The Young Fox and the Cave
My first story I've written here. Just a simple story about a fox who finds a cave and explores it.
There once was a young fox named Lapa he was a small red fox with short claws and large teeth, he enjoyed playing with his friends and was always glad to see other foxes. He was nine years old when his life changed forever. One night when scavenging for food with his mother Jara, he found a small cave. Curious about the insides of the cave, he went inside to see what was within the depths of the mysterious cave. Notice that he has lived within Fang Fox Valley for over 6 years and never once has his family seen this mysterious cave. As Lapa went farther into the cave he started hearing a laughing sound. The laughing sounded like it was coming from a young fox. Concerned and worried by the laughing he ran into the cave, oblivious of the door shutting behind him. Once he reached the end of the cave he saw a glowing stone. He touched the stone and was immediately walked away from it afraid of seeing the thing he just saw within his mind for the second time. After sniffing around for about 2 minutes he found a switch, pressing it he found another cavern. This cavern had small lights on the sides of the cave with statues of foxes in armor. He followed down the cave shaking with every step he made. He reached the end of the cavern, at the end there was another glowing stone. He touched the stone and ran away. Scrambling away from the stone and looking for the exit, it was not there. He screamed and called out for his mother Jara, he heard nothing in return. After calming down he noticed another switch. After pressing it he opened yet another cavern. This time the cavern was dark and had nothing within it. He ran through the cave screaming "YOUR NOT GONNA GET ME!!" in an attempt to make himself less afraid. May I remind you that he is only 9 years old and as such would be terrified by a thing like this happening to him. He scrambled to the end finding another stone. He told himself "It's ok Lapa your just getting worried for no reason, there is now way this is The Cave...". He touched the stone, and he was whispered to by the stone: "This is the last one...". After he heard that he nearly fainted from raw shock "This is THE CAVE" he whimpered to himself, terrified of what was to come. Lapa entered the final cavern, this cavern was ripe with blue torches. He slowly stepped forward terrified of the coming room. As he stepped into the room he heard laughter of a terrified and sad Fox. About one day later Lapa's mother Jara went into the cave and found him shaking and sleeping next to the bones of a fox. The bones seemed in similar size to Lapa's body and had the same sized paws. Regardless Jara carried Lapa out of the cave. And back to their home. However all was not forgotten as Lapa was traumatized and never wanted to see another dead fox again.
