Adelind's POV

I lay on my bed as Taro walked in.

"Amazingly,he said,everyone has made full recoveries."

"And Tyro,I asked worried.

Taro sighed,"We don't know,he's alive,there's no debate about it,all his vitals are good,but..."

I put my head between my paws. "Will he wake up?"

"We don't know,Taro said,we have never seen a coma so deep before."

"Mom,Dusk asked,will Dad be okay?"

"They don't know honey,I said nuzzling him,they just don't know."

It had been six months since Tyro and the others had been double crossed by Jackson. They had been sent to die,but thanks to Taro,they had survived. Some friends of his had come to the base and got me and kids out when it came under attack by RDS. I had been spending my time either here with the kids,or by Tyro's side,just hoping for him to open his eyes. Hudson walked in.

"Are you going to be okay Adelind,he asked,you know were all here for you."

"I'll be fine,i said,but I don't know what will happen if Tyro doesn't wake up soon."

I closed my eyes. If Tyro didn't pull through,what would happen to the kids? What would our daughter,who hasn't even been born yet,do with out her father? If I lost him,my world would fall apart,and I'm sure the kids would lose me very soon after. I felt Taro lay beside me as I started to cry.

"Adelind,he said trying to calm me,I'm sure Tyro will be fine."

There was a crash at the door,I opened my eyes to see Ator standing there with a look of I don't even know what.

"Tyro,he panted,he's awake!"

I was up and out the door instantly,I didn't even give Taro time to get out of my way. When I got there,Tyson was standing on his hind legs,front paws pressed against the window,moving his tail back and froth as he tried to see inside.

"Mom,he said,Dad's awake!"

"Let me in,I yelled at the guard,forgetting human's can't speak,or even understand Draconian.

"What,he asked looking at me,English Adelind,English".

I switched to English,"I said let me in!"

The guard swiped a card and let me in. Tyro was sight. He was laying on the table,with wires on his head and chest and a large clear hose and a small black one disappeared into his throat. His green eyes grew wide as he saw me. I could see tears running down his face as he tried to look away.

"I'd thought I'd lost you,I said starting to cry,I'd thought I'd lost you."

I walked around so we were face to face,then I placed my forehead on his. Looking in his eyes,I could see he was still in a lot of pain.

"Excuse me Adelind,the doctor said,so I can take the hose out."

I stepped aside as the doctor removed the hose from Tyro's throat. As he pulled it out,Tyro coughed,the looked me in the eye and said,

"I'd thought you'd be angry at me."

"Why,you promised me you'd come back,I said placing my forehead on his again,you kept your promise."

Tyson walked in,"Dad,he said,your awake!"

Tyro turned his head to Tyson,"Have you and Ace been taking care of the little ones?"

"Yes,Tyson said starting to cry a bit.

"You know I'm gonna have to make that ass kicking worse after the shit you just pulled",Hudson said with a crack in his voice as he walked in.

"Adelind,Tyro said,get me off of this thing."

Tyro used me as a crutch,like he had back at base,as he got off the table. We walked leaning against each other back to the room I'd been sleeping in. Ace was overjoyed when Tyro and I walked in. How much Ace's real feelings had come out when he had asked Hudson if he could join Raven Squad,Hudson had said no,and Ace had gone nuts over it. Hudson had then promised that when Ace turned 18,he could join with no strings attached. All the kids were happy that their Dad was okay.

"Dad,Dusk said,your okay!"

Tyro and I lay down as the kids buried themselves under him. Tyro had gone to sleep with the kids. I put my wing over them. Hudson walked in.

'You really do love him don't you? he asked.

"With every fiber of my being,I replied as I placed my head my head between my paws and closed my eyes.

"Ah,I grunted as a sharp pain in my abdomen stirred the others from sleep.

'What's wrong,Tyro asked.

"The baby,I said,she's coming!"

Ace's POV

Dad cleared us all out of the room as the doctors ran to Mom's side.

"Wow,Dusk said,I didn't know we had a little sibling coming!"

"I'm gonna be a big sister!,Helix cried.

We were all kinds of exited as we entered the room across from ours which was Taro's.

"So your Mom is having the baby,he said.

"Yeah,Tyson said,I'm all jumpy."

Taro was jet black,like Dusk,he had red markings and for whatever the reason,he didn't have any wings. He tells us that he never had any in the first place,but Dusk keeps telling me that he can see scars where his wings should be,I'm not really sure who to believe. I lay down in the corner and placed my head between my paws.

"I remember when my son hatched",Taro said rolling over,it was the best day of my life."

"What do you mean,Tyson asked,hatched?"

"Most dragon's lay eggs Tyson,Taro replied,your guy's breed is one of the few who do not,the only other ones I can think of are Arctic and Oceanic."

Taro laughed a bit,"God,I was fifteen,and it was that long ago?" "Damn."

"You were young,Tyson said. Taro laughed,"yeah,I was,and so was she."

"Who was your mate,Tyson asked.

"Heh,Taro laughed again,a pretty girl name Faline,that's her on the wall,next to me and Shadow,our son."

