Aaaaand I need to sleep. A lot. And maybe go bother my mate. Maybe x3

Comment, if you're actually bothering to read this, and tell me what you think x3

The next morning, Torque sat up in bed as the alarm clock went off at 6:30, and yawned, blinking. He shut it off, and then stood, stretching. He made his way to the bathroom, turning on the shower.

After he showered, he got dressed and grabbed his necklace, making sure it was facing the right way, and then slid his wallet into his back pocket. He turned out his bedroom light and quietly walked out of the house, shutting the door. Both his parents were still asleep, and he walked down the street, stopping at Raleigh's house. The deer came out about 5 minutes later, and yawned. Torque grinned. "Someone's tired today."

Raleigh shook his head. "I'd rather be up at 7:30, not 6:50. You know that!" He smiled though, and held the dog's paw, rolling his shoulders a little to resettle the backpack he was carrying.

The two of them started down the street, heading towards the Square. They crossed the mostly-deserted area and moved down another street, heading to the high school. The school covered a large area, and they approached the rear of the school, where the smaller staff parking lot was located. As they entered through the back gates, Torque asked Raleigh, "Are you okay with being open about the two of us?"

The deer shrugged. "I don't see why we should hide anything. I don't think any of our friends will mind." Torque smiled and gave the deer's paw a squeeze, and then shrugged his shoulders, readjusting the heavy backpack. He growled, "I wish we didn't have to carry all our textbooks on Mondays." Raleigh laughed quietly and said, "Hon, I think that's what lockers are for." The German Shepherd shook his head. "I forgot mine."

Raleigh laughed again and smiled. "You're hopeless!" They passed the cafeteria, and passed two wings of classrooms before taking a left turn and heading out to the quad, which was where most of their friends gathered.

Torque let go of Raleigh's paw as an energetic, sand-brown canine leaped on him, hugging the larger dog. Torque grinned, giving the smaller canine a hug back.

The German Shepherd smiled as yet another one of his friends rushed him, and then he said, "It's good to see you, Alice." The tiger nodded, and then poked Raleigh, and asked, "So... are you two together?"

Torque grinned and Raleigh blushed. "How did you find out?" The tiger shook her head. "I'm not telling." After a moment, she smiled and relented. "You were rather obvious, holding his paw like that. And I had no idea you were gay!"

The canine shrugged. "I found out rather recently. Where's Kyle?" Alice shrugged, and said, "He'll be around sometime. I don't keep him on a leash. Not yet, at least." She grinned, and Torque shook his head, smiling as well. The canine looked around and then smiled as Raleigh hugged him, and the deer whispered, "I can't stop smiling!"

Torque shook his head, still smiling, and said, "Gee, you just noticed?" The deer poked him, and Torque said, "I understand. Have you seen Calig around?" Raleigh shook his head, and said, "Apparently he's going to be switching schools. Do you think it's because of his attack on the group of furs?"

"I don't know. It's likely that that might be the case. But how would he switch schools that fast? And where would he go?" Torque shook his head. "There are a million things that could have happened. Don't believe rumors."

Raleigh nodded, and then jumped a foot in the air as Calig poked the deer's side and said, "He's right. Don't believe rumors." Raleigh turned around and to see who it was and gave a little squeak of surprise.

The Doberman grinned, and then he said, "I'm still here. I think Torque could see me sneaking up behind you, right?" Torque nodded, grinning as well. Raleigh just shook his head and hugged Calig, and asked, "So are you switching schools?"

He nodded, and said, "At the end of the week. My parents are worried about my safety here. So they've been looking for another school, and figured out a better solution. You two went to the Square and saw the Lone Wolves, right?"

Torque nodded, and then asked, "You're joining the Lone Wolves?" Calig nodded, and then the Doberman asked, "Do you guys want to hear how it's going to work?"

