The long awaited follow up to chapter two

Hey everyone, it's been way to long since I've posted anything so I decided to put this out finally. I hope to be uploading something to the site at least once a week, all comments, faves and votes are also super encouraging to continue my writing! Enjoy!

I reached over and gently shook Trey's brown arm. His eyes opened slowly, looking over to smile at me as his green eyes met my blue ones.

"Hey sleepyhead, we're here. Do you need me to carry you in?"

I winked deviously with a chuckle. He groaned softly as he stretched his arms behind his rippling back.

"As nice as that sounds, I think going to have to politely decline you offer."

He continued to smile back at me, keeping his warm gaze on me. I laughed softly as I unbuckled my seatbelt, reaching behind me to grab Trey's bag to bring it forward to him.

"Alright, let's go up to the room."

Trey nodded softly as he took his bag from my paws. He never skipped a beat as I saw his eyes change, something behind them telling me more but not the full story.

"Thank you Craig, for everything especially tonight."

I nodded softly as I gave him a comforting smile, trying to project my warm feelings back towards him.

"No problem, Trey. Let's get going"

We stepped out of Craig's car; he hit his remote quickly as we left his car a chirp reminding us of its presence behind us. I followed him close behind as we made our way through the full garage, readjusting my tired paws on my bag as we kept a moderate pace.

"How far up is your place?"

I inquired softly, not sure if I even spoke loud enough to hear me hell I barely even registered my voice. His ears twitched slightly as he turned his head over his shoulder before responding, giving me a warm reassuring smile as well.

"It's only on the first floor; we'll be there in just a few minutes. It sure as hell made things a lot easier when I moved all my things in."

He chuckled softly as we made our way up the few stairs, turning right out of the stairwell and entering a small hallway. We continued walking for close to another 100 yards before he stopped in front of a burgundy door, the number 114 gleamed in polished silver in the center. Craig reached into his pocket, rummaging for his now vanished keys before grinning triumphantly as he pulled them free. His sleepy paw had a little difficulty getting the key into the deadbolt but after a few tries he sunk it and rotated his paw. He took a step to the side, allowing me to enter first.

"Welcome to my humble abode, Trey"

He let out a deep sigh of relief as we stepped inside and closed the door behind him. I began to trace my eyes slowly around the dimly lit area, stopping happily on his cocoa colored couch as my tail thrashed behind me. I quickly treaded over to collapse down on it, murring deeply as my body sunk into the enveloping cushions. I smiled contently up at Craig, my eyes meeting his glowing sapphire orbs, filled with happiness as he let out a deep rumbling laugh.

"It's obvious you're right at home, huh?"

He grinned wider before he padded towards the aluminum refrigerator.

"Do you want anything to drink?"

He grabbed a light blue pitcher from the top shelf as he took two glasses off the counter.

"Water would be fantastic!"

I called as I bent over to slowly take off my black Supras, grinning as my dark toes wiggled in the cool breeze coming from a nearby flood fan. Craig treaded over slowly, careful not to spill either glass as he extended his arm to hand me mine. I was practically panting as I gratefully took the condensation coated glass from him, barely blinking before I tilted the glass to my chapped lips and murring as the cool liquid flowed over my tongue and lips. I smiled as I opened my eyes, blushing slightly as our eyes made contact for the third time tonight.

"Thank you! I guess I didn't realize I was so parched."

Craig grinned back at me as he showed his empty glass to me, smirking softly as he chuckled and walked towards the chair adjacent to the couch.

"Well great minds think alike and nothing beats ice cold water on a warm night."

He replied with a contented sigh, kicking his vans off his feet and kicked them over towards the wall behind him.

"So, where would you like to sleep tonight, Trey?"