"So your Mom is finally having the baby,Ator's voice came from behind us.

"Yeah,I said,It's awesome!"

"I can relate brother,he said,I remember when my little brother was born,it was the best day of my life."

Ator was one of my Dad's friends from the military. He was a green color,like Sozenn,with red spots. He had two horns pointing backwards at the top of his head and a few more,smaller spikes down the length of his muzzle suit his style perfectly. He had walked with an awkward limp for a while after the surgery he had to fix his insides and he still limped a little,but he says it's gradually going away. He was also a good friend of ours and would often cause trouble with us whenever we got bored.

"So what your parents going to name her?"

"I don't know,I said,we didn't even know up until just now."

Helix's eyes grew wide,"It's a HER,she asked stunned.

"Yeah,Ator said,your Dad told me at the range one day that it was girl."

"How did they know,Helix asked.

Ator paused,like he wasn't expecting to get hit by that question.

"Sometimes the Mom and Dad just know,he said,when my little brother was born,my Mom and Dad seemed to know."

"So when are Val and Vez having thier baby,Ator asked Taro.

I was stunned at what I was hearing,"Val and Vez are having kids,I asked.

"Yeah,Taro said,vez's been pregnant for a while now."

Val walked in,"Well thanks for ruining the surprise jerk,he said to Taro. "Guys,he said studying us,promise me you'll act surprised for your parents?"

Val was an Arctic Dragon,he was mostly blue with white stripes on his legs,back,neck and tail as well as the edges on his wings. He also had a large,bluish white scar on his chest from where Mom says he was hurt on the same job that had messed up Dad. He was one of Dad's better friends and was one of the snipers for his military team,Strike Force Raven. Vez walked in and rubbed Val's muzzle.

"Taro told them didn't he?"

Vez was a Oceanic dragon,she was mostly pink with blue markings similar to that of Val's. She had two,grey horns that slanted backwards and small spikes that went down her back and tail.

"Yeah,Val said rubbing her back,he spilled."

"I told you he would,she said.

'Sorry,Taro said with a chuckle,but Ator asked me and I answered,indirectly telling Ace and the others."

"Told Ace and the others what,Dad asked walking in.

"Kids,he said,come see your little sister."

Tyro's POV

The kids followed me back across the hall into our room. I lay down beside Adelind as they came in.

"Kids,I said,this is Kayel."

Kayel was colored like me with a blue under belly. She had the makings of two,very small horns and spikes going down her back and tail. Her eyes were the most beautiful combination of green and blue and her tail had the black tip like mine did.

"Oh my god,Ace whispered as he saw her,she's beautiful."

The only thing Dusk could manage to say was "wow",in a soft voice and Tyson and Helix were speechless. Taro,Val and the others came into the room. It was the cutest thing as Kayel tried to explore her surroundings,but could not get any traction on the metal floor. She was slipping and sliding all around.

"Wow,Taro said,congratulations you two,she's beautiful."

"Thanks,I said.

"We did one hell of a good job,I said nuzzling Adelind.

"Yes,she said nuzzling me back,we sure did."

It filled me with a warm feeling as I watched Ace and the others play with Kayel. She was tiring to walk around and when ever she slipped,one of the kids put their paw under her to keep her from falling over.

"Tyro,Val said,I got something to tell you."

"What is it man,I asked.

"Vez is pregnant." "

Your joking,I said,are you kidding me right now?" I could feel a smile cover my face. "How long,I asked with a bit of a laugh.

"Soon,Vez said,I can feel them kicking harder each day."

I turned to Adelind,who had a large smile covering her face.

"Val I said,take this from me,when your cubs are born,it will turn the way you see things upside down."

"I'll keep that in mind,Val said with a laugh as he and Vez left the room.

One by one,they left and things settled down.

'What a day,Adelind said.

"No kidding,I wake up from a coma and I find my next kid knocking on the door."

Adelind laughed.

"I'm just glad I've got you back,and that you were here for her birth."

I paused,looking into Adelind's blue eyes. They held the very fire of life within them. It reminded me of the reason I fell in love with her in the first place. That night,I was four. I had gotten lost in the woods while Dad was teaching us to fly. The same thing had happened to Adelind. We spent the night in the same cave that later became our den. The cold had crepped in all night. I was shivering and Adelind had put her wing around me to keep me from freezing. We spent four weeks in that cave while our families searched for us. Learning to hunt,fly and use fire on our own. When we were finally found,we were already in love. After that we were seeing each other as often as possible,during flight lessons,fire practice,hunting class,where and whenever we could. Sometimes,we would even sneak out after bed time and meet in the cave,we would then just talk to each other about what was going on in our lives.

I left the nest at 16 and Adelind at 14,we were young,and our parents told us we were making a mistake. But we didn't care. By the time Ace was born when I was 26,Adelind and I had been allover the world. Seen a lot of different places and met a lot of different dragons. Made a lot of friends too,who wished us luck in where ever the road might have taken us. As I lay next to her with her head under mine and my wing over her back,a deep sleep over took me.
