Reminded of Memories
#1 of Poetry
This is actually a poem from a ways back. Just curious as to how people react to it. It certainly isn't like my current works, more of which will be coming soon. :3
You reminded me, Of why I had fled, From the world of the living, To the world of the dead,
I gave my heart, A glimpse of my soul, But you cast me off; I was but means to a goal,
I'll not go back, I won't give in, I've felt the fire, The warmth of living,
You cannot break, What was already broken, For I was shattered, 'Ere your name I'd spoken,
I was as sand, Ground to dust, I was as Iron, Turned to rust,
But the fire, The flame of life, Has called me back, Despite my strife,
The pain you caused, That most would dread, Is as naught to I, Who walks amongst the dead,
You see the fire, Know the flame! You cannot know, That cold world's pain!
I understand, It is hard to believe, But when truth I speak, You say I deceive!
What cause have I, To utter lies? I can lose nothing, In your eyes!
But why should I expect, You not to be the same, My whole life I've been subject, To that very claim!
I was a fool, To hope you were better, But you'll strike not a blow, My soul you'll not fetter!