Raleigh looked down at his watch. It was a black digital model, which displayed time in AM/PM format, and it currently displayed 7:20 AM. He said, "We've got time. Go ahead." Calig nodded, and after a moment, said, "After you two left, I went and talked to my parents. They don't mind the Lone Wolves, and it's better than sending me to a private school and paying the massive amount of money required. So we contacted the Lone Wolves, who were more than willing to put me on the training roster. I was given the opportunity to take a week and get things together-and also to say goodbye to everyone here. I'll be moving to the North District, alone."

Raleigh grinned. "Neat! We'll miss you here, though." Torque nodded, and Calig said, "I'm not leaving for a week. So, this place is called the Lone Wolf Academy. Go figure. But it's an all boys school, and there's another Academy in the South District, for girls. From what the recruiter told me-did you know, one of the Lone Wolves from the Square actually came to the house to talk to me and my parents? Amazing. So from what the recruiter told me, it's like a normal school. Except for the fact that there are mandatory PT sessions in the morning, before lunch, and before dinner. You shower and change before each PT session. In a group. I've never done that before. It sounds like fun for you two, though." He grinned, and Raleigh blushed. Torque just shook his head, and then asked, "Is it one of those schools with dorms and stuff?" Calig nodded, and then said, "After dinner, you head to your dorm and then your room. When you pick your room, you get the option of one to three roommates, depending on when you arrive and how many rooms are available. Apparently there are also certain conditions for selecting roommates and stuff, but I guess I'll find out later. You don't get much homework at the school, and most of it is military related. I think. And other than that, I don't know much else about the school."

Torque grinned. "That sounds like an amazing school. It's only for Lone Wolves?" Calig nodded, and Torque said, "Bummer." Raleigh just shook his head, and said, "I'm kind of jealous. You'll contact us when you're there, right?"

Calig gave the deer a gentle shove. "As I said before, I'm not leaving yet. And sure, I'll Skype you, if I get the chance. I don't know what the rooms look like or what they have in them."

"Other than a bed, and desk... duh!" Torque grinned, and Calig rolled his eyes. The bell rang, and after saying goodbye to everyone and exchanging hugs, they all left for their various first periods.

Torque's first period was History, which he shared with Calig. He sat down, and instead of listening to the announcements, he daydreamed about Raleigh. He didn't know Raleigh was doing the same.

History passed by fairly quickly, and Torque met Raleigh outside during break. The deer hugged him and asked, "How was History?" Torque shrugged. "More or less the same. How was English?" Raleigh grinned. "I was the only one who did the homework! So everyone else ended up working hard all morning while I got to sit around and draw." Torque smiled and asked, "What did you draw?"

The deer shook his head, blushing. "I'm not gonna let you see. Not yet." Torque rolled his eyes and said, "Come on... just a peek?" Raleigh giggled, and said, "Nope!" He giggled some more as Torque tickled him, chasing the deer as Raleigh tried to escape from Torque.

A little ways away, Calig watched, and a hint of a smile touched his lips, but then vanished. The Doberman was lonely, and he wished he had a mate. Maybe if you weren't afraid to be openly gay... like those two. He growled, and ignored the thought. What harm could it do? You've already got enemies. Calig shook his head, and he walked off to his next class, busy with his own thoughts.

The day passed by quickly for all three, and after school, they met by the bike racks, where everyone gathered. Nearly everyone asked Calig what school he was going to and what it was going to be like, and he ended up explaining it twice.

They all split up fairly soon afterwards and headed home. Torque walked with Raleigh the entire way, and he asked his parents if he could stay at the deer's house. His mothers said it was fine with them, as long as he got to school the next morning and had his homework done.

Raleigh hugged the German Shepherd and asked, "So did they let you stay over?" Torque nodded, and Raleigh beamed, grabbing the dog's paw and dragging him towards his house. They arrived at the deer's house fairly quickly, and Raleigh bounded into his room, dropping his backpack on the floor as Torque closed the door. The canine gave Raleigh a kiss and then flopped onto the deer's bed, stretching. He had no homework that day, and he took the opportunity to tease the deer about it, grinning.

