Shadow Warriors
Chapter 1: The Calling
Created By: Cjdstruction
The world is gone to the brink of war, MY world. From across the lands between Luthaca'ar to the Great Seas of Marathin. Oh how I long for the Great Bolares to shed our people with some light. However the only people who could shed light is myself and other warriors living upon this accursed mountain.
"LARREN! HEY LARREN!" Came the loud yelling voice from the halls. I rolled my eyes every time, listening to that damn yelling every morning. For I know who could that be doing it every morning when I always look down and relaxing from the balcony. "Augh, what is it, Jeerraden? Is Lord Bolares or The Followers are going to send us on another mission?" I said in a exhausting way. "Hey, how'd you know? I never knew you could be psychic just like Klarris!" Jeeraden scratched his head, wondering how I'd known. "I know it because you are too predictable, Jeerraden. Well anyway, how is Klarris? She's not doing her fancy card reading again, is she? Only thing I am worried about is her combat training." "Klarris is fine. She's just doing Mana practice. But really, How much do you care for her, Larren?" Jeerraden said in a sarcastic way. I jumped down from the balcony right next to Jeeraden and give myself a little stretch."Augh! Just shut up and lets go to the meeting already." Jeerraden is one of the middle class warriors. Always talking too much and being a clumsy idiot defines his character, but in missions he can handle himself quite well or just barely. He fights like how a warrior would fight on his first day. It bothers me so much on how on Landeerah, Jeeraden is promoted to be a Zengai and landed to be with our squad.
When Jeeraden pushed those double doors we are in the most historical place on this mountain: The Hall of Warriors. How many of our brothers and sisters have we lost here? All their great weapons and armor stays here to remind us of their sacrifice. We warriors have to honor their stories of how they began and ended. However, It never amuses me to hear them all. As we push the last double doors, we are now in the briefing room as I have figured everyone of our squad is already here. "Hey everybody, looks like we're on another mission today. Another scavenger hunt? Taking out a great overlord? oh my my MY, oooh oooh what abo-". "SHUT UP, JEERRADEN!" everyone replied. "Aww, whats with you people, you guys are no fun. Can one warrior in this big room respects me?!" Pouted. "aww cmon guys." A woman from the background sits up from her table and she turned facing us. "Jeerraden has always been a good warrior.....For just acting like a little baby Quillden!!" said as she giggles after. Klarris, a kind woman, and always the helping hand around here. I rescued her from my 1st mission. Klarris been through the same tyranny as I have. From that day on, we made a promise that we're going to protect each other. Well, I am her only 1st friend to make a promise like that, and oh what could bother her. Now, Jeerraden with rage he replied " Aww that is one, and ONE TIME only Klarris! That was the time when we were looking for the stolen Red Jewel of Gooladawn". Then the big guy, named Galden, stepped in with a grin on his face. "OH YEAH?, what about the Dragos of Hallendis, Pits of Underthrall, Canyons of Jalugiss, shall I continue?". "HAA, hahahahahahaha, THAT one in the canyons was pretty good, I too almost fell just by laughing at him!" said by another warrior named, Shing standing right next Klarris. Galden, and Shing, hmph, I wouldn't dare to pick up arms against them if I were like a Dorlox. Galden is very tall as a long spear, and his huge arms can lift great columns without breaking a sweat. He's called to be our Senjin (as in Captain or Team Leader). He uses a big axe and even named it as if it were his wife. Shing, A skinniest warrior than all of us but don't let his physic fool you because he's much strong than he looks. He has a proud heart to be a Shadow warrior and mostly a cool headed man. He's the only one not be taught with sharp weapons and only uses a long Bo staff. Zengist has little care for armor for he always says "Acting as the speed of the wind is much greater than steel." I think maybe sooner or later he has reconsider his decision. When I first brought into this Ladorian Mountain, they were the only first, two Zengist (as in Lower graded students) before I become one myself. They're good friends and they stick by through thick and thin.
In the background, A man with worn robes and long grey ponytail turned around with a serious look on his face. "FELLOW WARRIORS! Today is not the day for all of you to act so childish. You lot should know on having respect to be called here from Lord Bolares." he said. "YES, forgive us Master Lennix" Everyone responded as we knelled and bow. Master Lennix, the man who rescued me from the village, and brought me here to become a Shadow Warrior. I owe him my life, which he gave me this. To us, Master Lennix is more than just a master. He is like a father to us all, teaching the ways of what is good and not. I or neither of my fellow warriors couldn't disrespect him. Lord Lennix is our great master.
"You are all forgiven, now today, we have a letter coming from The Followers for they have received a nightmarish vision." I sighed silently in disappointment as I into sarcasm. "Oh great, another dream mission." Klarris placed her hand on my shoulder and looking at me with a mean face. "Sssh, be silent!" she whispered as Master Lennix continued on the Briefing. "This vision tells a great and dark force is pouring out deep within the undergrounds of the great city ruins of Kahalleris. An underground prison which calls the Ancient Gates of Koraden. According to The Followers letter, it tells about a prophecy about The Dark One who shall be feared to all is planned to be released within the next full moon" Jeerraden stepped in with shock, "You don't mean, THE Dark One that caused all of this whole mess Centuries ago?". "Yes." Master Lennix continued. " It's the one named Bancoora".
When I first heard that name, cringed my fists tight like somehow I know him. My feelings tells me something about Bancoora, for he knows something about what happened to the one I am looking for. I got no choice but to take this alone. "Master, I volunteer to take this mission alone and complete this with honor." Master Lennix is looking at me with a lazy eye. Wondering why I wanted this mission, but he knew it all too well what I want. "Hmm, so far eager now are you? Is there something that brought you interests in this mission?". "Yes, it does, I believe there are are answers for someone who I am looking for." " Isn't it your mother?" Klarris interrupted. "You should know already that your mother have died years ago." Coming from Klarris, she was really dead For I know she's alive and captured. "How DARE YOU to say that to me!? How would you suppose to know that!?" "Steady your heart, child" said master Lennix shielding Klarris as I continued ranting. "Her body was not found within my village. I know my mother is still alive and there should be a reason why she's taken. I am sorry, Klarris. I am going to Kahalleris to find the answers that I need and none of you shouldn't dare follow me!" Master raises his hand up, "Fine it is, you will be going to the ruined city of Kahalleris to finish this mission." with relief, I got the go ahead to quickly make haste. "Thank you, master" I went through the doors and left the Briefing room. I hopped on my Leohorse and speeded out the Shadow Warrior's opened gates.
Meanwhile, back at the mountains, Galden is worried for myself for I have to do it alone."Are you sure about this? Other dark soldiers from different regions are going to Kahalleris to see Bancoora be let out of his prison!" Master Lennix started laughing at Galden like he has no clue. Yet, Galden still wants to insist while master is making his tea. "Did you not hear me, Galden? I said I let him go to Kahalleris to finish the mission, but I did not say he could do it alone now, did I?". Galden, smiled and he thanked Master Lennix for the order. "So then, I will gather the rest of my warriors to Kahalleris. I am truly grateful, Master Lennix." Galden left to assemble the others, as Master Lennix is looking outside his window. Over the horizon, he sees great black clouds hovering over the valley. Watching intensely, he feels a great vibe through his body. "I pray to Ledaria for bringing our warriors safely."
