

I entered and gently placed Adelind on our bed and lay next to her. I warped my forepaws around her and relaxed. He body rose and fell with each breath she took. I remember on the second night we spent in the cave,I was crying so hard,because I missed my Mom and my Dad. So what did Adelind do? She warped her forepaws around me and enfolded me in her wings. He grasp was strong and loving,I quickly fell asleep in her arms. I licked Adelind's head."I love you,I whispered before falling asleep.