Raleigh just shook his head, opening up his backpack and taking out a massive book, swearing under his breath, and Torque asked, "Algebra 2? Sounds fun." He grinned widely as Raleigh playfully flipped him off and set the book down on his desk. The deer sat down in the chair and rooted around in a tin can for a pencil. Once he had one, he opened up the book and set to work, as Torque closed his eyes and decided to nap.

Raleigh grabbed a pair of headphones lying nearby and put them on, selecting Rammstein and turning up the volume as he started on his homework, tuning out everything around him for the next 30 minutes as Torque quietly slept.

Time passed quickly for them both as Raleigh finished his homework, and when he was done, Raleigh looked over at the sleeping German Shepherd and smiled. He lay down on the bed next to Torque, snuggling up close to the sleeping dog and pulling the blankets up over them both. He soon fell asleep listening to Torque's heartbeat.

Raleigh bolted upright as someone knocked on the door, and rubbed his eyes, trying to wake up. His father knocked again, and said, "Dinner, Raleigh! And is Torque in there with you?"

The deer said yes, and his father replied, "Ask next time before you bring your boyfriend over, okay? Dinner's on the table."

Raleigh shook Torque gently, and the canine sat up slowly, rubbing his eyes as well and yawning. The deer kissed him on the muzzle and said, "Dinner's ready, hon. You awake yet?"

Torque nodded, and then walked into the bathroom, splashing some cold water on his face. Raleigh stood and stretched, and then opened the door, smiling at his father as Torque walked out of the bathroom and blinked, more awake than he had been a moment ago. Raleigh's father smiled at them both and then headed to the kitchen, sitting at the table. Raleigh followed him, and so did Torque. On the table was a large pot of spaghetti, and several plates. Torque grinned as he saw the massive pot, and sat down next to Raleigh, letting the deer serve himself first, and then taking a massive amount of the spaghetti and digging in, his tail wagging happily.

Raleigh grinned as he saw the massive pile of food on Torque's plate, and asked, "Hungry?" Torque nodded, and Raleigh just shook his head, starting on his own plate. After Torque finished, Raleigh grinned and asked, "Still hungry?" The canine shook his head, and Raleigh took his plate and rinsed it out in the sink, along with his own plate, and then stretched, as his father stood and headed out of the kitchen. Torque stood as well and headed back to Raleigh's bedroom, and the deer waved to his mother before following the German Shepherd.

When Raleigh entered the room, Torque was stretched out on the bed again, and Raleigh shut the door, and walked over to his desk, packing away his homework and then slipped off his jeans, and laid down next to Torque, smiling and wrapping his arms around the dog. Torque grabbed the blankets and pulled them up and over himself as well as the deer, and then, after a moment, asked, "Hey, Raleigh?"

The deer looked up at Torque's brown-gold eyes and asked, "Yes?" Torque smiled and asked, "Did you finish that drawing yet?" Raleigh shook his head, and said, "I hope you don't mind if I keep it hidden until I'm done. I want to make it a surprise." The German Shepherd shook his head, and asked, "Are you sure? Can you at least tell me what it's about?" Raleigh grinned, and said, "Nope! It's a surprise!" He giggled as Torque tickled him half-heartedly, and then yawned, settling down into the pillow and closing his eyes.

Raleigh yawned as well and snuggled the dog, resting his head in the warm fur and listening to the slow, gentle beat of Torque's heart, falling asleep again in moments. After a little while, his mother poked her head in and smiled when she saw them both, and then turned out the light, and shut the door.

