The First-Born

Purgatory, a place of peace,happiness and utter bliss. A place with many names. Shangrila,Heaven,Hell and even The Void. It is all these things but also none of them. Let us go back 950,000 years before its creation. A war raging between Light and Darkness,Angels and Demons. Two gods fighting for total control of the universe to come. Five years in,there is a massive explosion of power,tearing the universe into three parts. Living,Purgatory and Dead. There are no children in Purgatory in the beginning,so the inhabitants slowly begin to die out,slowly become just a fable....all hope seems at a loss.

Then a miracle happens. A child is born,the very first since Purgatory's creation. Alexander Alivant Selenveen,the First-Born Purgatory child,but not the last. Gazing into the child's future,the God Of Darkness and Goddess of Light foresaw a great and terrible war,with Alexander leading the side of good against the side of Chaos. Agreed that this future war had to be won,the God and Goddess bestowed upon Alexander the souls of their greatest champions. Kilana,The Dawning Light and Valixai,The Shadow Hunter,two entities with great,great power to aid in Alexander's destiny....

The Fall

As Alexander grew up,he was feared by many for carrying the soul of Valixai but he was also loved for carrying the soul of Kilana. He was called a monster,an abomination and everyone he knew,treated him as such. Often he was run out of a village for that very fear,often he was nearly killed. Deep inside,Valixai was watching it all from within Alexander's soul and each time it happened,his rage slowly and steadily grew to staggering heights. Outside, Alexander became more aggressive and violent due to Valixai's growing rage of how people treated his host.

On Alexander's fifteenth birthday,he was beaten with an inch of his life and within that second before he died,Valixai's rage exploded violently. Valixai took control of Alexander's body and mind and began slaughtering everyone in the town. No man,woman or child left alive. People lie torn in half throughout the streets and builds were engulfed in a black flame. Those who were not killed outright,burned in the black flames in screams of sheer agony and horror. The monster inside Alexander had been unleashed....

The next day when Alexander came to,he saw the destruction that Valixai had made him do and he felt torn,scared and threatened. Terrified,he ran far far away into the Dark Woods unknowingly. There he hid and cried for days,none of the dark creatures daring to go near the child for fear of Valixai's rage. In ages past,it was Valixai who brought the creatures in the Dark Woods to being and taught them to fear him. Word had spread of the slaughter and a hunt began for Alexander,to put his head on a pike. After months...they found him but what they found,was nothing they expected....

The Wrath of Alexander and Valixai

When they found Alexander he did not look like his old self. His fur was no longer black and white but entirely black and drenched in silk black shadows with glowing blood red eyes and his teeth always barred. Blood of those who found him covered his snout and hands and all throughout the forest, corpses of hunters searching for him were impaled upon branches and some were torn in half by the waist line.

Alexander had let Valixai exact his revenge against those who hurt his host and he was beyond furious. Like a nightmare,Valixai tore the hunters to pieces,screams of bloody murder ringing throughout the whole forest. Preparing for the worst, villages across Purgatory began fortifying defenses,hiring paladins and priestess and even train knights. However when Valixai came,not a single person was left alive. All that remained were corpses,torn apart and smashed beyond recognition and dead scattered all over the village.

The God Of Darkness looked upon the destruction and turned his head,not wanting any part of the slaughter or his now former champion. For six months,Valixai controlled Alexander's body and mind to slaughter hundreds of thousands for hurting his host. It was truly a dark time indeed. Kilana,who watched it all from within,could do nothing to stop Valixai,for his power was to great for even her.

A year passed and the slaughter continued until the Goddess of Wind and the Goddess of Light agreed that Valixai had to be stopped and Alexander had to be trained to control him....

So it begins...

Nearing the end of the second month of the ninth age, Valixai was forcibly pushed back into Alexander's soul and Alexander came to control his own body again. When he awoke he sat within the castle of the gods, Juthor and standing before him was the Goddess of Wind and the Goddess of Light. Slowly, they explained to Alexander what happened and what it was that was controlling him. In horror,Alexander listened to every last word the Goddesses had to say and when they finished he began to cry. He admitted that he was scared and terrified but the Goddess of Wind took him in her arms and held him close and said the words that he would never forget. 'Fear not little one,for I shall guide you to salvation so that you may control the darkness inside you. Do not fear the darkness little one,stand before it,and face it.'

After that,the God of Darkness started to train Alexander to control Valixai's power and his own awakening power at the request of the Wind Goddess. In this time,Alexander faced many challenges that would prove to be impossible for any normal person. Fighting massive ArchDemons,Shadow Drakes and even the fabled Old Ones. In just under five years,Alexander mastered Valixai's power and his own power. In that time,the Wind Goddess had become like a mother to him and Alexander like a son to her.

Alexander was now ready to set out on his own but before he left he was given seven gifts from the seven gods of Purgatory. From the Wind Goddess he was given an amulet created from the soul of her champion who willingly allowed the goddess to use part of her soul for. From the God of Fear he was given the gift of Fearlessness, never to fear the dark again. From the Goddess of Hope he was given the gift and a pure white ring with a pure white gem,to protect him from danger and light the way,when all seems dark. From the God of War,he was given a sword,forged from the scales of ancient dragons,the blade called Haurach Vrelvel. From the Goddess of Tranquility he was given the gift of everlasting life. From the God of Darkness he was given not given an item but instead a black metal arm,one that would never break and remind him of the sacrifices that were made. Lastly,From the Goddess of Light,Alexander was given a small talisman shaped like a key,a talisman that would call upon her power if he was ever in grave danger.

Present-day

After receiving the gifts,Alexander set off into the world to find purpose in the large world. For five hundred years he disappeared from the sight of the gods and other Purgatorians until he reappeared one hundred years later,stronger and much older. The rumors of a new god were true and Alexander became the Purgatorial God of Balance,becoming the most unpredictable of the gods but also the wisest.

At present-day. Alexander still travels the world but not alone anymore. He travels the world with his lover,Namu Skeltragor,in search of a place in the world for them to be forever. He is the last of the Order of Purgatory and has seen much despair in his time but he is still young by the standards of gods. His destiny is fast approaching but that is a story for another time...
