Do Not Touch
A poem I wrote for my creative writing class
Touching the glass isn't supposed to happen
that's why there's a sign that reads
"Do Not Touch".
Mistreated and abused
without thinking of what would happen.
It was felt until it had no more use,
then was pushed aside.
They didn't believe it was wrong
even though it shatters at the touch.
Crying out in pain it wished for a time before.
When it was left alone and no one bothered it.
Just because they knew the glass
doesn't mean they had the right.
What was once beautiful and delicate
is now broken. Never to be totally whole again.