Raleigh's alarm went off an hour earlier than Torque's did, and the German Shepherd sat up, stretching and yawning as Raleigh hopped out of bed. The deer was only wearing a shirt and Torque watched, grinning to himself as the deer walked into the bathroom, and then hopped out of bed himself. He tripped over something on the floor and growled, and then realized it was Raleigh's shoes. He moved them out of the way and then went into the bathroom after the deer, stretching again, and then asked, "Do you hate school as much as I do?" Raleigh smiled and kissed the dog's nose, and said, "You're just grumpy cause it's early in the morning!" Torque shook his head, the dog leaning over the sink and splashing his face with cold water and yawning again.

Raleigh turned on the shower and bent over to grab something on the shower floor, making Torque grin, and when the deer turned around, Torque grinned even wider as Raleigh blushed and then shook his head. Torque shrugged and said, "What? You look good." The deer shrugged and said, "Not as good as you do." He reached for the dog's jeans, unbuttoning them and slipping them down as he gave Torque a kiss. He then stepped away when the dog went after him, and giggled as he heard Torque make a quiet whine, and said, "Not this morning... maybe later!"

He stepped into the shower, and stretched under the heat, as Torque stepped in after him and poked the deer. Raleigh giggled, ticklish, and stepped away from the dog as best as he could in the confined space. They enjoyed the hot water that morning, and when they stepped out, the bathroom was covered in fine dew and the air was steamy. The German Shepherd grabbed a towel off the rack mounted on the shower door and had it snatched out of his paws by Raleigh, who smiled and said, "Thanks!" Torque just shook his head and grabbed the other towel, drying himself off. When he was done, he set the towel back on the rack to dry, and turned around to see Raleigh rooting around under the sink for something. His rump was up in the air, and Torque grinned, giving it a sound smack, making the deer yelp. Raleigh stood and turned to face the dog, and asked, "What was that for?" Torque couldn't help it and he laughed. "Just to mess with you, hon." Raleigh shook his head and set the extra toothbrush in the holder, and said, "If you're going to stay here practically every night, you might as well have a toothbrush here."

The German Shepherd shrugged, and Raleigh said, "Either that, or I won't kiss you anymore, mister. I think you'd be a little sad in that case." Torque grinned and grabbed the toothbrush, and looked for the toothpaste, only to see Raleigh holding it in his paws and grinning widely. The deer said, "Looking for something?" Torque shook his head and then snatched it back from Raleigh, and smirked. "Mine now!" He put some on his toothbrush and then handed it back to the deer, still grinning as he started brushing his teeth.

Afterwards, he stepped back into the bedroom and rooted through the deer's clothes, and then felt something soft thrown at the back of his head. He turned around and picked up the clothes on the floor, and Raleigh said, "Those are extras you brought with you, remember?" Torque nodded, and then put them on, and asked, "What are you going to wear today? Let me guess... jeans and a T-shirt?" The deer rolled his eyes. "What does every teenager today wear?"

Torque grinned and watched as Raleigh grabbed those exact items of clothing, and asked, "What is that in the back of your drawer?" His tone was light and teasing, and Raleigh blushed bright red, shutting the drawer. Torque grinned and opened it again, reaching into the very back and holding up a black thong. Raleigh stammered and blushed, and the dog said, "What's this? Is my deer naughty?" The deer snatched it out of Torque's paws and hid it back in the drawer, and said, "Maybe a little. So what if I have a thong?" Torque smirked and the deer said, "Maybe we can talk about this later?"

Torque shrugged, and said, "We'll probably do more than talk about it, but sure." Raleigh blushed again at the thought and then gave the dog a shove. "It's 6:30!" Torque rolled his eyes and said, "So? I'm just getting up at 6:30, you know. Why rush?" Raleigh shook his head and then grabbed his backpack, checking to make sure he had all his books.

Torque grabbed his bag as well and the two of them headed into the kitchen, trying to keep quiet since Raleigh's parents were still sleeping. Raleigh reached into one of the cupboards and grabbed two foil packages, tossing one at Torque, who didn't catch it before it smacked his nose. He gave a soft yelp, but managed to keep from dropping the package. Raleigh hugged the dog and said, "I didn't mean to hit your nose! I'm so sorry!" Torque rubbed his nose and twitched it a few times, and then said, "Well, I can smell, I think it's fine." He held up the foil packages. "Pop-tarts? Really?"

Raleigh shrugged. "So what? I have them every morning." Torque grinned and said, "Maybe that's why I've got all this muscle and you've got..." his voice trailed off, and Raleigh said, "That's right. Got what? Sexy curves even the girls at school are jealous of? I don't need muscle like you do." He ripped off the foil and put the food into the toaster, pushing it down as Torque just ripped the foil off and wolfed down his Pop-tarts. He noticed Raleigh looking at him and said, "What? You don't need to microwave these." Raleigh kept a straight face for a moment longer, and then laughed quietly, smiling and said, "Your face... was just..."

Torque shook his head and snatched the Pop-tarts out of the toaster, grinning as Raleigh watched for a moment, and then went to get down another package. Torque rolled his eyes and said, "You can have these back." Raleigh took them and then held one out to Torque. The German Shepherd gave the deer a quizzical look, and then took the pro-offered food. Raleigh smiled as he finished his, and then stole the little bit Torque had left. The dog didn't mind and turned to head out of the kitchen, and Raleigh followed him out, turning out the lights.

The air was crisp and cool that morning, and the two of them headed up the street, as always, and after a little while, Torque asked, "Did you bring me to the Square on Sunday just to make me want to join the Lone Wolves?" Raleigh nodded, and he said, "You were already interested in the Lone Wolves, so I figured I'd find out when they came next and take you with me." Torque nodded, and they continued walking, enjoying the morning and each other's company. After a little while, Raleigh smiled and said, "You remember Justin? The blue and white wolf?" Torque nodded, and said, "The blue wolf, with the white-tipped tail? Yeah, I remember him. Why?"

Raleigh blushed and said, "Well... I think he's kinda cute. That, and he can't be more than 17 at the oldest." Torque shook his head, and said, "Appearances can be misleading. But I will admit that he did look good. The white tail tip and black nose was awesome." The deer nodded, and said, "What about his partner? Gryphon, I think it was. Those two didn't actually seem to be partners. I got the feeling they were partnered up for the duration of the showing. Or maybe I'm wrong. But it seems like Justin is still in the Lone Wolf training school. Did you get that impression?"

Torque shrugged. "All I could tell was that he looked about 17. Gryphon didn't really seem like his partner, though. So maybe he is a student. But why wonder? Unless you're hoping he'll get partnered with Calig or something?" Raleigh shook his head, and said, "That would be awesome if it did happen. And cute... if they took to each other like that."

The German Shepherd shook his head, and said, "I highly doubt that they're both gay. I don't even think either one is gay." Raleigh smiled and said, "It would be cute, though!" Torque nodded, and said, "You know what is just as cute? You are." Raleigh smiled and said, "Am not." Torque tickled the deer and said, "Yes you are. Admit it."

Raleigh giggled and stepped away from Torque. "No I'm not! If you keep saying it someone might believe it!" He smiled though, and pressed himself against the dog, holding his paw. The two of them walked the rest of the way to school holding paws and smiling, happy with each other.

When they got to school, they greeted their friends and then sat down, Raleigh snuggling into the larger dog and smiling happily, tuning out the world as he listened to the dog's heartbeat. Calig sat against a tree nearby, lonely, and closed his eyes, resting, until the bell rang. Torque nudged the deer and Raleigh stood, stretching, and then kissed the dog, and walked off to class. Torque headed off to his own class, and Calig followed a little ways behind the dog.

History passed by as usual, and the worksheets were not all that difficult. After class, Torque met Raleigh, and Calig watched as they hugged and gave each other a brief kiss, and then sighed. He headed to class before the bell rang, and behind him, Raleigh whispered to Torque, "Does he look a little lonely to you?"

The dog nodded, and said, "More than just a little lonely. Should we talk to him at lunch, maybe, and see if we can't make him feel better?" Raleigh shrugged, and said, "I think he needs a mate. That would help. But we can't go around and ask girls to give him a chance. That is... is he straight?"

Torque shrugged. "I don't know. But I think we should get to class." The bell rang just then, and Raleigh kissed the dog again, and then went to his class, Torque doing the same a moment later.

When the bell rang for lunch, Calig walked out of his classroom to his next class, dropped off his backpack, and then headed out to the quad, sitting against one of the trees and closing his eyes. When he opened them a couple of minutes later, he saw Torque and Raleigh sitting on either side of him, and asked, "What are you two doing?"

Torque shrugged. "You looked rather lonely hanging out under the tree all by yourself. We figured we'd come and see what's going on." Calig shook his head. "Nothing's going on. I'm fine." Torque said, "Bull. What's going on?" The Doberman shook his head again. "Nothing. Just thinking." Torque studied the other canine's face for a moment, and then Raleigh hugged the Doberman, and asked, "Are you sure you don't want to tell us? I mean..." He paused. "Maybe you need a mate. We know a few girls... or boys, if you want to talk to them."

Calig shook his head. "I'm fine. And I'm straight." Raleigh studied him for a moment, and then said, "Bull. I don't believe that for a moment. Be honest with us, at least. Why be afraid?"

The Doberman looked away from the deer's green eyes, and said, "Alright. I am gay, and I've known it for a long time. I'm just afraid of how people would react if they found out." Raleigh smiled and said, "Look at Torque and I. Everyone loves us. I can't tell you to be open about who you are, that's your decision. But you know how the slang term for homosexual is gay? That is because we are all happy. If you want to look at it that way."

"I guess that's true." Calig was quiet for a moment, and then he said, "Can I ask you something?" Raleigh nodded, and Calig blushed. "You know the wolf? Justin?" Raleigh grinned and said, "You like him?" The Doberman nodded, and said, "I also found out that they let you select whichever roommates you want, if you know anyone specific you want. I also found out a little more about the roommate arrangement."

Raleigh said, "Tell us then. I'd love to hear all about it." Calig nodded, and said, "So... apparently you are assigned to a Lone Wolf, as a trainee, and that Lone Wolf will share your room with you. A single Lone Wolf can have up to two trainees, and when you're selected as a trainee, you serve with that Lone Wolf for up to six or more years, and then at the end of your term, you can choose to remain with that Lone Wolf, if they don't mind, or partner up with another one if you want. Or you can train a new Lone Wolf. Either way... I keep hoping that I get to select Justin as my Lone Wolf partner. Or, if he's a trainee, maybe partner up with him under one Lone Wolf instructor. Crazy hopes, but maybe it'll happen."

The deer nodded, and said, "I hope you do. But for now, try not to be so sad and stuff. You have friends, right? Hang out with them. Hang out with Torque and I, if you want. We'll cuddle you, even." He smiled, and Torque said, "Within reason. No threesomes or one-night stands." The deer gave him a shove, and Torque grinned. Calig blushed, and said, "Thanks. Maybe I will take you up on the offer of cuddling."

Raleigh smiled and stood, offering Calig a paw, which the canine accepted as he stood, and then the deer walked over to Torque, sitting in the dog's lap as he tried to stand, and said, "Nope! You stay put." The canine rolled his eyes and stayed put, as Calig smiled and walked off to his next class.

The bell rang soon afterwards, and everyone went off to class. The rest of the day passed by quickly, and after school, Raleigh and Torque found themselves walking home with Calig, the Doberman a bit happier than before. Calig headed off down a different street to his own house, and Torque walked home with Raleigh, and called his parents, letting them know he was staying the night with the deer again. His parents made a few teasing remarks about how he should just move in with him, and then said he could stay the night.
